Shame. I like Gabriel and I think he had potential to be a solid mid-card type of guy. I mean come on... he couldn't get Kofi Kingston's mini-push (that Kofi ends up squandering, every single time) just once to see if he catches on? I understand why some would say "YEAH HE WAS WORTHLESS BECAUSE I NEVER SAW HIM ON TV LOL" but as is the case with just about everyone on the WWE roster, we have no idea what his potential was because he never got a chance. He was part of three lame-duck tag team title reigns (wherein I believe they lost more matches than they won) but he probably only had about five real competitive TV matches on RAW or Smackdown, combined in five-plus years with the company. What we do know, at this point almost sight unseen due to his complete absence of push and direction, is that he is a fantastic athlete who can get a reaction from the crowd when he goes to the air.
I'm not hugely disappointed by this, because I'm sure he is headed for bigger and better things from a personal perspective (i.e. becoming a much bigger fish in a much smaller pond, but more personal success) and was completely frustrated by WWE's lack of creativity or even effort in giving him anything to do. I'd be down for a return down the line if or when he improves his stock, but as I said, I'm sure he's feeling a great sense of relief from this. I just wish I would have had an opportunity, as a fan of good wrestling, to see what he had to offer as a performer.

He's a damn good wrestler. His NXT work proved that to a T. It's a shame WWE didn't allow him to shine on the main roster. He'll find a promotion that will actually utilize him.

He was never going to get a chance to show his true style in WWE, which is calling spots.
Gabriel is a spot monkey.. There's nothing wrong with that, but he'll have more success on the indy circuit probably.. Maybe.

He'll do great in a place like PWG that doesn't require any charisma to get over.

I like the sorry losers here who are dismissing him just like he's trash. Says a lot more about you than it does about him.
I liked him. You're either Nexus or against us.
I will await his triumphant, shocking return - in the Royal Rumble match!

I AM PISSED I do not blame him at all. I'm pissed that the WWE didn't use him like they should have and now there will never be a chance that they will.

Justin Gabriel is trending on Twitter. This is the greatest night of his life. And all it took was his job. A great man once said "You need to stop worrying about getting Twitter followers and start thinking about your career." (He said it on Total Divas to Rosa.)

I thought he would get bushwhackered (eliminated in less then 10 seconds) in the Rumble, not a big loss

Never knew there was so much hate on Gabriel. You can not like him thats totally fine, but to call him talentless or a spot monkey is a little far fetched. The guy never got to really show what he was capable of because they never cared to use him. And he has an ariel moveset, like Mysterio and Bourne but I suppose they are spot monkeys as well. Thought he had potential to be a standout midcard talent.
Hopefully he finds success elsewhere, very interested to see what he can do without WWE barriers.

He had talent, could have been a good pretty boy character with Layla as a valet or something. You know, just a mid card character, what a novelty.

Damn, I liked Gabriel. Always thought he was decent in the ring. But after he stopped being part of a stable, he really faded away quickly. Sucks that talent like that went to waste. Honestly, his last most memorable stint was that brief alliance with Tyson (wish it went on longer) and him dating Jojo on Total Divas.

Odd but not a big deal. Wish he was used better and developed more character. Not overly surprising.

His career with WWE was going no where. Better sooner than later I guess.

He had the perfect look for a pretty boy character, I thought he could have made a great Model Martel update, but he was nowhere near charismatic enough to pull it off. Look at Tyler Breeze and try to imagine Justin Gabriel doing that.
