So WWE at the end of this "free" month, WWE will have probably peaked their subscriber count on the Network. So, whatcha gonna do, brother, when the subscribers run away from you?!?! WWE can either maintain the "9.99" price, and pray people don't cancel.
or
WWE can increase the subscription price, potentially making more revenue, but risking a mass exodus of subscribers. Both are plausible options, but which would make more money?

A price increase isn't plausible. They already had to scrap the $12.99 option. The rate at which people cancel WWE Network is pretty high, so they don't want to give consumers any more reason to jump off.

A price increase would be a really bad idea at this stage, IMO. I can't see them retaining enough subscribers to make the price hike worthwhile for them (let's say it's a 30% increase...they'd need to retain about 77% of current subscribers just to break even with what they're earning from it now, and I don't see that happening, no less actually making more from it). Plus, imagine the 9.99 chants afterward. Maybe a year or so down the road once they stabilize, but not now.

Keep it as is for now...with the 6-month commitment officially scrapped, I would assume there's hope @ Stamford that it'll entice more people to sign up and give it at least a month's try in an attempt to rake in more cash from those that want to give it a look. Raising the subscription price right now will only cause even more cancellations and lowering it will be even less profitable for WWE. If they see a positive turnaround in a one-year span, then raising the price could be considered down the road.

Soooo the hulkster said so That's just the six shows you would get if you subscribed right then that would fall into the six month commitment time frame. The PPVs will still be on the Network beyond Royal Rumble.

Getting rid of the network now would be stupid. Dumb idea.
Me personally... I wouldn't worry about it much. I'd still promote it regularly. But I'd focus on improving the TV product and make PPV's can't miss. Eventually viewership will climb. Rome wasn't built in a day, and WWE should have set more realistic standards for the first year. But I'm confident it will get there in due time.

It will stay 9.99, they can't raise it because people won't even pay that, and they can't decrease it because they'll lose even more money. They've really backed themselves into a corner with this network, from alienating PPV providers, to having to cut budget like 10 mil or whatever and by not actually putting up all old shows. I hope they start to realize their coasting isn't going to cut it if they want this to be a success.

They wouldn't do it but I'd still subscribe to the Network if there was a price rise.

Let be debunk some of the things in this thread. the PPV and satellite providers in the United States are getting screwed over by the WWE. Looking at the cost of a WWE PPV on PPV, the WWE gets about 21-22 dollars from every household that orders it on PPV. The less people buy the events on PPV, the cable and satellite providers lose out from that additional revenue. Since people are getting used to paying $9.99 a month for their monthly PPV fix, there is no way you can entice people to fork over $54.95 now. People are saving money by subscribing to the network. saving money has its own share of sacrifices. I can see the WWE increasing the subscription cost. While an unpopular move for some but, the WWE could use the additional cost to pay for keeping the network afloat.
It is going to be interesting when the next subscriber count comes out in January/February.
