I hope Sting doesn't face Triple H at Wrestlemania.
Sting looked like he blew out his back with the scorpion death drop he gave Triple H last night.
Sting also looked like an old man last night too. Sting can just get his HOF award now and keep that Legends deal he signed and never step foot into a WWE ring again.

For years, Sting was always named as the top guy to have never been in the WWE.
Now that is changing, who would you say is the biggest currently active name to have never been part of the WWE?
Personally, i have to go with the Great Muta. He is one of the biggest names in wrestling, even heard the announcers have referred to him multiple times recently. I have to admit, it would be a total dream for me to see Muta in a WWE ring.
So yea, i have to say Muta is now the biggest name to have not wrestled for WWE, what about you guys?

lol this is exactly a thread from r/squaredcircle
be that as it may, ill toss out the name AJ Styles. LOL. he isnt an enormous name, but he has found a ton of success this year and i can imagine his stock as a performer went up quite a bit when he and TNA went their separate ways.
and yes, i know he has had dark matches with wwe, but can you really count a dark match?

Add Jushin "Thunder" Liger to the list. I would love for him to make his debut. I'm shocked that McMahon hasn't gotten him yet he and Mutha would be money.

Even if he hadn't worked a WWE match before, Styles I don't think would even make my top 10.

There aren't any. Anybody that ever really meant anything in global/mainstream wrestling since the rock & wrestling explosion has done it now. This is evident from one of the first replies being AJ Styles, who is essentially an utter nobody.

Id still put Muta as a name that is pretty identifiable in the US, he is a bonafide mega star in his native japan and an undeniable legend of wrestling.

Technically speaking he did step in a WWE ring during the last Nitro, since Vince owned it at that point.

Johnny Kidd, as one of the few remaining relics of World of Sport. It's still pretty surreal that Robbie Brookside works for WWE in 2014.

If you asked 100 people in the street in the US to name ten wrestlers, Muta's name would likely never come up once. His heyday in the US happened before WCW became relevant, and he only made fleeting appearances in weak storylines once WCW mattered. The only big stars in wrestling that didn't come out of the WWF are the major WCW names from the Monday Night Wars, and they've all made the leap now. Sting was the last one. I'm trying to think who the closest to a star is... Did Kevin Sullivan ever wrestle in WWE? Mongo McMichael did stuff in the LT-Bigelow feud, so he's out. Got it. It's Dennis Rodman. And if he doesn't count... Major Gunns or Disco Inferno, if they never jumped.

Mainstream and global wise I see how you can say AJ is a nobody, but in the world of professional wrestling AJ Styles is far from a nobody.

There are a TON of Japanese stars who are basically gods over there who never worked for WWE. Misawa, Lyger, Muta, Kobashi, Sasaki, Kawada just to name a few. All of them are (or were) among the best in the entire world, but their styles wouldn't mesh with WWE at all.

yea there's really no one.
guys in Japan are huge.....in Japan. Same with guys in Mexico.
they dont translate in the US except when the WWE is trying to oversell something. in the world of people who are fans of US pro wrestling I'd say Styles...but even he already had a dark match once awhile back. So there's no one left.

I don't think there are any big name guys left. There are a bunch of current and former ROH and TNA guys that would be great in the WWE if properly used, but none of their debuts would be shocking to anyone outside of the IWC. There are also a bunch of foreign wrestlers, almost exclusively from Mexico and Japan but their debuts would surprise fewer people. Unfortunately it seems that the era of surprise debuts is over.
