I think I went from one of the Rocks biggest fans from back in the day to not finding him entertaining at all lately.
I remember he would grace the arena with his classy shirts, sideburns and arrogance never needing to suck up to the fans to get them to like him. These days I just see a fitness freak who is as dull as dish water. He got over because of the character he was during the attitue era but he hasnt been that character for years now and when he comes back hes no longer that cocky arrogant cool dude we all fell in love with. His jokes and such are not really funny, and he doesnt come out with the great one liners and such that made him funny. Dancing about back and fourth on the stage annoys me as well and he has a habit of repeating himself in the ring cutting a promo. Im not a fan anymore.
Oh and for someone who is supposed to be so fit, he sweats like a bitch in heat. Same with Lesnar, they look like physical specimens but couldnt lace Flairs boots when it comes to fitness, that dude was running about the ring at a good pace into his 50s and Brock and The Rock are far younger.
Had to get that off my chest, sometimes i just need a good rant! But it was deserved imo.

While I agree that The Rock isn't who he once was, sweating doesn't mean he and Lesnar aren't physically fit. Genetically, some people just sweat more than others.

I love the Dwayne The Rock Johnson of the last few years miles more than I was ever a fan of the WWF version of The Rock. The guy seems like an incredibly awesome person, and is entertaining as hell. I enjoy most his films. I love that he has all the side projects and gives back. He comes across as a person you'd want to be friends with. The Rock was an entertaining character who told jokes and that was cool for what it was at the time. But I'll take him now over that any day.

Oh dont get me wrong, you are entitled to sweat in a match wrestling...but running down the ring to bust a move or two? For goodness sakes he lost a litre of water.

Being in shape and being in ring shape aren't the same thing. I know that bodybuilders don't usually work on their cardio much and I'm sure that's one thing he wouldn't need for film roles. Nit saying he isn't in good cardiovascular shape, but it could explain the sweating. EDIT: Man, I am having some weird issues with autocorrect. WTF does "nit" mean? I get "ru" and "du" a lot instead of "to" and "so." Are those even words?

You need to do some more research on the human body and sweating.. Because with all due respect, you don't know what you're talking about.

What do you expect him to do, exactly? He's not going to act like he did in 1999 because the times have changed and so has he. None of the old guys come back acting the same way they did 15 years ago, but the fans still get a kick out of their catchphrases so they play to them. You can include Jericho, Taker, Hogan, Austin, etc. all in that same group. The Rock isn't going to come back acting like he did when he was in The Corporation because, for one, he's not trying to play a heel; and secondly, fans now know enough about the guy away from the ring to know what he's really like. Even back in 2001-2002 when he was still wrestling regularly his character had changed significantly from the way he was back in 1999.
And people sweat more than others. It has nothing to do with being out of shape or not being fit. The guy works out for hours on end on a daily basis, so I don't know what to tell you. He used to sweat a lot even when he wrestled regularly, too.

Im not expecting him to be the exact same, people takes things way out of context on here im talking in a broad sense. Its like hes went from one extreme to another. Theres very little of that Rock back then compared to the Rock we see now. The majority of names you mentioned have kept the core of their character when they come back but the Rock like other people said is just "Dwayne" when he comes back now. He's only the Rock in name.

Yeah you're pretty clueless on the sweating issue. I don't think you considered the fact that Brock and Lesnar are much larger than flair and most other wrestlers for that matter. The amount or rate that someone sweats doesn't mean anything when it comes to being fit.
I'll agree that Rock isn't the same guy as he once was though. However, he doesn't have to be that guy anymore. He's a much bigger star the way he is now.

I guess I'm just not really sure what you expect him to say/do when he appears. So, if he grew long sideburns and wore silk dress shirts again that would somehow make him more entertaining? Jericho doesn't have long hair or wear tight leather pants like he did in 1999, either, when he appears.

Just like Austin still is that bad ass when he shows up. It comes down to entertainment and as a fan I dont find him entertaining anymore.
