I honestly never got the hype for her to me I always found her to be a Terrible Singer but with catchy songs that made her stay popular her voice is nothing special at all there is not one song I heard from her where she doesn't really hit a high voice off or show she can really sing.At least with Christina Aguilera you can tell she can actually sing as well as Mariah Carey.

Everyone has different tastes when it comes to music. There is no right or wrong when it comes to music. Some people focus in on the sound of a voice or the instruments or the lyrics or just the beat. If an artist or band have a catchy beat and decent voice then I usually like the song.
I'm almost 39 and I like some Britney Spears, Avril, Katey Perry and I like old stuff like Journey and Tears for Fears, some country, rap and even instrumental orchestra music. Heck, I listen to everything. I'm not picky or set in some way where I think I have to be "cool" and only like certain styles of music.
Giving someone a hard time about what music they like is just stupid.

I remember when I was in College, early 2000s, she was ridiculously hot to me. Her, JLo, Beyonce probably some others too. I never listened to her music as in bought CDs/downloaded it, but I never disliked them. I could listen to them no problem. Obviously never a strong singer compared to Aguilera, but not many are.
Didn't care for when she seem to take the Madonna path at one point, I don't think that is necessary for anyone to do. Miley is doing it now and just taking it to another level almost. I am just older now and don't see the need to subject yourself to it.

She lost it.. I don't think she ever fully recovered from her mental breakdown, and the public sure as hell didn't forget about it.. Whenever I think of Brittney Spears I think of her MTV performance and the camera cutting to 50 Cent laughing hysterically at how god awful she was.
She also hasn't aged well, this is either due to her substance issues or her mental issues or both.. But she looks terrible. And as far as her music goes, there hasn't been one song she released since her "come back" I thought was any good. I'm pretty lenient on pop songs, I give them all a listen, and she by far had some of the worst releases over the past couple years.
In all honesty, Brittney isn't a talented artist.

I would rather Have Bonnie McKee who has written songs for Britney Spears such as Hold It Against Me that song from 'win a date with todd hamilton' of hers is really great...saw her once at LSU outside free show - don't have to tell you, but..she is quite the looker ** britney has catchy songs & if you like her - more power to ya I enjoy a handful of songs, but if I saw her around, I wouldn't care to say hello or care to buy a cd A lot of people roll their eyes because of auto tune, or the commercial formula for success, the belief that she has no talent and nothing personally to do with her success except for right time, right look...but you know, could be said about a lot of people

I agree that she hasn't aged well. I don't know if it is from smoking/stress/other mental issues, but she is still quite young, but isn't nearly as attractive as she use to be. I guess she is doing ok for herself with the Vegas gig. I guess she is still under the conservatorship which I couldn't fathom being under, but I've never been in her shoes. I wish her/kids the best though.

It was a failed single from her debut album Trouble that was released in 2004. What year was it when you Saw Bonnie McKee?

My memory is failing me on the year, but she was promoting that debut album & the movie was already out (maybe had just gone to DVD). It was an outside stage in the large grass area of the campus & several bands were playing (free thing put together for students). I think Better Than Ezra played at night (thinking it was the same year) & the Yin Yang Twins (worst live act I've ever seen). She played during the early afternoon though. I tried to look up old LSU event calendars & stuff, but couldn't find anything that far back - called 'Groovin On The Grounds' more than likely.

Piece Of Me is an awesome song. Other than that I could take her or leave her musically. That is to say she doesn't offend me in any specific way.

She's a star for a reason, no question about it. I wouldn't really worry about being a fan of hers if I were you. Most of the clubs I frequent play her music and it fits the atmosphere. I couldn't picture chilling and putting on an entire disc of hers in my everyday life, but if that's your thing just take peoples comments in stride, laugh it off.

Not that big a fan, but I absolutely love Crazy and Lucky for some reason. Few of my mates were hugely into Britney when we were growing up, maybe that could be the reason behind my liking of those songs.
Take no notice of people ribbing you about it, I learned to not care what people think, the amount of times I've been laughed at for belting out and singing along to Wham! songs in my car is innumerable!

My friends and family love to tease me about being a Britney Spears fan, why is this? Well that depends... are you a 14 year old girl? Although -- and I hate to admit this, even on a message board -- I did like one of her more recent songs about putting the scent of her perfume on her boyfriend so some other chicks knows to back the off.
