Who is your favorite team(s)' cult hero? A smaller player known for clutch heroics or just for fun. As a Tigers fan, Don Kelly is not just the cult hero, but one of my personal favorite (now former) Tigers. He was the first, and I think at this moment the only current player, to have played all nine positions in a season. Who is yours?

Bill Mazeroski. His stats were respectable for his days as a player, but the ninth inning walk off Jack to take down the Yankees is still the thing of legend today. Maz has said numerous times he believes that's the only reason he went into the Hall of Fame.

John Taylor- If I told you to name a 49ers WR from the late 80s/early 90s not named Jerry Rice, most couldnt do it. If I told you to name the player Montana threw a TD pass to in the closing seconds of SB XXIII, most would say Jerry Rice....John Taylor was clutch.

Braves: Mark Lemke maybe. Look at his 1991 post season stats and you'll see why.
Falcons: Scott Case. Hard hitting very good safety from the late 80s / early 90s. Was REALLY good, on some BAD Falcons teams. Fans loved him.
Hawks: Spud Webb. Most people know only Wilkins from the Hawks, and some remember Spud Webb from winning the slam dunk contest. Definitely a scrappy dude who the fans loved.

Toughest guy on the team and he's 165 pounds soaking wet. Also, probably Dave Bolland for netting the GW in the 17 seconds of glory against Boston. He was pretty great during the 09-10 run though as an actual contributor and was kind of that Shaw-esque guy at that time. He was more so on his way out the second time around, the love affair had ended before that goal anyway.

I am a Boston Celtics fan and the first person who comes to mind is "White Mamba" Brian Scalabrine I loved him as a New Jersey Net. He even helped save them in a Triple OT playoff game against the Pistons in 2004.

Huh interesting question.. I'd say for the Giants two of the first guys who come to mind are Will Clark or J.T. Snow. Locally, they are a big deal and they were great players... Each helping their teams get to the World Series, neither winning. They will never be HOFers, but solid stats; Clark was a pretty clutch hitter .303 lifetime with a little under 300 HR's. Snow collected 6 Golden Gloves.
