Hi guys. Thanks for checking out my thread. After months of people asking I have finally finished setting up my entire collection. Keep in mind this collection has spanned 3 decades and I have a ton of stuff. The hardest part was finding the time to set up everything, take pictures and post for everyone to see. A bit of a backstory on my collection...
I've collected for as long as I can remember. As a kid I grew up on the ljn and hasbro toy lines. I've been a life long wrestling fan. At that point in my life I was a kid who loved to play with his figures. As I got older and hasbro stopped making wwf figures. I took a break until one Christmas Day. If my memory serves me correct it was 1996. When I got these new jakks bone crunching figures. I was immediately hooked. The biggest difference was that these figures moved a lot better than the hasbro and ljns did. Thus making them more fun to play with. I collected jakks religiously up until they came out with the classic superstars line. I always remembered as a kid not understanding why anyone would keep a figure in the package. What was the fun in that? I remember family members even talking me to keep he figures sealed as the value would increase over the years. Needless to say I didn't care. However when I saw the packaging of those classics I realized two things. 1) I was getting older and not really playing with the toys as much. But I still enjoyed buying them. 2) when displayed, these things can look bad ass! So at that point I started collecting everything moc. The classic superstars line to this day is my favorite toy line I ever collected. The variety and selection will likely never be matched. As I got older, started working, and financially became more stable, my hobby turned into an obsession! When jakks lost the wwe license I was really skeptical about if Mattel could deliver the way jakks did. I didn't know if I would continue to collect until I saw the legends line and the defining moments macho man figure. They had me hooked! Since then I've been an avid Mattel collector. Living in Canada, we have our issues with distribution so sometimes I have to get figures I need online. I've posted tons of pics below showcasing my entire setup and collection. Keep in mind that I also collect different types of memorabilia, but about 80 percent of my collection is wrestling. Also with the exception of 1 or 2 items I have obtained every autograph in person. I've been very fortunate to meet hulk hogan, ultimate warrior, Bret hart, Bruno sammartino, Shawn michaels, John cena, Steve Austin and many more. I've also built up a pretty cool selection of celebrity autographs that I've obtained in person from Jim Carey, to Arnold Schwarzenegger and many more. It would be impossible to picture every item in my collection due to its size. Currently I have amassed over 1200 figures, 2000 trading cards, 500 magazines, movie posters, comics, sports memorabilia and the list goes on. In recent years, if I really like a figure , I will buy two. One to keep moc and the other to open up. I've attended dozens of major conventions and 3 wrestlemanias, which had helped me obtain many of the more rare items in my collection. Pics are below. Thanks for taking the time to view this LOOOONG post. Hopefully you guys enjoy. Please feel free to leave and questions, comments or feedback you may have.
