I will start by saying I am in no way a fan of The Ascension. I don't hate them, I just don't really find them entertaining to watch. However, what they did on Raw was horrible. For weeks to say on commentary that Ascension is weak and couldn't hang with any of the older teams is one thing, a bad thing but still just one thing, but to actually have those old teams destroy a team that's supposed to be vicious? That's just dumb. I can understand if someone backstage doesn't like them or whatever, but they need to realize that they need new stars, They are so desperate to find the next Cena instead of building up several guys and make the whole roster stacked. In the Attitude Era, you cared about nearly everyone on the roster. WWE really needs to start building up new people for us to care about. The Ascension should never have been beaten down like that, if anything they should have beaten up the APA and laid them out. The Outlaws could have come out at the end to make the save and challenge them to a match at the Rumble. Have the Ascension win at the Rumble, easily. Then at Fast Lane have them defeat another previous tag team. And at Mania have Ascension vs. New Day vs. Usos vs. Kidd & Cesaro for the belts with the Ascension winning. Make them like they were in NXT, make them unstoppable. They got over in NXT for being like LOD and being dominated and never losing, so why mess with a formula that worked? Plus, it builds them up, makes us care about them, makes us exciting at the thought of what team could possibly beat them. Instead we get them getting beaten up by guys in their 50s.

No, I do remember when a few little whiny bitches complained online about it like they do about Undertaker, Brock, Rock, Cena and everything else under the sun. But the Outlaws maintained popularity with the non-whiny bitches. AND those whiny bitches knew nothing about the Attitude Era or the Outlaws. I remember some of those guys asking why they were pretending to be DX lol.
As for last year they were as over as hell during their run and when they won the titles the pop they received was enormous so he crybabies complaints were irrelevant imo.
Another thing they weren't called the New age outlaws because of their age so the Old age outlaws comments are really pathetic.
I'm glad you were completely objective and not at all biased in this post. And yes, the Old age outlaws, while not particularly funny, does make sense. They're old.

Goldust has stayed in ring shape and still performs at a pretty high level. There are very few guys that can continue to perform well into their 40s, nevertheless 50s. Flair, Funk and Liger are three that come to mind, but to say the outlaws are anywhere near any of those guys would be flat out wrong.

Billy and the Dogg barely lost a step, they barely even look physically older than they did 15 years ago. Billy's still in better shape than most of the other guys on the roster, his arms are ing huge.

Road Dogg though looks like he'd get winded while waiting in gorilla.

Billy managed to stay in shape, but is still nothing special in the ring. Road Dogg looks like he hasn't worked out in ever.
Let's not say anyone is overlooking Goldust. I'm a HUGE Goldust fan since he has only gotten better with age and his run in 2013 with Cody Rhodes is some of the best tag team work I've ever seen.

For a 51 year old man he is still in great shape, look at his match with CM Punk last year on Raw. He hasn't slowed up or got sloppy and I believe he has never let himself go and always stayed in shape like Goldust, Flair etc.

It looks pretty clear that last night was they're way of saying they have given up on these guys already....I don't see how they can recover from that embarresment....unless they cometletly demolish (no pun intended) the Outlaws. I mean pummel to where they need stretches and EMTs to carry them out.

Billy is an average at best worker in his prime, he's not exactly better now. Goldust, somehow, might be better now than he was in his prime. Time's a weird thing.

Finlay and Michaels are also pure examples of getting better with age. Finlay I thought was superb in his WWE run and Michaels after taking a 4 year break managed to get himself back into ring shape again and was as good if not better than before.

I completely forgot Finlay. Regal too. HBK is basically like a fine wine. Outlaws are like prison wine. Might look the same as fifteen years ago, but it sure didn't get better with age.

NO. Outlaws went over on Raw. Ascension should win at Rumble and then we never see the Outlaws again. Maybe BG, not Road Dogg.

Ascension should put over anybody they face between now and the end of their hopefully short WWE lived careers.
For the life of me I don't get why anyone thinks these two are special.
