The facts are these...the 2013 Toys R Us Mailaway Mankind was indefinitely postponed and eventually sold to Amazon (the highest bidder?) for exclusive release more than a year later. The Spring and Fall 2014 BAF have not been sold at U.S. TRUs, just international TRUs, which are not quite the same company as the American Toys R Us. There is not a TRU exclusive giveaway for 2K15. However, a DX 2 pack promoting 2K15 has recently been released on the heels of the game release, again by Amazon and Kmart. It seems as if there is some friction between Mattel WWE and Toys R Us U.S. will this lead to more problems? We all know TRU selection has been poor in the last year. Will there continue to be more problems down the line? I bring this up because it is starting to effect collectors. What's the deal, Wade? Can anyone elaborate on this?

The problem, no doubt, is dollars and cents. In some capacity.

I asked the manager of my TRU and he says that WWE Figures don't sell that well.
Makes sense though... why would you stock the hell out of product that don't move?

It's a much bigger picture than what a store manager at one location thinks. WWE Mattel is the no. 1 best selling boys action toyline in the world.

This may be a stretch, but I wonder if it has anything to do with TRU gouging their price points? Also, I suppose it's possible the new Defining Moments may have originally been TRU only, based on the Flair only selling at Amazon and Kmart.

And now Target is getting into distributing exclusives Legends/Flashbacks. Who knows this could go back to the horrible Legends 2-pack exclusives debacle from 2010?

First, I think if you're going to make posts, edit your first one. Especially if you're going to post 3 times in a row.
Second, I have no problem believing the post above where the manager said that they don't sell that well. I don't know where you pulled the "Number 1 boys toyline in the world" from but I have a really, really hard time believing that. I can tell you just from my observation of going to stores that they don't sell better than most things. It's probably just an instance where if the stores can make more money with other brands then they will put less emphasis on the brands that they don't make as much on. It's simple business really.

This definitely has to do with Mattel putting out crappy BAF sets that nobody wants. At last visit there were 16 BAF Punks at my TRU. And a million BAF Zigglers and whoevers. They're not selling because they're crap. This is on Mattel.

I thought I remembered hearing around the time of SDCC from maybe even Bill that WWE Mattel was the best selling line. It's easy to generalize and say that your store doesn't sell well. This may be true. It could be a number of outlying factors though: maybe the store underperforms in comparison to other parts of the country.

No doubt TRU overordered the BAF Teddy and Booka sets. And the assortment is pure crap, agreed.

maybe TRU is in an unstable financial situation and Mattel is trying to strengthen its relationship with other stores?

maybe TRU is in an unstable financial situation and Mattel is trying to strengthen its relationship with other stores? This is probably the most likely scenario. They are prepping for the inevitable.

Bring back Children's palace!!!!!! Bring back K B toys!!!! ? I think target and k-mart are better anyways, toys are us never has anything good in my opinion, it always takes so long for things to get there. I will say though,to say Mattel does not sell well every time they would get new stuff in ( wrestling figures) they would be gone next day, ( I check often,I live close to t-r-u,target,k-mrt,)to me it wouldn't matter if t r u went out of business or went away, hell Walmart had more stuff than they do!!!!

Let's just say that Geoffrey, the beloved giraffe and President of Toys R Us, Inc. LLC, visited Mattel HQ recently and WRECKED their bathroom... and several employee break rooms. So yeah, there is somewhat of a "rift".

Flair was sold(online) at TRU, Target, WWE Shop and RSC, not just Amazon and Kmart. Has Mattel ever done a video game, free figure giveaway, I can't remember? Why would them not doing one for 2K15 raise a red flag. They did the All Stars two packs for the WWE All Stars game awhile back and the DX 2-pack for 2k15. So they do tie-in figures for the games, not free figures. However, to your point, if TRU does have an issue with Mattel(which I don't think they do) they need to take a look at themselves. Their pricing drives people to other stores and online. It's not just WWE toys that they do it with, they overprice a lot of items.

I go to TRU about every other week (give or take) and I usually leave with nothing. I go because I like to look around, but the prices are out of control. Fun fact. TRU is selling individual Thumbpers now. $3 a piece. Yes they are.

Half the toys in TRU are Mattel products. Just because WWE figures aren't moving well enough doesn't mean there is a rift. It means TRU doesn't wanna clog their shelves when there are still figures from year old+ series ago shelf warming.

WWE was the #1 selling action figure line of 2013. Sheamus and Del Rio of the baf lines don't sell. That's it.
