So last weekend I worked with Blackflight Studios doing production work, visual effects and acting for the 2014 Atlanta 48 Hour Film Horror Project! The film will debut on October 30th at the Landmark Midtown Art Cinema at 9:00pm. I worked on their last 48 Hour Film Project over the summer and have been in many productions, but this will be the first time where a film that I have acted in will be shown on the big screen and I am very excited. I play a cannibal clown and it was an interesting role to say the least. For those not familiar with the festival, at 7:00 pm on Friday, you are given a genre of film, a line of dialogue, a character, and a prop, all of which have to be used in your film. There is no pre-writing allowed. The writing, production and editing must all be done within a 48 hour period. It is a marathon of filmmaking, but a lot of fun! Below is the official trailer for the film (48 seconds long, per festival guidelines) and a poster. If you are in the Atlanta area, I highly recommend coming to the event as it is a lot of fun and you get to meet cool people and see fun films. If the film is successful, it may play at other festivals or be released online in the future. I'm actually staying REALLY busy. I worked on this film last weekend, I'm acting in another short film this weekend that is being directed by Don McGraw (Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies) and then the next weekend I am directing a short film I wrote, starring Lucas Hicks (Constantine) and Alexander Raines.

Looks cool man. The whole 48 hour concept sounds really fun. It's not fun. It's God-awful. I'd rather a kick in the balls than to EVER do the 48 hr film project, again. Ever.

I've worked on two in the past 5 months and had a blast. Just takes working with a good team of people who get along at 4 o'clock in the morning lol

So does everyone just get one line of dialogue because that's the way it seems since you said that's what they get or do you mean you have to expand with what you're given and come up with more

I took part in this one in 2009, way back during college, and swore I never would, again...

You got a character name, genre, one line of dialog that HAD to be included (doesn't matter where, in the film, but someone had to say it), and a prop that had to be used. So the dialog could be whatever, you just have one line that you have to find a place for. Ours in the short I just posted was something one of the newscasters said.

You can do basically anything you want, as long as it has that line in it, along with the prop and character. That way they can tell it was created within the 48 hour period. Everyone gets the same prop, line and character, but they randomly choose genres. The Atlanta competition had over 90 teams, so obviously there is some genre overlap in that regard. For example, over the summer, our genre was dark comedy, line was "I'm gonna tell you a secret", prop was a peach, and character was Dr. Oliver/Olivia Sandman. We won for best use of prop for Atlanta.

I don't know if that is just because the Atlanta competition is so big, but it helps tremendously.

I think there was a run time limit on ours, too. This was the 'Director's Cut'.

Ever. having made a film in 48 hours (not part of the 48 hour film project), I AGREEEEEE! it's a huge pain in the ass, but it was worth it The trailer looked great. Nicely "cut".

The premiere on Thursday was a huge hit! We are still waiting to hear from the jury concerning the festival awards, but the film is now online! I was a camera operator, visual effect artist and played Chester Killmore! Enjoy!

lol not bad. But it's like you took "Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2", "The Devils Rejects", "Motel Hell", and a couple other horror films and put them in a blender. Not original but still, not bad at all. Congrats!

Sorry to anyone who wanted to watch the film when it was posted on here. It ended up being removed because we are going to take it to other festivals. In fact, it screened at the Buried Alive Film Fest last night alongside several other films from all around the world. We got a great response and had a good time. I got the celebrity treatment as you can see here lol
