*HUGE BOOK SPOILERS. DO NOT READ ON IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOKS*
*This also contains spoilers about a storyline in the show that seems to be radically different to its book counterpart. Do not read on if you want to be surprised by the show.*
Seriously, last chance.
Seriously, don't look if you haven't read the books.
Why are you still looking?!
JON SNOW DIES. Ok he is probably still alive but if you didn't know that then why are you still here?!
Anyway, here is the main point of this thread:

For those who can't be bothered to read all you really need to see is this:
So it looks like Tyrion will skip a lot of his story and end up meeting Dany way earlier. One theory is that Hizdahir will be combined with Yezzan or whoever the slaver is and buy Tyrion. He'll then be impressed by Tyrion's wit and intelligence and make him his right hand man or something, hence why he's sitting next to Hizdahir. Of course they could have just taken something that seems likely to happen in TWOW (Tyrion meeting Dany) and moved it forward. She'll probably lose her sh*t at a Lannister at first because she speaks & acts without thinking cos she's an idiot (I really don't like her) but once she calms down and Ser Barristan explains that Tyrion was just a baby (and how he could be useful to her) she accepts him into her court.
Thoughts? I quite like this change. Speeds up things a lot. I recently read book 5 and from the first chapter Tyrion meeting Dany (and therefore instantly making her story 100x better) was teased, and I was quite upset when I realised it would never come true.
However, it makes me wonder how quick they're powering through books 4 and 5. GRRM hoped for them to take 3 seasons on them, and I predicted they might take at least 1.5 (probably 2), but it seems they're gonna try and fit it all into 1 season. They're already well ahead for characters like Brienne, Sansa and Bran, whereas Arya and Tyrion are on point and can be sped up fairly easily, but I really wonder about Jon. He's the only major character to still have a big plot point from book 3 left out (I'm assuming they're not doing Lady Stoneheart), and his book 5 story is fairly substantial. They could maybe combine the two times the Wildlings come through the Wall into one, but this story above all others needs time and patience as the foreshadowing for Marsh stabbing Jon takes place. I assume he'll be elected in the first episode, but then they'll have to put a lot of Jon into 9 episodes to get the stabbing into episode 10. They may even have him stabbed in episode 8 or 9 and then have his big resurrection (assuming there is one) in episode 10, as it could be an epic way to end the season (although just him being stabbed could be epic too).
I also hope the Battle of Winterfell is in if they are speeding things up. The Battle for Meereen is so telegraphed and most of it seems clear from the released TWOW chapters anyway, but Stannis vs. Roose could go any way.
