He's not winning at WM. If buy some crazy, insane circumstance he were to, I'd assume he'd go at Reigns for the title, & lose.

The only scenario I can imagine is if WWE is planning to build a program like Mabel winning the KOTR to give then-champ Diesel a strong-looking opponent. As others have pointed out, it's possible (but not likely) that WWE might want Rusev-Reigns or Rusev-Bryan later on.

They were running Rusev/Reigns on the house shows in December when Reigns returned, so if they wanna go that route, they have an idea what it would look like. I saw one of their matches live & it wasn't bad.

This is not even worth considering. He will get destroyed by Cena, just like Bray last year, because cena absolutely 'needs' that WM victory. Fastlane is the peak of Rusev's career, it's a long slippery slope from here.

If he somehow beat Cena, I'd say have him go another year undefeated beating the likes of Orton, Ryback, Bryan, etc... Before finally falling to someone from NXT such as Balor, Itami, Owens, or even Zayn.

This scenario is interesting to think about but at the same time pretty pointless since Rusev has no chance to beat Cena at Mania.

I genuinely want to see Cena beat Rusev at Wrestlemania. Every story needs it's big payoff, and what better Stage to end the US vs Russian battle than at Wrestlemania with the WWE's biggest poster boy. It could do more harm than good to see Rusev continue on after Wrestlemania undefeated, it will just fizzle out.

I love how some people can't grasp the hypothetical scenario concept. "What if" situations are fun to think about sometimes.

Personally, I'd have Cena beat him at WrestleMania, then have Rusev cost Cena the title against someone else. Then Rusev gets the win at Extreme Rules, then feuds with Randy Orton. But as somebody else said, a feud with John Cena is a very slippery slope.

But as somebody else said, a feud with John Cena is a very slippery slope. That's the painful truth. There have been very few guys who have gained anything long term from feuding with Cena. The post feud usually leaves the wrestler directionless for weeks or months.

If Rusev beats Cena he becomes unbeatable, so whomever beats him has the potential to become THE man. My guess is into a program with Reigns to make Reigns look even stronger. Or Brock re-signs with WWE. Goes over Reigns. Rusev over Cena. Rusev vs. Lesnar. Rusver wins. Cena beats Rusev.

If only EC3 were still in WWE. He'd beat Rusev. For America.

While I agree that Rusev's "undefeated streak" should end sooner rather than later from a character development standpoint, I totally disagree that Cena should be the guy to end the streak. It's just another forgettable notch in the belt for him, whereas a mid-carder or NXT surprise call-up could have a career-defining moment. But of course, Cenas gonna Cena, and that streak is dead ing meat come Wrestlemania.

Honestly after Swagger was beat by Rusev he should have been taken off TV and returned in January to build up for a huge WrestleMania rematch where Swagger gets the big win for America and the US belt. People may disagree with me but I think that would have been HUGE for Swagger and would've made a great WrestleMania moment. He was so over at the time and after taking time off a big return with Zeb would have been off the charts big. Cena in this match just seems wrong.

That way when Cena beats Rusev the next night on Raw, all of that defeating Undertaker heat goes directly into Cena. Because Lesnar beats Taker, Rusev beats Lesnar, then Cena beats Rusev.
