And apparently that's the non-HD price. The HD price will be $10 more (supposedly) I read this too. For that sticker price, it also better come with an above average stripper & a steak dinner. And potato. Must include potato.

So, after ducking Pacquiao for all these years, Mayweather finally agrees to fight him when it looks like Pac isn't the same fighter?
Why did this take so long? I believe Floyd was so afraid of losing that he wouldn't fight Pac until it looked like he could easily win.
This should have happened years ago, could still be a good fight though.

Not surprised that the PPV price is $90 since Vegas is going to make a killing for this fight

Hahaha oh man. This entire saga has been hilarious from day 1. $90 to watch a fight 7 years overdue is the icing on the cake.

They got a full dinner, possibly see some good looking women (depending on your Hooter staff) & watch the fight for a fraction of the price. Those are the smart people.

If this were 5-6 years ago I'd be way more excited. Today, I just don't see the appeal anymore. Sure they finally fight but both are arguably out of there primes and this seems like them trying to stay in the spotlight.

5 years to late IMO and I have no idea why they took so long as they couldve created history and at least 3 rematches by now

Well personally, I'm really excited for this... sure, it's 5 years too late - but the good thing is, BOTH guys are past their prime/not what they were, so it kind of evens itself out. It's good for boxing that this fight is (finally) happening.
The $99.99 price-tag is crazy though... I feel for you guys(!). Here in the UK, we have 4 stations battling it out for the TV rights (Sky, BT Sport, Boxnation, and ITV) - I think it'll probably end up on Sky Box Office (PPV) though for about £24.99.

Can't wait to see that fight. After 5 long years, it is finally happening. The 5-year negotiation is more like a 5-year negotiation for me. They did a pretty good job in promoting the fight for 5 long years. As a result, they created the richest boxing match in history. The pressure is on both fighters now to make a really exciting match that is worth the long wait and not to mention their take home pay. Floyd is expected to earn way more than the combined take home pay Ali and Frazier received in their fight in Manila in today's USD. Having said that, I just hope Floyd will engage Manny. I hope he will step out of his comfort zone and make an exciting fight. If he pushes through with his usual game plan, then he will surely have a decision win. If he engage, he might score a knock out. As per Manny, the only way for him to win is to knock Mayweather out. So I guess he has no choice but to be super aggressive while bearing in mind the lesson he learned from Marquez. Here's to more boxing news for future reference.

Gonna be a good match up. I'm not too much into saying it'll suck just because it's coming a little late. I would say Pac's losses had a slight impact (making him look vulnerable or no longer invincible anyway) in peoples minds as to the fight not being what it could have been a few years back. That being said I'm still calling Pacquiao to pull it off. Has less to lose. Probably the last big fight for a while. That is unless Pac man wins and Mayweather has the jewles to have a rematch. Then settle it all in a third fight. Otherwise It's boxing's last hurrah for a while.

In case anyone's interested(!), Sky did indeed win the rights to show it here... it will be on Sky Box Office (PPV) for £19.99, which is pretty good. I have Manny winning a close (possible majority) decision... I think he'll be able to put the pressure on Floyd, who's not as fast and elusive as he was (and doesn't have the one-punch KO power of someone like Marquez). After all this time and hype, I just hope it's a good fight - and not a tentative "chess match".

Worth mentioning again that Floyd Mayweather is a disgusting piece of garbage, who is a serial violent abuser of women. From Deadspin: Anybody who contributes a single penny to a Floyd Mayweather either tacitly supports the abuse of women or is at least willing to knowingly turn a blind eye towards it. I feel very comfortable making specific, decisive character judgments about every single person who gives any support to fights promoted by or involving Mayweather.

Well, you are welcome to make those judgments, but it seems rather an insular and reactionary stance to take (no offence, fellow Bat-fan!) - just because people want to see the fight, doesn't automatically mean they support what Mayweather has done in his personal life. This is a professional sporting contest... not who is the better man or who has the better criminal-record. I mean, if you want to boycott a sport or event because you disagree with something a competitor has said or done in their private life, then you may as well stop watching sports altogether.

Only time I've ever given him my money was WM23. How is he not in jail?

The current issue of Boxing Monthly has predictions from 35 fighters/insiders/experts etc. - 26 predict Mayweather and 9 Pacquiao. Interestingly though the magazine's official preview section goes for Manny on a close decision (...as do I ).
