Offseason time! Time for big contracts and bright prospects to shine in the spring! Who do you hope to sign? Who don't you want to lose? Discuss!

Pirates will offer qualifying offers to Martin, Volquez and Liriano.
Volquez will stay. Liriano MIGHT. Martin's taking his talents to New York (again). So hopefully we find a catcher. Snyder and Sanchez are not the answer.

Glad to see Walker get some end of season award love. Kid is one of the best second baseman in baseball and a majority of fans don't even know his name.

Was pulling for Ian to get a Gold Glove. I'm happy V-Mart won the Silver Slugger and would love to see the MVP stay with a Detroit player but realistically, this is probably Trout's year to win it. Qualifiers to V-Mart and Scherzer, I'd be shocked if either accepted. I still think Victor will stay, but I don't think there's a chance Max sticks around. Torii is gone too and Dirks was claimed off waivers so at this point outfield and bullpen are top priorities with another catcher depending on if Avila can play anymore on the list too despite McCann and Holaday.

I fear that my team (Giants) are gonna lose a couple big bats, Panda and Morse. Oh well, still the Champs.

Martin turns down qualifying offer from the Pirates. Color me shocked. Time for the Yankees to swoop in and offer $100 Million because they can and he's the best catcher on the market.

I read that EVERYONE turned it down Yep. I mean, qualifying offers are made so draft picks can be awarded if the player chooses to take their talents elsewhere...and I fully expected Martin to. Stewart and Sanchez can hit pretty well, their play behind the plate is a bit of a question though which is why it was nice to have Martin but we'll live without him if we have to. If we lose Liriano and Volquez, that leaves us with Cole as the only RELIABLE pitcher in the rotation. Morton is a slider ACE when he's healthy, but his hip is going to end his career a hell of a lot sooner than it should. Locke sucks. Cumpton's shaky. I mean, we have Glasnow in AA but he needs at least another season before he's ready. Tallion is JUST starting to toss lightly again after Tommy J surgery...our pitching is going to be a mess. What's worse is next year we get to go through this disaster with Walker and JayHay. After the success the Pirates have had the last couple of years, there will be an absolute REVOLT if the words "rebuild for the future" come out of anyones mouths in the next four or five years. There's no reason Nutting can't open up the book except that he's cheap. He knows jack sh*t about baseball...he should have stuck to owning ski resorts and let Mario Lemieux or Mark Cuban buy the team like they wanted. Even if they know jack squat about baseball, they know the sports industry. Nutting just saw an opportunity to turn a few bucks so he bought the team and refuses to sell. And the organization has the nerve to jack up ticket prices another 15% this upcoming season? Probably just to make up for the amount of fans that won't buy tickets if the Pirates return to form because he's not interested in spending money to make money. I mean for crying out loud, McCutchen is (hopefully) a 2x MVP after this season and he's being paid pennies compared to some players with half of his achievements. He just wanted to stay with the team. Guess what, Nut? Not everyone's gonna be like that. Yeah. I'm ranting.

Clayton Kershaw won the NL CY Young and Corey Kluber won the AL CY Young, should have been Felix Hernandez for the AL

ok good now give the NL MVP to someone who deserves it not a pitcher who just got his own MVP award already
its completely pointless when they award pitchers both awards. i dont care how good they are. the Cy is supposed to be for pitchers. MVP should be for the best position player....the guy who played 150 games...not 30 starts

Trout and Kershaw win MVP. Don't really like MVP being given to pitchers, but it is what it is. Giancarlo Stanton was runner up there.
