Rey in 2006 was a big surprise to me. I know that the dirtsheets were reporting it the day of, but I didn't actually read them before the event, so it was a surprise because All the talk was of Orton winning. I seem to remember that Orton was being a dick backstage around that time and that it may have been a last minute change for Rey to win.
Sheamus in 2012 was a bit of a surprise, because Jericho was feuding with Punk, it looked like he would win. However, he didn't need to win to get a title match at Mania, so giving Sheamus the win made sense, so he could face Bryan.
Cena in 2008 was a shock to see him return so early, but was he came out, you knew he was winning, with Edge in 2010, I remember talking to my brother that we both thought he was going to return and win.

With the exception of the one cena returned at every rumble has been easy to predict. If you dont get the winner in the first guess you at least get it by second guess.

1999 surprised the hell outta me.....I thought for sure Austin was going to get his revenge this night. My God Vince knew how to tell a story back then.
King trying to calm an increasingly panicked Vince while Austin sawed through the reamianing competitors was brilliant. His elimination of Billy Gunn & HHH were mark out moments for me.....man I was thrilled.

Being at the 2008 Rumble I had NO idea Cena would come back, let alone win.
2010 Edge shocked the hell out of me too!
I was at 2011 also, and I didn't THINK Del Rio would win, but to some extent, expected it...

In the 2010 Rumble, for the last 5 entrances every time the clock struck 0 my friend and I were saying 'You think you know me..'. One of those moments where even though we knew Edge was coming.. it was still pretty mark out.
The Sheamus Rumble wasn't a surprise to me. I expect Sheamus to win every match he's in for some reason.. I expect him to win this Sunday even though he probably won't even be in the match.
The last one that surprised me was Alberto Del Rio. Even though most people suspected he would win, I always had that niggling doubt of 'are they seriously going to give this guy a Rumble win?'

I was happy to experience Royal Rumble 2008 live. It was cool to see Undertaker enter at #1 and HBK at #2. When Cena came out at #30 I was in complete shock, and so was the crowd. Only Rumble I ever went to, but damn I wish made it to this year's too.

Yeah Benoit in 2004 was a big shocker for me, although they made it obvious when it was down to him and Big Show. I thought Goldberg was a lock to win that Rumble and face Brock Lesnar for the Title.

2005 was kind of a shocker too with Batista winning his first Rumble especially after both he and Cena went over the top rope at the same time with both of their feet hitting the floor at the same time you would have thought that it would be like 1994 all over again with Bret and Luger but then Vince restarting the match is what made it even more shocking

2004. I thought Goldberg was going to walk out the winner.

Bret and Luger intertwined their legs which is how they were able to pull it off.

2007 I honestly had either Shawn Michaels, Edge or Randy Orton winning that Rumble but The Undertaker pulling it off and winning, that is what made it for me even more shocking

The one when Bret Hart and Lex Luger were co-winners was shocking to me as a kid. I want to say it was 1994 or 95 but I can't remember for sure.

1987..1st Rumble although NOT televised..One Man Gang 1988...didn't expect Duggan to win
After that I never thought they'd let TAKER win Goldberg NOT winner was sort of a let down also.

I feel like the Rumbles where we got a surprise winner (Cena, Del Rio, Sheamus, Vince), the surprises were all let downs.
So I guess Roman Reigns winning this year would be better than something bad like Big Show or the Miz winning.
Now Mizdow - that's another story.

It also bothers me that Big Show isn't considered the actual winner for 2000.

1997 where Austin was eliminated by Bret but the referees didn't see, and came back in and tossed Bret out and won!!

The Big Show deal is the same as the Austin/Bret deal from 1997. One that really bothered me was Shawn in 1996. Vader eliminates him but they suddenly make up a rule that because he was already eliminated it didn't count. When Hogan was eliminated in 89 that counted!

Starting from when I began watching WWE properly:
2004: Benoit. Huge shock. But I think I would of reacted like that with anyone who won, apart from Big Show, because this was my first Rumble. 2005: Batista. Shock. I expected either Cena or Angle to win it. 2006: Mysterio. Huge shock. I thought it would be Lashley for sure. 2007: Undertaker. Huge shock. Never expected it. 2008: Cena. Huge shock. Thought Triple H was a shoe in that year. 2009: Orton. Not shocked. Too obvious. 2010: Edge. Shock. Had a suspicion that he might return. I was disappointed that HBK didn't win. 2011: Del Rio. Not shocked. He was a shoe in. 2012: Sheamus. Not shocked. I was hoping Jericho would win, but I knew when it came down to these two, that it wasn't going to happen. 2013: Cena. Not shocked. We all knew it. 2014: Batista. Not shocked. We all knew it. I think I was the only one who was pleased when he won.
Wow, this year's my 12th Rumble?! Time really does fly.

I'd say I was shocked the most when Undertaker won is 2007 and Edge won in 2010. When Sheamus won a few years back was unexpected (to me) as well. I thought it came from out of nowhere.
