I read an article that wwe.com put up this past weekend, which was covering 10 future stars of wwe, and Ambrose was on that list. It stated that Ambrose will be that next guy to carry the company. I know this is just stuff done to swerve the IWC in a certain direction because we all know that Roman Reigns is poised to be the top guy. But it got me thinking, If Ambrose ever got the ball as the top guy, do you think he would handle it well?
I think that Ambrose has that certain X-factor that 99.9% of the roster doesn't have, and I can't really put my finger on it. It makes him stick out very distinctly. I really think that Ambrose has what it takes to be the number 1 guy in the company. It's very hard to predict who that next guy is. It might not even be Reigns, it might be someone else. Hell, the next guy might not have been signed yet. But I think the only guy that can reasonate with that today's product and help get the ball rolling is Ambrose. The guy has it ALL. Probably the most captivating guy I've seen since Austin. Thoughts?

If WWE builds him right, He can definitely be a top guy. He has what Stone Cold had that made him great. Just let him come out, be a badass and give the teenagers someone cool to root for and they are set.
But this is WWE. They are going to try and force feed you Roman Reigns as the next "it" guy, Despite getting mediocre reactions and still is very green in the ring. If WWE sees someone in someone, They will jam them down your throat instead of letting stars be born naturally.

He does, but whether or not he is capitalised upon is another story...

Probably yes. I'm a big fan. But he's doing too much right now. He hasn't nailed who Ambrose is. Is he that cool and witty smartass? Or is he the tongue wagging psycho? And why does he flip between them so awkwardly? I think about the mannequin segment and, wow that was some rough and terrible crap. So he needs to hone in on what works and what doesn't.

Yes - and no. He has all the tools needed to succeed as a top guy in a pro wrestling federation; he has that aura to him that draws people into what ever he does, he's got the size factor (6'4" 225 lbs.), can cut promos amazingly well, is a great worker, well versed in a variety of different styles - everything it takes to be THE guy in a pro wrestling organization. Unfortunately, the WWE is NOT a pro wrestling organization - at least that's not all they are. Ambrose, to me, seems like a guy who, outside the ring, is a lot like Punk; a loner, who kind of hates being pestered by people outside of the ring. While I can see him wrestling 5 nights a week for as long as his body breaks down, I dunno if he'll be willing to, along with that grueling schedule, also make the numerous media appearances, public meet and greets, and in general handle the spotlight of being the top guy of an International, Multimedia juggernaut. A great example of what I'm getting to is the infamous segment where Rollins got slimed from the MITB briefcase - at the end of the segment, you see Ambrose up in the stands with fans all around him; a fan grabs onto his hand and Ambrose immediately tenses up, not liking the physical interaction one bit. Simply put, his personality isn't one that's receptive to the insanity of being the poster-child of the WWE. Again, this isn't about his talent, at all. But this is one aspect of being the top dog that most fans ignore, and it is perhaps the most important one.

I hate the "top guy" mentality that the WWE has. It would be really nice if we could have 3 or 4 upper echelon, cream of the crop "top guys" rather than just putting all the weight on one guy. A guy like Cena comes along once in a lifetime. If Hogan, HBK, Austin or Rock had to deal with how much media and extra curricular stuff that Cena deals with on a daily basis they would have said " this" and left... The WWE for some reason puts way too much on the plates of their superstars and it would serve the company as a whole better if they had 4 or whatever guys that were as popular as Cena inside the ring to share the responsibilities of doing the radio, TV, make a wish, etc. With all that said, Yes Ambrose has what it takes for to be one of the top guys in the company. I think he comes across "meaner" on TV than he actually is outside of the ring. I've yet to hear a super negative fan interaction with Ambrose. Not that I pay attention to people who report them so...

Absolutely not.
Disregarding how terrible he is, he does not have a mass market appeal like Cena, Hogan, Rock, Austin, Bret etc have/had. He could be the top guy in a company like TNA, because TNA is there to cater to die hard wrestling marks, generally the kind of market that loves the indie darlings. But he'd never sucessfully carry the company to any kind of worldwide success.
He's not the kind of guy that terminally ill children will be wanting to meet. He's just an indie darling, he couldn't carry a company any better than the "black hole of charisma" Cesaro could.

Ambrose seems to have that offish nature that will always keep him as #1 internet guy, but #2 or #3 in reality. But I could see Cena's status/workload eventually being carried by the three Shield guys. WWE will probably never get anyone near the star or workhorse that Cena is ever again, but if they have a few guys up at the top, business can hopefully be stable.

He could absolutely imo. But I'm so scared of WWE dropping the ball with him, I'd be perfectly happy just seeing him around the main event for the rest of his career. He doesn't have to be the next Cena, he can be the next Orton or Punk (I say this in terms of position in the company).

Can he be THE top guy in the company? No.
Can he be A top guy in the company? Yes.
Not alone but as part of a crop of top tier main event players, he can for sure.

The way I see and always have, Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns will be the next wave of Austin, Rock, and Triple H or Cena, Orton and Batista. There's just something about them that resonates that to me.
