Cool. I agreed with your AOU review so hoping for the same here. I hope I don't disappoint ya buddy!!! For me it genuinely harkens back to the sense of wonder and awe that hadn't been present since the original movie y'know ? The last 2 movies had the rescue mission gone wrong vibe plus they were both set on Isla Sorna. This movie while similar to the first feels genuinely fresh and new while at the same time paying the lip service due to the originals magnificence.....and of course its on Isla Nublar where the first movie was set. Going to put it 3rd behind AoU, and Kingsman, but as usual we agree. Loved it. Hell, even my dad liked it, and he doesn't care for the original 3 at all. (their novelty wore off when I watched the first on repeat growing up lol) plus -- it's KILLING at the BO. JW BO

Saw it yesterday and loved it, I'm sure there will be more with how much money it's already made.

It was good, I would say on par with The Lost World. But they had some pretty big continuity issues. For example, the CEO doesn't want Indominus Rex killed originally because it was a $26 million investment. But in the deleted scenes of The Lost World it was revealed that the settlements with the families of Muldoon, Arnold, Gennaro, and the gatekeeper(from the opening scene) for their deaths totaled at around $91 million. That happened when Jurassic Park was without tourists, so why would you risk losing a mere (it feels wrong saying this) $26 million when you have a Park inhabited by over 20,000 people? The possible lawsuit would be ridiculously expensive. And the idea to chase the thing into the Aviary was utterly stupid.
All in all, it was still better than the Third (and as said earlier) on par with The Lost World. I am guessing they are going to be continuing the series since Wu survived yet again, which I'd be up for. While I can raise points of multiple plotholes, they aren't necessarily major ones, like you had in Avatar. This has also been the only dinosaur series (aside from Godzilla and King Kong) that has been worth a damn.

I read somewhere that Jurassic World is a direct sequel to Jurassic Park and it really doesn't include the original sequels. I saw it again friday night, and watching The Lost World right now, the CGI T-Rexs look better in the older movies than it did in Jurassic World IMO. Thats about the only complaint I can find right now. I'll probably be seeing this a few more times in theatres though.

That's right, but his original point stands to reason that the 26 mil mentioned in JW would be directly impacted by the # given in JP1... However, unwritten rule is that nothing that happens in deleted scenes is applicable to the storyline if said storyline harkens back to another movie containing (or not containing) those deleted scenes.

Also, I would have to imagine that something happening to the dinosaur would have a tax deducation worked into it somehow. She ate her brother? That b**** is now worth 52 mil technically! "We can write the brother off." "Oh, alright." -- then same would apply. Movie with giant dinosaurs and a human alpha for the raptors. Best not to think too much, I think? It was still enjoyable.

I will be seeing it in IMAX this week and I just got my Indominus Rex from Walmart tonight lol. I found all of my old JP toys too including the original T-Rex. The quality of the new toys just isn't there though, Kenner knocked them out of the park for the first movie.
So I think there will undoubtedly be a sequel, I just can't imagine what the plot will be now...anyone wanna bounce around their speculation?

This movie is a monster! Early tracking had the film earning about $125 million this weekend and is now on track to have one of the, if not the biggest opening weekends of all time and could gross over $200 million domestically..
Largest Friday opening in history.
Welcome back to Franchise status Jurassic World! But if I'm being completely honest.. I'm more scared than excited for the sequel.. They're definitely going the military route. And unless their military experiment goes horribly wrong, and we end up with a 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' scenario where the dinosaurs eventually start over populating the earth again.. I have ZERO interest.
I don't want dinosaurs with machine guns, I don't want human/dinosaur hybrids.. I'm not interested in watching InGen send in a flock of raptors to attack ISIS.

Movie was ok some summer blockbuster fun but most of it was incredibly dumb. Way better than 3, but doesn't hold a candle to the original or even to lost world

The CGI for the T-Rex in 'The Lost World' gets hated on for absolutely NO reason.. I've seen that CGI T-Rex model stand up to stuff that was released in the last couple years.. It was absolutely incredible. Especially when it was in San Diego. Ole Rexy in 'Jurassic World' definitely felt odd.. Amazing for sure, but the CGI for it felt a bit weird.. That and her roar. I expected that roar to be more bellow.. I might be nitpicking.

I think I loved it. It was everything I could have wanted/expected as a 25 year old lifelong fan seeing a new Jurassic Park movie in 2015.

LOVED IT!
There are two scenes that are so absolutely ridiculous, that you'd have to be a fun-hating Serious Sam to not enjoy them. I'm going to see it again.

Trevorrow revealed in an interview that the other two sequels weren't being written out of continuity, rather they were just being put to the side as they were on a different island. With that statement it could also be assumed that the endings to those two are still intact, even though they occurred off the islands. I am hoping that, like the Star Wars Prequels, each of the Sequels is better than its proceeding film (i.e. SW E3 > SW E2 > SW E1).

Universal have stated that TLW and JP3 are NOT being ignored. As stated above they happened on Isla Sorna. There's really no reason to reference them.
2nd biggest opening weekend of all time behind Avengers....that's DAMN impressive.

There's really no reason to reference them. 2nd biggest opening weekend of all time behind Avengers....that's DAMN impressive. Maybe not buddy.. "When the dust settles tomorrow morning, Universal’s Jurassic World may post the biggest opening ever at the domestic B.O. with an estimated FSS of $208M-$210M, which would overtake previous champ Disney’s Marvel The Avengers — that film has held the title for the last three years with $207.4M. Industry estimates, as of this evening, peg JW‘s Sunday at $55M-$57M which would rep a 19-21% decline from Saturday’s $70M. JW is Universal’s widest release ever at 4,274. Legendary co-financed 25% of the Steven Spielberg produced movie. Will it make it? Stay tuned."

I'd assume the skeleton of the spinosaurus on display is a nod towards JP3.
I enjoyed it. Not nearly as good as part 1, but that's no surprise. I'd say it was on par with LW which I always liked. And far better than JP3 which had very few redeeming qualities IMO.
