I always read posts about BAF's and suggestions people make and had a thought on one. Read on twitter that Joey Styles is having a meet and greet and he's bringing "20 very rare figures from Jakks." My question is would anyone want a Joey Styles BAF? Noone ever seems to mention him. I know I would.

Mattel wants to give us guys who have already been released multiple times. It isnt worth the hassle of tracking them down and having to buy rehashes of peg warmers in order to get a BAF. I'd say just make the Ross, Heyman, Styles figures and sell them to me that way instead of having to play hide and seek with the 1 per case figures.

But if BAFs are the ONLY way Mattel can get us figures like JR, Paul Bearer, Bobby Heenan etc., then long may they continue... I do prefer the Elite BAFs though, as they usually have different attires or accessories.

I am really surprised they haven't done a referee since they don't want to put one out by itself. I think a referee with a head swap would be good like put in Chioda and Robinson so we can have a couple different ones.

I would take one. Not something I think we'll ever see. Agree that the BAF situation totally sucks though.

Yeah I think they should just get rid of BAF Sets. They RARELY have anything I need in those sets anyways and I always end up piecing my BAF figures together via the secondary market or WFigs Classifieds.
To me they don't need these gimmicks to get me to spend my money on their merch. Besides nobody is going I buy a full set other than collectors anyway and YOU KNOW they're already gonna get our money so f*ck em.

Someone has teddy long as a ref in their fed

I'd buy it, sure. I don't think he'd be too viable, though. If the sales of Ricardo, Heyman, and Zeb Colter are any indication, the baf concept has outlived it's usefullness. Suited figures seem to sell okay by their own merits.

I'd certainly buy Styles. And the idea above about a referee is a solid one. Lil Naitch and Chioda would be great. I kitbashed me a referee way back when e2 Batista came out. But still......it looks odd when the same ref is in EVERY match i ever posed and took pics of.....that dude makes some serious overtime pay!

Not sure if I'd need him but I'd prolly breakdown and buy him just strolling down the toy out of shear boredom.
Edit: assuming it wasn't a weak ass BAF.

I like and hate the BAF. I enjoy being able to get an "obscure" figure like Jim Ross or Teddy Long but I hate having to buy a bunch of current guys that I dont collect to get them. Hopefully the Hall of Fame line is a success and we can avoid getting Heenan or Hart in a BAF set with Cena, Sheamus, Bryan or any other current schmuck and just let the go straight to that series.

It would be a little depressing if the first ECW flashback is Joey Styles. I wish they would do a BAF that wasnt som guy with the same suit over and over and over and over and over.
Maybe a flashback they're worried wouldn't sell well. Magnum TA? Harley Race? One Man Gang?

I'd love a Joey Styles. Tried to make one buy the Jakks head is just too big for my taste. They just need to start putting better figs in the BAF series, especially the basics. I want Bearer, but none of the figs in that series are anything I'd buy otherwise.

I don't think people are not suggesting Joey because they don't want him... It's just that Mattel wouldn't make him becauase he hasn't been on TV in five years (or more?) and he isn't exactly a "legend" even if we do all appreciate his work.

Plus, he represents a non-PG time in WWE. In any event, the only BAF I would ever buy (and that means buy all four figures to make) would be if Mattel made Corey Graves in a slick suit and that was the *only* way we were ever going to get a Corey Graves figure because I'd still prefer him in wrestling attire. And I'd probably just end up selling off the four Elites if I didn't like them any way.
