If people keep mentioning these JAKKS figs I WILL lock this topic!!! FTC AIN'T JAKKS! Also: Blue Meanie HIMSELF asked for this sculpt! FTC let's the talents decide. Don't like it, then don't buy it when he gets released!!! Are you throwing a temper tantrum dude? Chill out. First of all, I only used the Jakks Cornette as a reference of what I remember most people liked. It is true many were disappointed when it did not come out. I never asked them to make a carbon copy. I think if they make a skinny cornette with a pink suit (midnight express era) it won't sell that great, that's all. Remember, they are making an ROH line as well....so wouldn't it make sense to make a Cornette that could pass as both his days from the midnight express or his days as head of ROH, to be compatible with that line? Furthermore, I don't think I ever said ANYTHING about the blue meanie. I actually like the sculpt. The blue beard is a part of his character....I think it was an excellent choice. Finally, if you want to lock the thread.....go ahead. I could give a flying you-know-what. Understand, that only hurts YOUR site. I don't see why you'd lock a thread for mentioning a Jakks figure considering your site sells Jakks, Mattels, and soon the FTC figures. Kinda dumb if you ask me. They would probably remove you as a mod for hurting their business. Have a nice day.

"Don't like it, then don't buy it when it gets released"!!! Understand, that's why business's lose money....when they do not listen to the consumer. FTCCHRIS thus far has been great about listening and exchanging ideas. As consumers, we are simply stating what we do, and do not like. Oversized heads are not good, although heads that are too small are not good either. Jakks ECW Matt Striker is an example of a figure that is perfectly scaled/ proportioned throughout. The "kicker" boots is also a point that I did not know about until the other day....that could make many decide against buying a figure. One has to have an eye for these things. If a figure is made badly, consumers will do exactly that....not buy the figure when it's released. So far, I like the announcements that have been made and what we have seen from FTC. I hope the line lasts for a long time.

I'm hoping the cornette screams 80s NWA. I don't collect anything contemporary, that's my deal.

Unfortunately, many aren't just stating what they do and don't like, they're treating a bead like a national atrocity and that FTC is awful for doing something that isn't exactly what they want. Meanie asked for this. That's the end of the conversation. It's not going to be different and there's no use in being mad about it. If that's a problem, don't get the Meanie figure. That's a pretty simple proposition. I'm not sure I'll get him or not, but the beard isn't the issue for me. My issue is money and other figures I want more. FTC is doing a very good job right now and I can't wait to see the other head sculpts that have been done.

people like me keep bring up the Meanie issue because we hope it does not happen again - this figure is a lost cause. I see FTC obaying Cornettes input because it's a classic look the fan base would want, not a mashup figure that resembles his current look so he can hopefully sell more of them to the 50+ people that attend his Indy events.
Other stars have had way to much input on their figures (Hogan = can't be bald, Warrior = must be made in specific attires, Foley = Santa) but they have all been stars that could easily be happy to tell Mattel or Jakks off if they didn't get thier way. I'm fairly certain if you told Meanie NO we will not be doing it that way so we won't be making this figure he would quickly be like ok make it however you want because 1: he likes the idea of his own figure 2: hes getting paid for it.
I have a job, do a lot of stuff I don't want to do - and it's ok because I'm being compensated generously for it. Same logic applies here IMO.
Also I've sent FTChris a PM asking for his interest in a particular former WWF & ECW talent that's never been made that I'm friends with (he's not responded yet) and I know this guy has a perticular attire / era in mind for a figure but when it comes down to it he'll be happy to just get the money & let them do whatever.

Every decision made pertaining to the designing of the blue meanie figure is pointing to me passing on it, starting situ the decision to even produce one.

Jeez you're like a grumpy old man. How hard is it for you to say ONCE instead of telling us time and time again. At this point I hope they let Chris start a new thread with information instead of this one with so much bitching.

Agreed with all of the above. Warriors input didn't cause any harm though, we got some iconic stuff.

