The Ascension should be able to beat the Outlaws in like 30 seconds. There is literally no reason you can give me that would convince me that in the year 2015 that the New Age Outlaws should be going over cleanly to any tag team on the roster. Especially not one that is comprised of two guys that are at least 11 years younger than the youngest Outlaw. The match shouldn't happen to begin with but if it is then it needs to be over quick and The Ascension needs to murder them to show they aren't a tag team to around with.

I like the NXT version of the Acension. Part of me does want the Outlaws to win at Rumble and Acension win at Fast Lane.

This is exactly how it should be booked if they want the Ascension to be a legit part of the division. Just look what happened to one of the best tag teams in recent memory, the Brotherhood, when they lost the belts to them.

Nothing about them has been impressive to me so far. Only really seen them do squash matches. Their look sucks, their gimmick is awful, and they are as bad on the mic as anybody who gets to touch one. I'd much rather see Kidd/Cesaro get to work with the Outlaws.

Unfortunately, it seems The Ascension has been ruined with how they've been handled thus far on WWE TV. And that's a shame, because I'm a huge Ryan O'Reilly (Konnor) fan from his FL indy days, and it seems I've been waiting forever for him to finally make it to WWE proper.

I loved the Ascension in NXT but WWE seems to be determined to destroy them. My guess is the Outlaws beat them easily at the Rumble and we don't see them on RAW or Smackdown again for a long time if ever again.

That doesn't help the Ascension at all. Neither does beating random nobodies on a weekly basis. I agree, but I prefer they squash jobbers for a few weeks instead of having 17 rematches with Los Matadores. It also does more for them than losing to the Outlaws. This is not a case where "just being in the ring with those guys" is enough to help them. The Outlaws are not that kind of team.

If this entire industry boiled down to "the younger guy should win" then it'd be hideously boring. #2 The whole point of this would be to give the Ascension the bigger win, more memorable win.

No one is going to remember an NOA/Ascension match at WM. Shoot, I forgot that they had a match with Kane last year against The Shield. And the way things are going, the Uso's may not even defend the titles at WM so why would that match be on the card? If that does happen, it should be at Fast Lane. The segment last night was cool, until the beat down, but getting something more than just at a match at the Rumble is unlikely.

I don't get the ascension hate. Neither LOD nor Demolition were gods on the mic or in the ring. They have potential and they're drawing heat. If they were to get released I hope they go to Japan. They'd get respect and proper booking there.

Outlaws will win, get attacked after the match....Dudley Boyz make the save.
That's how I would book it.

Actually, having The Ascension go through old tag teams would be a cool way to build them up. They could be the "legends killers" of the tag division. At least it's something different than beating nameless, faceless jobbers every week.
At Royal Rumble they go over The Old Age Outlaws in 6 seconds.
Then they can go over APA and others.
The Ascension got their asses kicked on Raw for a good while and should NOT also lose to the Outlaws at the Rumble as well.

Whether you like them or not, the Outlaws are highly regarded as one of the best teams of all time for a reason.

We shouldn't even be having this conversation, because the Ascension has no business being on the main roster. They were unimpressive in NXT and even more so since being called up. Other than getting cheap heat for mentioning themselves in the same breath as LOD and other greats.

Whether you like them or not, the Outlaws are highly regarded as one of the best teams of all time for a reason. They are one of the most successful tag teams of all time. They are one of the most over tag teams of all time. However, I can name plenty of tag teams who had better matches because the Outlaws weren't great in the ring. I can name less than five of their matches that I enjoyed. Because you like them so much, you fail to see my side when it comes to PURELY in ring work and call it ridiculous. I think that considering their in ring work to be great is ridiculous. Will Kidd and Cesaro ever be a Hall of Fame tag team or have the resume that the Outlaws have? Hell to the no. But are Kidd and Cesaro better in ring workers? You bet your sweet ass. The Shield, Usos, Brotherhood, Hardy Boyz, Edge & Christian, Dudley Boyz, Demolition, Hart Foundation, World's Greatest Tag Team, Los Guerreros, Jeri-Show, the Brain Busters, and the Steiner Brothers are all examples of teams that were better then the Outlaws from an in-ring standpoint only. But I'm sure this post will just be considered "ridiculous" even though I'm giving the Outlaws credit for what they do best.

I certainly have no personal hate towards the Outlaws or anything and was a fan of theirs back in 1998. My Jakks BCA Road Dogg figure with the white DX shirt won lots of titles.
However, in 2015 they shouldn't even really be wrestling, much less winning. Road Dogg hasn't hit the gym since...ever and having them go over The Ascension would be a horrible decision on several levels.
