I'm amazed people don't like the scan. To me, it's one of the best figures scans I've ever seen. And I wasn't even a Hulk-a-Maniac! Looks just like this... Consider your Andre/M$M pose stolen on my shelf! Have at it man.

I'm very happy with the figure and the more I look at him, the more I like it. Is it perfect? No, but I feel "perfection" is unachievable at this scale (though, NECA comes close). I think a lot of us get hung up on "realism" and "authenticity" when it comes to these figures and we forget that Mattel's WWE line is really more caricature-like and meant to be exaggerated versions of real people. Within those parameters, he fits in perfectly with the rest of the line. When was it ever said that these figures were supposed to be "more caricature-like and meant to be exaggerated versions of real people"?
When Mattel first started their WWE line, Toyfare magazine did a huge article with Mattel where they stated that their figures were supposed to be the very best representations of WWE superstars ever created. They were supposed to be the most lifelike, to scale, with correct heights and body types of any wrestling figures ever produced.
I believe that Mattel has done a great job, for the most part, with their sculpts and accuracy, but I believe a lot of the problems lie in their paint apps. You can see some great sculpts sometimes underneath some horrible pant jobs. I think that the eyes are a big part of it. Big, overly painted cartoony eyes. Derpy eyes that look in different directions. Just look at your collections an count how many figures have horrible paint apps... especially in the eyes.
That being said, I believe this Hogan figure is nice. Again, I will restate that the only problem I have with it is the pale skin tone.

You misinterpreted what I meant. Nobody said that, that's just what the line is. If you want realism look at Hot Toys or NECA. This line is "realistic" in the Mattel-style, like what they've done with Ghostbusters and Movie Masters, which is a more cartoonish appearance (ex. no nipples, softer facial sculpts, no shading, etc) Don't get me wrong, this isn't a knock on Mattel. I love this style for WWE and I've collected the line since 1-1-10! I'm just pointing out what the line is as opposed to what people think it is (partly due to the way Mattel markets it). So, this version of Hogan fits in perfectly with what the line has always been. This is the WWE line I wanted. I never liked Jakks' WWE stuff and so never collected it. When I started seeing the Mattel stuff on shelves, I knew I was in for the long haul. Finally getting Hogan really cements this as THE collection and not just A collection. Oh, and I remember that ToyFare article, it was great! I kept it on the throne and would reread it constantly.

I see the pics and you really have to kind of fake it to get Hogan to do signature poses and taunts like the ear cup.
For the extra money DM costs,we could've gotten articulated hands or extra hands. Flexing the pythons look terrible without double joints.

I fiddled with the shirt some more. I wanted it tucked in to the championship but have him still ripping it off... More fans would complain about that than anything. No thanks.

Flexing the pythons look terrible without double joints. So, to make it more accurate, we give it more than two hands?

I personally think it's a great figure. Now I've only seen pics as I don't actually own the figure yet, so that being said, my only gripe is the scale. To me I don't think they captured his 6'7 frame well.

Is the Hogan 86 Belt longer than normal?? It seems like the Strap is longer than most of my other Mattel VAC Belts.

But still dosent fit guys like Show/Vader/Henry I don't see any flaws with this figure and it's the definitive hogan figure imo

It looks like it was made to only fit perfectly around the outside of the yellow rubber shirt. Is this indeed the case??

I've managed to get my shirt into a pretty wide tearing look. If it's not like that, I pretty much don't even like the "torn" shirt idea at all. What makes it harder is that the arms not having double hinge elbows really don't allow for the proper range of motion to pull this look off correctly.
But this is what I was able to come up with -
without a belt -
I think that looks alright. Not the best, but I think it's the best I'm gonna get out of this figure.
My complaints - I really wish we could have gotten an "unripped" shirt to go along with this. As posing him with the shirt on but not ripping it, is pretty useless. He basically has 1 worthwhile look, and that's what I have pictured above. Anything else just doesn't cut it. Shirtless with bandana, don't like it. No shirt, no bandana, don't like it.
I know we never get double hinge elbows on wwe figures, but I really think this figure could have used it. Not to mention all "elite" level figures. But this one in particular because of the ripped shirt feature, just not working well without the extra elbow joints.
I wish the holes in the hair which hold the bandana were a little tighter to the head. These ones stick out pretty bad when the bandanna is not on.
Overall I really dig the figure. I remember a few years back being at Comic Con asking about the possibility of them doing a Hulk Hogan figure, they said they had the rights, just nothing to announce at the time. It's been a long wait, but it's worth it.

I hate double hinged elbows. Never has a ML figure's with double jointed elbow had arms that looked right when bent. At least with the knees the pads hide them, but there's more wrestlers who don't have elbow pads than do. So they would just be an eye sore.

And I don't really understand the complaints about the "holes in his head": 1. they are not in his head - they are in his hair at the side 2. they are barely noticeable as "holes" - they just look like part of the hair-style 3. at least Mattel are giving you the option of removing Hulk's bandana... all the Jakks (and Hasbro) ones were fixed or molded on 4. if you don't like the "holes", just leave the bandana on - most people will probably display him like this anyway(!) 5. get over it and stop being so picky - this is the best '80's Hogan figure EVER

I didn't watch a lot of porn in the 70's. That said, I love this figure and can't wait to get my hands on one!!!

Q: Can you pose the shirt with the two sides held in each hand or is that not possible? While I like the young look for Hogan, but at times, I wish his face was more expressive. I'm starting to dislike these neutral face sculpts. (Basic 44 Kane, I'm looking at you, brother.) The dead eyes are what irk me. Barely, it's difficult to do so and probably won't stay. I added a little hot glue to mine and it didn't stay. Anyway, the figure looks great. I'm not nearly as picky as you all but I understand that we're paying top dollar for these figs and you want them to look good.

for $25/$30 we should have gotten a cloth tank top. ESPECIALLY since the new Elite was just shown and it comes with 2 plastic shirts, a plastic boa & a pair of sunglasses
thats my only "beef" with that figure
