The trailer dropped today for what I believe is the best TV show out there today:
Anyway, thoughts? Predictions? I've booked Friday 27th February off work so I can beast the whole season in a weekend. So excited! Also delighted Spacey won the Golden Globe yesterday, richly deserved. Here is his acceptance speech (NSFW as he drops an F bomb):
If this thread is still in use as of 27/02/15, then rules for spoilers should be: all spoilers posted in white for at least 2 weeks (until Friday 13th March). For those of you that don't know, to do so you put color=white in [] brackets at the start of your spoiler and then /color in [] brackets at the end of it. I would also recommend that you put what episode(s) your spoiler is relevant to so people who have seen it can discuss without fear of the discussion being further on than they are. For example (not an actual spoiler):
Episode 9 (Chapter 35): I can't believe Frank had a 5-way with Freddy, Lucas, Tusk and the Russian President.

Thank you for this.
I don't have Netflix; I prefer watching shows I like on DVD so I waited until seasons 1 and 2 were out and watched them intently...season one was a breath of fresh air to me; compelling, rich original drama that urged me to keep watching...
I don't like to burn myself out on shows I'm intrigued by so I paced myself, and was enthralled with season one pretty much start to finish.
Season two, however, had episodes "chapters" that to me personally felt like the show was treading water; as well as putting in shocking things for the sake of being shocking...Xander Feng is kinky? That's great...
Still a good season, and I hate comparing things, but season one by far interested me more than season two...
I'm very interested in season three now that Frank is President...and congrats to Kevin Spacey, who impressed me more than twenty years ago when I first saw him in one of my favourite movies, 'Swimming With Sharks'.

I can't wait. One of the best shows on "tv".
I wonder if that journalist will expose this terrible human being.

You have obviously seen the original English version starring Ian Richardson as Francis Urquarht Mike? the 2nd season of that "To Play the King" in which he goes up against the newly crowned King(obviously based on Charles) is amongst my favourite TV series EVER. the first is excellent too but TPTK contains some of the best dialogue EVER as he puts the King in his place....... Just brilliance. no wonder the Royals took "umbridge" with it

I am likely going to start binge watching this later today.
If I can do it I will try to have it done by the weekend and if not then in a couple of days considering I am a big fan of the show.

Really enjoyed seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 was by far the worst. Terrible season.
Very few things that I did like.

Really enjoyed seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 was by far the worst. Terrible season. Very few things that I did like. Why is that? It was different, with everything being much more of a struggle for Frank, but I still enjoyed it. Hoping that Season 4 will see him end on a high note rather than continue to struggle before falling.

Didn't care for Frank and Claire fighting.
The stuff with Doug's recovery and him with Rachel dragged on. I really struggled to care about it and in the end I didn't care one bit.
Didn't really care for the book stuff.
Didn't like that they just had a throwaway line about Mendoza. They should have shown more of his downfall.
I was put off by Frank spitting on Jesus.
I did like the Jackie and Heather stuff. Amworks stuff was also good.
This didn't affect my liking of the season but I was hoping that Jackie would have turned out to be an amazing candidate and then turns down Frank (and Heather) because it looks like she could actually win and then maybe she does win Iowa.

I agree about Mendoza; it was quite odd. They should have shown it, as it was a rare boost to Frank when his (seeming) main competitor gets thrown out of the race.
I thought Frank spitting on Jesus was a great scene (with it falling down) personally.
I was disappointed the book stuff didn't really lead to anything.
I really liked AmWorks.
All in all I did enjoy it (a lot), but a lot did feel like building up to what I'm hoping is a mental Season 4. It could go either way; either it was the beginning of the end for Frank or it was the dip before his biggest triumph. I hope he gets re-elected, and it ends with him implementing AmWorks and getting away with everything.

I didn't like this season because it felt like nothing got resolved (and what did get resolved was underwhelming). The first two seasons seemed like chapters of a story. This one seemed like half a chapter. That being said, I was still plenty entertained. I just won't be so amped for next season as I was for this one.

Just finished this afternoon. I loved it!!! I can't wait for season 4. I can't imagine imagine how any fans of the first two seasons didn't enjoy this one. Here are some parting thoughts... (SPOILERS BELOW) I feel so bad for Rachel. That was a pretty disturbing sequence.
I thought the Russian president was a great character. Total dick who could match wits with Frank.
The Mendoza thing confused me as well. But it wasn't that big of a deal to me.
The novelist was annoying. I thought the actor for the part was miscast as well. He wasn't believable at all to me as an award-winning novelist. Some of his words and questions seemed forced.
Freddie is kind of a dick.
I like Gavin, but at the same time it pissed me off that he got away and had Rachel's life saved... But he had to overdraw and want even more after lying to Doug. If he had shut his mouth he would be fine overseas and Rachel would be alive. All thrown away for some fat computer geek friend of his who also broke the law.
Claire, is by far, the most annoying character on this show. The crap she pulled in Russia was one thing... But her behavior at the end was insane. I'll be pretty pissed off if that bitch is what sinks Frank in the end. I will say that this is where the writing of this show confuses me. Claire is portrayed to be a woman who is ruthless and doesn't care what anyone thinks. Yet, she has an entire personality meltdown and change after some random rude housewife criticizes marriage. Was there not one episode like halfway through the season where Frank and Claire overcome a major fight and renew their vows and become closer than ever? That was all undone just like that? Whatever. Stupid bitch.
That said, her actions led to a performance by Spacey in the second to last scene of the finale should get him a ing Emmy. Still feeling chills from that one!

Claire sucks. Let's be real. Claire sucks. Can't wait for season 4, this ultimately felt like filler though.
