Let us rejoice in the film that is Whiplash
How about that ending eh??
So so intense and beautifully crafted. The editing in this is absurdly well done. If I were a professor I would show this film in class in how to edit.

I saw it at the theater in November and now own it on Blu-ray. Whiplash is why I love movies. It is one of the greatest modern day films.

Not even Best Buy had it. Did your copy have a slipcover? It's sold out almost everywhere in my area except at an FYE, where its marked up 6 dollars. Sold out everywhere online too. Won't get my copy from Amazon for another week Anyway, rented this off PSN last night, and I'm already watching it a second time. I love how moody this film is for a drama - despite it being labelled that everywhere, it's most definitely closer to a thriller. The end of the second act is almost awe-inspiring and completely sells Neyman as one of the easiest protagonists to get behind in recent memory (despite becoming an obsessive dick). Simmons is one of the best villains put to celluloid. His performance and relationship with Teller sorta reminds me of Denzel and Hawke in Training Day, but with drums.

My local Costco has two dozen copies, all with slipcovers.

Brilliant. Completely brilliant. Was Miles nominated? If not that's a bloody crime.

Finally got to see it on Friday after missing it in theaters around Christmas time. Thought it was absolutely fantastic. The audio is stunning, too. I had my system cranked up pretty loud and it fills the speakers beautifully.

Saw is Saturday with the wife. I was blown away by the level of tension built simply between two characters and a drive for greatness. It's a film about art. About wanting to be great at something so badly it could end every other aspect of your life, or it could fuel you to be even greater.
The editing, the cinematography and the performances by the two leads were all magnificent. DAT SIX MINUTE SOLO DOE.

Brilliant. Completely brilliant. Was Miles nominated? If not that's a bloody crime. He wasn't. It was a stacked year for best actor, Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) and David Oyelowo (Selma) didn't even get nominations. JK Simmons deserved Best Supporting Actor though. That's a career defining performance. Before I forget, DAT ENDING THOUGH!

Just saw this tonight. Thought it was damn incredible. We kept saying it felt like we were watching a thriller because the intensity was so high throughout the film.
The entire last 15 mins were just insane. I kind of assumed the twist but wasn't really prepared for how he got railroaded and then had his moments.
They told the story, and kept repeating what was happening and what the point was of the film and then they spent the final act making that metaphor real. Just awesome.

Badass movie. By the end of the movie I had my guitar in hand and played for like two hours straight.

I saw it yesterday on DVD and while it was great I was sorta expecting more especially with the ending.

Amazing movie. Probably the best final 15 minutes to a film I can remember in years. First time I saw it, I left the theater pretty much feeling high it was that intense

Still cannot find this blu ray anywhere that includes the slipcase.
I'm losing my mind.
