Doesn't the NXT Championship feel like what the IC Championship used to be back in the 80s/early 90's. The current IC champioship seems like just a prop, but the NXT Championship feels like your the next BIG star! I love it! What does everyone else think?

I wouldn't go that far. I think people crap on the IC title too often. While guys like Ziggler, Barrett, Miz, Harper, & Rhodes have all helped make that title actually mean something. Not saying it's as prestigious as it used to be, but it's hardly as bad as people make it out to be.

Not at all. The Intercontinental Championship was a huge commodity sought after by big name talent and it was held in high regard by the majority of fans. The NXT Championship is the lead title on a show hardly anyone watches held by guys that the vast majority of the audience has never heard of.
That's not meant to take anything away from NXT. It's consistently the best weekly show WWE puts out, and its roster is loaded with future stars. But, to the majority of the audience, they're nobodies until they show up on Raw.

The NXT Championship Title is as much the new Intercontinental Championship Title as the TNA Championship Title is the new WCW Championship Title, and as the ROH Championship Title is the new ECW Championship Title...it's not. The NXT Championship Title is more like the new Internet Championship Title that Zack Ryder created, only it's actually defended. I do, however, think the Internet Championship Title Belt looks better than the NXT Championship Title Belt.

The Zack Ryder Internet Belt wasn't worth the scrap metal value. is the NXT belt like the IC,no. It is it's own separate entity used in building the WWE machine. Same with the tag team and women's titles.

The old World Heavyweight Championship became the Intercontinental Title over time.

I feel like the NXT Titles feel important because the writing staff put an emphasis on making them seem important. When the NXT title changes hands it feels like a big deal. When Charlotte gets dethroned, it's going to feel like a big deal. The tag titles are the only ones that don't feel super important but I think that's due to a lack of tag teams in NXT. Beyond the Vaudevillains and the Lucha Dragons you really only have like... Big Cass and Enzo as one of the other tag teams that wouldn't just be a pair of guys thrown together.

The way they booked Zayn to win the NXT Title, you would think it's the most important strap in the company. I don't think you can convince anyone, the wrestlers who have won it included, that it's bigger than the IC Title though. Especially, since Ziggler just had that ladder match with Harper not that long ago in one of the most memorable IC Title matches we've seen in years.
Does being NXT Champion mean something? Absolutely. You can't undersell it now because it's a weekly televised show with quarterly PPVs, that is comfortably the best formatted show WWE has, and the most entertaining imo. However, it's still developmental. Guys dream about shows like WrestleMania and wearing the same IC title as Mr. Perfect, Macho Man, and The Rock. Being NXT Champion means you're the biggest fish in the developmental pond, well close enough anyway. It means you're a guy WWE sees on the main roster someday, relatively soon.
As has been pointed out, it comes down to eyes. How many people saw you do it. I wish every single fan who watches Raw or Smackdown every week would watch NXT so they would hold the main product to a higher standard, but that isn't the case. You sign a developmental deal in order to one day perform in front of thousands of people and reach the mountain top in one shape or another, be that making it on the Mania card or being WWE Champion. So the NXT title is a nice stopping point, not a destination.

I think the reason why the IC Title sucks so bad right now is cause "Jobs while being Champion" Wade Barrett has it. The guy is boring, and constantly seems to lose non-title matches while being IC Champion.
Why the WWE felt the need to put the IC Strap on that guy again is just beyond me. I think Luke Harper should have won it back and started up a feud with Dean Ambrose leading into Wrestlemania 31 for the IC Title.
It would beat seeing Barrett with the strap.

Barrett feels like a transitional champion to me right now. Maybe even to Ambrose. Seems like he's the setup for a babyface win heading into Mania. Kind of a shame, I was thinking Barrett and Ziggler were going to have a killer set of matches. Maybe they still will and the fired angle was a way to get them to Mania without over playing it.

The old World Heavyweight Championship became the Intercontinental Title over time. Except when Cena held it of course

As of this writing, the NXT Championship is in a league of its own and is perhaps the most prestigious title in all of WWE, maybe even in all of pro wrestling. The current WWE WHC can't even compare with it right now...

They're not even close. I'm not even sure how anybody could come to that conclusion.

No, the NXT Championship is not like the Intercontinental Championship of the late eighties and early nineties.
The Intercontinental Championship in 1992 main-evented a pay-per-view with 80,000 in attendance.
The NXT Championship main-events pay-per-views with about 400 people in attendance.

The IC Title during the golden era was not held by up and comers, it was held by men that could draw houses. The IC Title mainevented Wrestlemania 6.

The current WWE WHC can't even compare with it right now... Becks007, look man, I know you just got the NXT Championship Title Belt. I know you love it so much. You know how I feel about the design. Appearance aside, you can't possibly seriously mean that. The NXT Championship Title Belt being ugly is only an opinion, fine. To say it's the most prestigious Title in all of WWE is a flat out lie. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only time that ugly Belt appeared on international TV was when Seth Rollins confronted CM Punk. Let's not get carried away here. From left tip to gold tip, the Spinner was a better design, and more prestigious than the NXT Belt. From left tip to gold tip, the WWECW Big Platinum was a better design, and more prestigious than the NXT Belt. That's like saying a college trophy is more prestigious than its professional counter part. I don't even like the current design of the Intercontinental Championship Title Belt, but to say the NXT Championship Title Belt is the best in all of WWE is just wrong.

I wouldn't say they are much alike really. I see your point but the NXT is strictly a developmental title.

i disagree. if the championship and ic championship were '1a' and '1b' respectively, then the championship compared to the nxt title is like '1a' to '2a'. different leagues.
