Oh my God.. I just realized.. NOW they've included Matt Stone and Trey mother ing Parker! This could really end up paying off for some of us with a simple South Park episode from two of the most viciously creative people to ever exist. I can't even IMAGINE how incredible that would be.. They might burn the stage down and drop the goddamn mic with an episode related to all of this. A giant F you. Do a South Park/Team America cross over, and do an elaborate 3 part storyline with Kim Jong Un as the main villain. And it's set up like the movie 'Edge of Tomorrow'.. Where Kim Jong keeps going back in time to stop the making of either movie and he keeps dying over and over again. Each time getting a little closer before dying an even more brutal death.

The movie was a stupid idea to begin with. If another country made a movie about how awesome 9/11 was, I'm sure in America that there would be outrage. And really, North Korea should be treated as heroes for preventing another piece of crap James Franco movie to come out. I think as a showing of good will and apology that America should send James Franco to North Korea to be executed. While it's not a pro 9/11 movie, Death Of a President came out in 2006 and no one really gave a Damn. So I highly doubt there would be much outrage.

Not even remotely comparable situations either. 9/11 is a real thing that happened that killed thousands of people. This is a fictional, hypothetical death of a single person. A better analogy would be if a country made a movie about killing the President. The difference being that even with how much Obama gets JO'd, we don't worship him like N Korea does to Un. We wouldn't go to ing war over a silly movie. EDIT: and now I clicked the link above and see what that was about, which kind of proves my point.

I think of it like this... if some other country made a comedy about killing Obama, I wouldn't really be offended, nor would I want the US to intervene with its release so as to prevent it from happening.
If the comedy's good, anything can be a joke.

Now we just have to sit back and see if America threatens to bomb North Korea if they make a film about killing James Franco and Seth Rogen....

The media is pushing this as the beginning of some sort of cyberwar with the United States striking back at North Korea with hacking and freezing of bank accounts.
The media needs to stfu right now. This is an agenda that I do not want to see pushed.. I give a damn right now, because this all kinda feels like the beginning of how they regulated the internet.
And why can't our country show their work? You 100% absolutely KNOW it was North Korea.. Cool, prove it. I'd like to know how you know.. North Korea is starting to heavily deny this and I'm starting to get skeptical about all of it.

Its because more than half of the US would more than likely pay to see a movie about Obama being killed. Oh and I didn't see this much of an uproar when Hitler got HIS face blown to bits in "Inglorious Basterds".

The majority does come from America, with all other countries lagging behind but to say because they didn't come from America they're not important is asinine. Even outside the US and the UK, you still have movies like The Artist, Blue is the Warmest Colour, any Bruce Lee film, the list goes on and on. The most powerful countries are English speaking, so it's only natural that the UK and US have the majority of important films. There are some incredible foreign films though. Pan's Labrynth springs to mind instantly. I love Pan's Labyrinth - in my top 100 of all time ** honestly, what did Sony expect - from spoilers, it's absolutely "poking the bear" & without rules over there...IF it was them, then it's not shocking since they said it was a declaration of war everyone that says Sony caved.... 1. all movie theaters made their decisions NOT to show it first 2. they were being sued by former employees & showing it could've been negligent considering they "knew the risks 3. they were trying to stop the bleeding & do something - now they can't win because the president & every actor thinks they're weak? if an attack happened at their hand, because of their movie, they would've had to live with it (plus people pointing fingers) 4. why not shelve it for now until the hackers are identified?? seems like the smart thing to do I think they made the right choice given the circumstance... artistic expression is one thing, but IMO, why make a movie poking the bear when the bear has nuclear capabilities & no ability to properly rationalize & communicate

Another movie that nobody gave a damn about was Confederate States of America. It took place in an alternate south where they won the Civil War or something along those lines

Pretty sure Franco and Rogan would take that as joke/compliment lol. I mean America would cry if NK made a movie about killing Obama but it's fine for us to do it to them? I'm the last person that wants censorship and garbage like that but this was a little far.

While it's not a pro 9/11 movie, Death Of a President came out in 2006 and no one really gave a Damn. So I highly doubt there would be much outrage. Another movie that nobody gave a damn about was Confederate States of America. It took place in an alternate south where they won the Civil War or something along those lines Both of those movies are mockumentaries about what could happen if history played a different way. They aren't stoner comedies about killing a current dictator that we aren't on good terms with. They're also independent films that most of the the population doesn't look at, unlike the Sony produced Interview. I think comparing the two without actually bringing in context is a weak point to drag in. I think Sony will release this between January and March, a notably weak time for movies. This is all starting to play out like a bad PR move to drum up more business. Until the threat came in, no one really cared about the Interview and considering other releases it probably wouldn't have been close to the top of the box office. Now Sony can market it as "THE FILM NORTH KOREA DOESNT WANT YOU TO SEE" and they can rake in money in the first part of the year. How they release it, who knows? Maybe some theaters will carry it, maybe it will be VOD or online. When it first got pulled and Sony was apparently discussing "Premium VOD", it really looked like they were setting up for something that's been getting teased for years. It really looks like a plot for more money to be made to me.

I thought we were talking about a movie? America didn't make the movie. America really doesn't have anything to do with the movie being made or not. And anyway, America would suffer a few losses, but we'd wipe North Korea under our boot in less than 3 months should we go to war with them. Everybody knows that, it's just that we don't want to. America doesn't want to go to war, but it's not because they're scared that North Korea is a threat. Okay. This is clearly not going to end well, so I'll step away. You keep believing that the United States isn't afraid of going to war with certain countries (North Korea being one of them). Whatever helps you sleep at night. To be fair, it not the North Koreans the US is worried about. Its the Chinese. There's just a thin line there thats best not to cross. We could wipe N. Korea off the map if we truly wanted to. China is like the "big brother" to North Korea. The US has already asked China to help confront North Korea about the hacks. That's kinda China's part of the world and its best if we just stay out of it to avoid conflict with them.

Sony is now denying the release of 'The Interview' on Crackle.
And I'm slowly starting to lose interest...

Man that was brilliance. I love the shots he took at himself with "The Love Guru". I know there is no reason for it to be made, other than Austin and Evil trying to take down Scotty, but man I would Love to see a 4th Austin Powers movie. That and the ever elusive 3rd Wayne's World.
