The Highlight of the Rumble was probably Wyatt's performance which has to hopefully lead to something because they wouldn't make him look that strong for no reason vs. Undertaker. Hopefully not. Why? Who else is best suited to wrestle the Undertaker at WM?

I think the highlight was Rollins doing his thing in that Triple Threat. I know people loved that match and there are some great spots, but I honestly didn't think it was all that special outside of 3 or 4 specific moments. It was just mostly a finisher and German suplex spotfest. It already didn't hold up all that well comparably in my second viewing. Don't get me wrong, it was good just not that good.

I know what you're getting at and taking away the horrendous booking...yes it was good to see those guys at least featured in the Rumble in some way. No matter what's going on, the talent pool in this company is SO DEEP right now. At least most of them got to be in one of the biggest events of every given year.
However the Rumble this year was used to make Bray look strong before he loses to Undertaker at Wrestlemania, and then the big purpose was to make Roman Reigns look strong.

That's one way to look at it. Another way would be this: The Rumble lacked star-power this year, there was only one guy (maybe 2 if you count Bryan) who had a legit shot at winning the Rumble. The rest was young upcoming talent like the people you mentioned or jobbers. They should have had Orton returning and Rock entering at Number 30 with Ziggler moving to 26 or 27 (or whatever) instead of Titus. You're right. The Rumble did lack Star Power. I'd have liked to seen RVD, Rock, Sting (hHh interferes and causing his elimination to get the ball rolling for their feud) and few more surprises like AJ Styles, Buff Bagwell (yeah right, lol), Billy Gunn & Road Dogg. Would've been great. Either way though, Roman still would've gotten all that BS heat at end.

I don't see what the big deal is honestly. There's no deal to be made. Without the streak, it would be useless to have him face anyone. Sting, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Adam Rose, The Miz, Michael Cole, whoever. The Streak was an attraction. The Undertaker is a one show a year performer that has lost a lot of stock regarding his loss to Lesnar. Even if Undertaker and Lesnar had a rematch, it wouldn't be the same if the result comes to be 22-1, or 21-2. Undertaker doesn't need one last run. He's stated himself that he doesn't want a big blowout when he retires. With the Streak ended, it's perfect for him to pack his bags and quietly disappear. Also, Undertaker doesn't need to pass the torch to anyone. There was no torch to begin with in my opinion, lol. WWE never acknowledged the streak existed until at least at WM17. The first time Undertaker acknowledged it was WM18 after he beat Flair and counted to 10 with his fingers. Wyatt doesn't need a 'torch.' He'll never be The Undertaker, and rightfully so. Bray Wyatt doesn't need to feud with The Undertaker, vice versa.

They're just building him up to feed him to Undertaker at WM31 which will be such a waste

vs. Undertaker. Hopefully not. Why? Who else is best suited to wrestle the Undertaker at WM? He's suited to go against him but what good does it do Wyatt's career to go to WM and lose to undertaker? He needs a huge signature win followed by a push.

I hate how Wyatt busted his ass just to be eliminated with no fan fair.
Wyatt was the highlight of that match.

For me it was Bubba Ray coming back. Big fan of that guy. He's only gotten better with age/time.
Other than that, Ziggler at 30 made me pop cause I thought something cool might happen, sadly I was wrong.
Loved seeing DDP and the heat between the dust brothers
