I personally don't care to see him in WWE.

If this is true--and I emphasize "if"--it will be WWE's biggest signing in years. Joe might be a little past his prime, but at least he can be a fresh face who can inject some life to the main roster's main event scene. He's so far from their biggest signing. He has as much name value to the casual fan as Owens and Zayn at their time of signing. So, who would be then? The casual fan of the 90s would only know big names from the main promotions. I was a WCW diehard while my friends were WWF fans. When Syxx left to become X-Pac, the casual fans of the WWF thought it was a big time signing. Same happened when J-E-DOUBLE F J-A-DOUBLE R-E-DOUBLE T came into WCW. Casual fans will only recognize already established stars. So I guess if that's anyone right now, it would be people who made a name in WCW or WWE or ECW and are returning? Is that what you mean? I can assure you that the casual fan will never see a big signing until a real number 2 promotion develops. Unless you want to get another Kurt Angle run in WWE, that's the last big name on the market created by a big company that can still add value to the product. I'm probably close to being a casual fan as I don't watch WWE when its live but just read recaps and watch highlights of matches I want to see. Yet, I know of Joe, Generico, Steen, the Wolves, and other indy wrestlers, and I thought it was a big deal with Owens and Zayn signed up.

Had this been verified yet? I haven't seen this anywhere else and I'm very skeptical. On a huge fan of Joe, but I don't see him getting a contract offer before AJ Styles. I do. They have alot of guys like AJ on the roster. The closest thing they have to Joe is someone like Owens and they're not very alike at all. That's a fair point. Touche sir.

I've heard rumors that's why there was no interest. Who knows but it does make sense when you think about it. Neville Balor Kidd Kalisto Kingston Woods Etc. All those guys have Styles similar to AJ in one way or another and some like Balor are even better then AJ in my honest opinion. There isn't much to make him stand out unless he straight up debuted on the main roster and jumped right in with big names like Jericho, The Radicalz, Show, etc did when they came in. But thats not how things work these days. A guy like Joe has more versatility in the character department and his in ring work for a guy his size would instantly help him stand out. I think his in ring work fits the WWE better as well because like i said alot of guys have a similar style to AJ, Joe on the other hand style wise is different then almost everyone the WWE has other then Bryan. In the long run Joe would do much better then AJ in the WWE and that is why i want to see him sign.

Not to mention, if Styles came in dueling mics with anyone, he'd lose his push immediately. Dude is garbage cutting promos.

Lots of imitators, only one OG. Nobody does AJ Styles better than AJ Styles, and he's been doing it for more than a decade. He's arguably the best he's ever been as a total package right now too, now that the reins are off. Joe is a project for WWE because of the decline in his motivation since 2008. AJ could walk through the curtain right now the biggest name in wrestling that hasn't ever been in WWE and be ready to put on 5 star matches. I can say with absolute certainty that 2015 AJ Styles is good enough to wrestle anywhere in the world. 2015 Samoa Joe needs to prove that he can imo.

He has Mic skills worse than Reigns.

I have loved everything he has done since leaving TNA other then that crapty match with Curt Hawkins. The work he is doing in New Japan is his best work ever in my opinion and he had two (maybe more) clear cut match of the year candidates last year. I'd love for AJ to be in the WWE, he is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. That being said Joe is still a better fit in my opinon, that's all i was saying. Wasn't putting Styles down one bit.

They're both better than Reigns. That's neither here nor there because I'm happy to take AJ Styles as a mid carder in WWE just to see him in WWE. I never said anything about AJ being in the main event. We were comparing AJ being able to contribute versus Samoa Joe and to me that's no contest at this moment.

Joe needs to drop a lot of weight, AJ would need an actual character, and there isn't enough time for both to really take off. Main event NXT at best for them.

I love Joe, but at this point in his career he's a poor man's Owens, and AJ I just never got the hype for so I'm admittedly biased there.

Senior CitiSting is another short-term band-aid on the company's diminished popularity. He's not someone who can join the main roster and sell tickets, so he's not a big signing. If this were 1995, it would be a different story.

Awesome news!!!
Can't wait to see Joe in WWE/ NXT.
I'd go with Joe Samoa if they refuse to use Samoa Joe. They may just leave his name the way it is though, like they did with CM Punk or whatever. I really don't know, just thinking out loud/ speculating.
