Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns haven't done much either. It's quite obvious that we're talking about the new NXT, after it got out of WWE's basement. But again, the question is not "Does the NXT talent have a chance on the main roster?" The question is if "NXT is really good?" Whether the main roster screws up the talents or not is irrelevant.

Listen, I'm not saying the divas of NXT aren't talented. They'er (most of them) are extremely talented. But I don't see them going to or succeeding on the main roster and that's the whole point of NXT is to groom them to be on the main roster. Everyone seems to forget that just because they have great matches and is on weekly on the Network.

It's very good, but there are factors that really help it look much better. I think the length and the target audience are two massive factors here. It's actually targeted at me, where as Raw is more for the global PG audience although I still enjoy it. The length too because it's easy to sit through an hour of it, but if it was 3 hours like Raw I definitely wouldn't enjoy it as much, although I would still enjoy it.
I do find it insane that people think NXT (which is supposed to be a side product) are putting out better content than the main shows. It shouldn't be like that at all. The main show should be the top thing around, must see stuff, but it just seems so repeated and lackluster at the minute, it's like you can predict the card + opening segment before the show's even begun.

NXT is incredible and deserves high praise i'd say it is in the top three promotions in the world right now 1.NJPW 2.Lucha Underground 3.NXT I do agree that the tag division is piss poor, which is why NXT is number 3 for me at least. Its ridiculous The American Wolves weren't taken because they have "too many guys that size" when the tag division is bare bones. Owens, Zayn, Balor, Neville and Itami should be pushed over every homegrown talent, except maybe Breeze and Corbin. No one else is nearly as entertaining as those 5, and I'm a fan of Bull, Corbin and Breeze NXT isn't a promotion, it's a show of WWE, which is the promotion. You know what I meant, its like saying AAA is the promotion and lucha underground is the show.

I'm gonna say this, WWE dont know how to build a star anymore. NXT doesnt build stars, you get guys like Zayne, Owens, Balor, Itami, Neville, who come in with their own fan base, before going on to the main roster. I think NXT is a testing ground to see if their fan base's will convert well into WWE's main programming. I don't think that's true at all. The casual fan will have no idea who Balor, Zayn or Owens is before they enter NXT. Yes, the hardcore fans will, but that's such a minority. They built Rollins, Ambrose and Reigns from the ground up with The Shield. Daniel Bryan got himself over, but instead of completely ignoring the fans, they built him up to his first World Championship (before the Yes Movement really took off). Rusev is getting good reactions too. Balor literally just needs one of his big show entrances and the fans will devour it and he'll be a huge star. Point being, while each guy does bring their own fanbase, it's not nearly as big as you would think and NXT is not the place to test that. NXT is a group of hardcore wrestling fans. They know each new guy that's coming in. The casual WWE fan has no idea. We have people on this forum even who had no idea who Ambrose or Rollins were before NXT, or at least hadn't seen them to that point and became huge fans. WWE is still capable of making stars. I get you but I feel that a pre-composed fan base, especially in NXT where a lot of the fans are marks, can help get a guy over, the casual fan will hear people cheering Balor or whoever, and want to be a part of that, eventhough they dont fully understand why.

I agree it's certainly possible. One thing I like about the Network is that it can draw in casual fans and get more eyes on a product like NXT, which allows more exposure to the lesser known guys. So while they start their building process in NXT, they're still not carrying a huge fanbase with them to RAW or Smackdown, at least not yet. If WWE would recap NXT events on the other main shows, just a quick 2 minute recap music video type, it would attract a bigger audience to it and allow a much easier transition to the main roster. At that point, it's Triple H building the characters and hoping McMahon doesn't ruin them in that transition. I do think they can build characters from the ground up, as seen with Sami Zayn, it's just whether or not Vince will screw em up at this point. I'm sure Adam Rose was his idea.

this thread actually inspired me to go back an binge watch some old episodes of NXT on the network. And i have to say so much has changed in the one year they have been on the network.

I just hope it genuinely is a Platform for all guys to get to the Main Roster, and doesn't become a Brand where Triple H wants all of these good Indy Guys to just stay on forever as his own Promotion. Balor should debut the night of Wrestlemania, with the big Staging, while his gimmick is fresh to newcomers. Kevin Owens should debut the night after Wrestlemania, just as Brock Lesnar leaves. I just don't want to see all these guys kept on NXT forever just to keep the Brand popular with the more hardcore fans.
