- If John Cena vs. Randy Orton is the main event for this Sunday's WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, it will mark the 100th time that Cena has main-evented a pay-per-view, according to The Internet Wrestling Database. Cena already holds the record for the most PPV main events, followed by Triple H (95), The Undertaker (86), Randy Orton (76) and Sting (74). www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2014/1023/583268/john-cena-may-hit-ppv-milestone/WELP

That means just over 8 years worth of Main Events.
Great longevity at the top.

Impressive run, especially considering the fact that most of them are good matches. However stale the character may be, and believe me, it's unbearably stale, the man delivers in big matches like no other.

Even if Cena vs. Orton isn't the main event, I would expect within a few months he would.

Really surprised to see Stings name at the top of that list as well. Even though people call him the "franchise" of WCW, he was always playing second fiddle to Flair in the early days and then Hogan in the latter.

Cena will play politics to get a win and stay in his stupid character. THE SAME FREAKIN' CHARACTER THE PEOPLE ARE SICK AND TIRED OF!!!

I hope he reaches it but just not this Sunday. He can main event the next 10 PPVS for all I care but Ambrose and Rollins needs to main event. No questions.

I really doubt Ambrose vs. Rollins will be the main event this Sunday. Cena vs. Orton will be. Both men are considered to be main event guys without being WWE Champion, and with there being no title match at the PPV, the main event will clearly be Cena vs. Orton. Especially with how they set it up on Raw with Orton giving the RKO to Cena and having Heyman even being involved. Knowing that the winner gets to face Lesnar, then clearly Cena vs. Orton will be the final match of the night at the Hell In A Cell PPV.

And about 80 of them have been against Orton.