I'm really starting to get pissed because FTC is tryin there hardest to make the best figures possible and so far for the last 5 pages of seen most people just crap on EVERYTHING. "The meanie head sucks cuz it's modern" The heads are like bobble heads" " the kickoff mold sucks" I can't stress enough that they are NOT JAKKS!! they don't have all the molds JAKKS had and might not have all the money jakks ha so it might be harder to make figures accurate. But please just stop complaining!!!! Your getting a ROH line, a INDY line, and a LEGENDS line all with great confirmed names that most only have been made as customs and people still aren't happy. So please give FTC a break

Why would they want to generate ill will with talent that they're trying to work with by basically telling them to eff off, we're doing this how we want to?
Did people complain about Jakks' bWo Stevie Richards using the same 2005 headscan as his other figures instead of sculpting a new much younger looking 1995 head? Maybe a few did, but I sure don't remember it.

Truthfully, though I'll be staying far away from it, I hope the blue meanie figure with tall kick pads sells well so that they can put that revenue back into the line and start producing the best figures they possibly can.

And no ill will by saying here's money to accept with conditions attached, take it or leave it. I like others just want this line to succeed - that's why we're so picky because if so many of us hardcore collectors pass on them because they don't look right - who's going to buy them? Goodbye series 2 if these things don't sell.

Complaining about the Meanie head is not the same as complaining about the oversized head.
The oversized head is an ERROR! One that can be corrected. It's a production flaw. It needs to be addressed. FTC's last batch of heads for these style figures (available in their custom figure area) are ridiculously oversized. It would be a shame if these lines turned out that way.
Not liking the time period reflected in the Meanie sculpt is a non-issue. This is a CHOICE. It's not even the same as saying it's a bad sculpt. It's merely OPINION that a different time frame/style should have been chosen.
We shouldn't lump legit issues in with people's complaints that FTC isn't making their favorite era of a star. It's an apples and oranges conversation.
Frankly, the Meanie head looks stellar. But it's Blue Meanie, so you know, not really a big deal one way or the other.
I'm much more concerned with the quality of the products and what FTC will do to address legit issues such as body styles, accuracy and head sizes, as opposed to what outfit or design a comedy jobber should have.

Who said Meanie would have those did you not see the part about NEW molds in production Its crap like that that makes me wonder why Chris even bothers to post here when crap like that showing that you don't listen or are just starting a rumor gets posted. I'm happy we get some REAL info from them but its like ever since he got here a lot of stupidity started getting posted. I guess the only way to know if he'll also have tall kick pads without just waiting to see the figure, is to ask Chris. I'm only assing it based on everything he's said up to this point. I know he said that other parts are being produced but obviously no other boots have been completed or they'd have been put on Elgin. So I guess it just depends on when those parts will be ready versus when the meanie fig is going into production. I'd be willing to bet that he's gonna be in the kick pads because I don't believe the people at ftc considered it important to be accurate with parts or realized how important it is to collectors. They knew that they didn't have an appropriate boot mold for an Elgin figure and that didn't stop them from moving forward so why would meanie be any different.

I agree with most of your points, but I think that though the era that a figure depicts is a matter of preference, it's still a factor that Ftc should strongly take into consideration. The failure of mattels legends line is largely attributed to the obscure and undesirable gimmick/outfit/era choices they made. Slaughter in blue tights rather than camo, snuka in tights and boots, etc. FTC is using the excuse that the wrestlers themselves are making these decisions. It's as if they want us to blame the wrestler but I don't expect a nearly 50 year old semi retired jobber to have his finger on the pulse of action figure collecting and know what exactly the consumer wants. If a company wants to hand over that responsibility, I hold them accountable for being that careless. I mean, if Mattel had used the excuse, "but snuka wanted us to produce the figure that way" would that have made it any more acceptable? If there's a universally preferred look/era/attire amongst consumers, wouldn't it be smart to cater to people who'll actually be buying the product?

I don't know if it's even happened with Mattel, but when Jakks made the "AWA" Harley Race, he asked them not to give him the mustache, so they didn't. Compromises are part of these deals.

It's cool that Meanie is finally getting a figure.
Also, Elgin is a dead ringer for Bobby Roode.
