I hope Stardust goes back to Cody after Goldust is gone. I 110% agree and hope this happens

Goldust's resurgence has been great to see; the storyline in 2013 that saw the Rhodes family united was excellent.
I wish him the best as an agent and hope that finally Cody can break through as a top talent once again, Stardust or not...preferably not...I'm thinking MITB '13-type Cody.

I think Stardust vs. Goldust needs to happen. Have Stardust win, and have the Stardust gimmick die with Goldust. If that's the idea, then Goldust should go over. Let him go out on top and get rid of Stardust. It's a win-win.

Dust has been the best he's ever been the last couple if years. It's a shame if they don't do something big with him before he retires.
And I still like to think we brought him back with the Monday Night Goldust thread. You're welcome humanity.

Stardust has kinda run it's course...i mean they really didnt do ANYTHING memorable with him after the initial stuff like most people... but anyway, I'd like to see there be a match between the brothers...Goldust better get a ing Wrestlemania match this year if he's really done kinda sucks too because since his latest comeback he's been awesome to watch in the ring.

Goldust is great.
I think I remember them bringing Dustin in with a program with the Million Dollar Man.
I also remember Goldust's introduction. I remember being weirded out by his initial gimmick. He used to come onto the wrestlers, but I remember vividly Vince calling it that it was a mind game.
I remember his backlot brawl with Piper, and all the weird shtuff they had him do during the Attitude Era. Yeah, that was great when they paired him with Luna.
I'll be sorry to see him go.

Yeah I know it's best for a wrestler to go out on their back, but if they're simultaneously killing the Stardust character I think it would make me sense for him to lose. Also, I hate him.

Goldust has had an incredible run since he returned a few years back, but they really wasted both him and Cody over the past year dating back to when they lost the tag titles at the Rumble to the New Age Outlaws for no apparent reason. They were really over and that just killed their momentum. Turning Goldust heel was also really, really stupid because as a result of going heel he had to turn into the generic bad guy worker who only has five moves in his arsenal. When he was a face he was doing thing in the ring that he never even did back in the 90s when he was, theoretically, in his prime. Would've been cool to see Goldust get one last run with the IC Title or something. He could've been a WWF Champion back in the 90s, but was an unfortunate victim of the numbers game. Goldust will always be one of my all-time favorites, so I was really glad to see that he took this last run as seriously as he did. He got sober and dropped a ton of weight and finally exercised his demons.

I personally think Rodes should keep the Stardust gimmick. It's the first time he was every interesting

they are totally wasting Cody, and have been since he lost the face protector. That was the first time they missed the perfect opportunity to pull the trigger. He was still IC Champ and still hot. Then they put him in a black hole of a feud with Big Show, the ultimate heat-sucker.
Then he flounders in the terrible feud with Sin Cara, where it was blatantly obvious that they had no real ideas for him.
Then he tagged with Sandow in the awesome Team Rhodes Scholars. I thought for sure they would at least get the tag belts. Nope, they get feuded with the terrible duo of Brodus and Tensai - and lose!
Then he has that awesome MITB match where he basically stole the show. THERE was the other HUGE opportunity to pull the trigger with him. He was screwed by his tag partner, he was super hot - as a face no less - all they had to do was book the story that wrote itself: Cody vs Sandow with the briefcase on the line. Nope. Cody wins the stipulation-free match, Sandow goes on to lose the briefcase to a Cena that could only be described as 60% healthy on Raw (don't get me started on that other missed opportunity. I call that the cursed MITB match, because it was a total waste).
Then Cody gets fired. Goldust comes back, gets fired, they win their jobs and the titles from the Shield. That was ok, but he was losing ground as someone who could stand on his own fast. When they lost the belts they had yet another opportunity the start building Cody for the main event with yet another story that writes itself: Cody turns on Goldy, match at Wrestlemania, Cody wins, Goldy retires, Goldy goes to shake his hand at the end, Cody hugs him, then knees him in the nuts and lays him out. {Insert upper mid-carder/ lower main eventer here} gets pissed off at the show of disrespect, and we are off and running.
They didn't go that route, they went Goldust and....Stardutht. I will be the first to admit, it worked waaaaaay better than anyone could've ever dreamed, but it was definitely short term. It's run it's course. Now Goldust is retiring, and it seems they might keep Cody as Stardust. The story doesn't write itself quite so easily. They could still have the match, but they have to somehow logically have Cody return to his former persona in a way that builds heat against his brother. I'm not huge on the idea of him just turning one day and returning as Cody Rhodes, suddenly no longer a space cadet, and I honestly have no interest in Goldust vs Stardust, it doesn't feel like it has the same meaning. It can be done, but they have had so many easy stories to pull the trigger on I really don't see it happening here, or ever really. Cody is getting very close to beyond repair. Stardust isn't a world champion, and with the new NXT guys coming up he is almost destined to be stuck in the Christian spot; a show highlight who never really gets his due. At least Christian got the World title.
Keeping him as Stardust is the worst thing they can do to this kid.

Wouldn't surprise me if they keep Cody Rhodes as Stardust as I heard rumors that both Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn are huge fans of the character as they feel that Cody Rhodes is just like Husky Harris, Johnny Curtis, Skip Sheffield, and Epico and Primo--outdated. Another thing about Rhodes is for some reason Vince disliked his father Dusty Rhodes simply because Dusty ran NWA which happened to be WWF's archrival promotion at the time. Vince would mock Dusty by many ways possible such as repackaging One Man Gang as Akeem The African Dream (a take on Dusty's moniker "The American Dream"), naming Ted DiBiase's servant Virgil (Dusty's real first name), and having a guy named Reo Rogers who looked and acted like Dusty. Your thoughts?

I personally think Rodes should keep the Stardust gimmick. It's the first time he was every interesting I don't think it was the first time he was interesting -- he was okay as Dashing and lots of fun as Grotesque -- but Stardust is infinitely better than Generic Cody Rhodes. I'm all for Goldust retiring when he's still awesome rather than becoming an old guy who can't go, but I really hope it doesn't lead to another dull singles push for Generic Cody. A singles push for Stardust, I'm good with.

I'll miss Goldust. Easily one of the best characters in the history of the company and only behind Undertaker and Kane in terms of gimmick longevity. He only got better with age and it'll be sad to see him go. He should do great as an agent and hopefully we get Cody Rhodes back soon.

Maybe now we can get main event Cody Rhodes. Who am I kidding? We're not getting main event Cody Rhodes. We get Cody Rhodes on main event a lot, so close enough I guess "Vince, we've been thinking of putting Cody Rhodes in the main event scene to see how he does. He has a lot of fans that would love it" " THAT, HOW ABOUT WE PUT HIM OOONNN MAIN EVENT, BUT WE PUT JOHN CENA INNN THE MAIN EVENT? THEN THOSE ERS CANT COMPLAIN ABOUT NOT SEEING CODY IN THE MAIN EVENT, BECAUSE HE'LL BE ON THE DAMN SHOW. IT'S GENIUS" "but sir-" "TELL PRODUCTION WE NEED A NEW CENA SHIRT, NOW GET OUTTA MY OFFICE"

I'll be happy with him leaving if it means Cody goes back to being Cody Rhodes..
He needs to be rebuilt badly as a singles star.
With any luck they can give him a good reign or two with the IC and or US Title and then in 2016 maybe he can be ready for the WWE Title (doubtful with as much competition as there is for the one and only world title in the company..)...
