WWE Logo appears on screen.
Highlights of the RVD/Randy Orton match from last week is shown.
Fireworks and pyro go off.
J.R.: Two tag team main events highlight the evening as we welcome you to WWE Smackdown. Hello again everyone I'm Jim Ross along with Jerry the King Lawler at ringside. King, tonight the WWE Tag Team Championships are up for grabs.
King: That's right J.R. It will be Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio defending against Triple H and Batista of Evolution. If last week was any indication I would say we may have new Champions tonight.
J.R.: That will be a hotly contested match as will be WWE Champion Randy Orton teaming with Christian to take on Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam and the Nature Boy Ric Flair.
King: There's no telling what's going to happen in that one.
J.R.: Also here tonight one-on-one, long time rivals Rowdy Roddy Piper faces Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff.
King: This one is so big that Shane McMahon has appointed a very special guest referee. I bet you know who it is J.R. Why don't you fill us in.
J.R.: Actually King I would love to, but I have no idea myself. In the meantime before the Hot Rod heads to combat he's about headed to the ring for Piper's Pit.
The bagpipes play as Roddy Piper makes his way to the ring.
Piper: Let's get right down to business. My guest is a man who up until King of the Ring had been undefeated for six straight months. He is simply put...the man...Goldberg!
J.R.: This place is on their feet for the one and only Goldberg.
Piper: Goldberg you've been full steam ahead since you arrived back in January, but a little road block was put in your way at King of the Ring. I know you want to get a little something off your chest.
Goldberg: Hot Rod, I was in the ring with two great athletes at King of the Ring. I went into battle against Brock Lesnar and the WWE Champion Randy Orton. But you know what it came down to. It wasn't either of those men that beat me. It wasn't the two of them combined that beat me. It was a man who is supposed to be a class act. A man who is an Olympic gold medalist. Kurt Angle and a chair is what put a dent in my armor. I still haven't been pinned in singles competition. I'm not really here to cry about getting my shoulders pinned to the mat. Because everyone knows what really happened. What I am here to do is call out Kurt Angle. So Kurt come on!
Piper: Mr. Kurt Angle if you are listening, please come on down. Your presence is requested.
Kurt Angle's music hits, but out comes Bobby Heenan down the aisle.
J.R.: Kurt Angle is a big coward if you ask me King.
Heenan: Excuse me Mr. Goldberg. I am here on behalf of my client Mr. Kurt Angle.
Goldberg: Well Brain then on behalf of your client why don't you tell him to get his a$$ down here so we can do this. I want Angle in this ring now!
Heenan: Goldberg, my client would like nothing better than to prove to the world that you can be beaten on any given night in any ring. However, tonight is not the night and that is not the ring. If you want Kurt Angle, you will sign on the dotted line to face him one-on-one in Phoenix, Arizona at Summer Slam!
King: Oh boy J.R. this is big.
Goldberg: Heenan, you tell Kurt he's on. Oh and you can also tell him...he's next!
Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas come out through the crowd and hop into the ring and attack Goldberg.
J.R.: What in the hell?
The start pounding on Goldberg. Piper drops his mic. and pulls Benjamin back and pokes him in the eyes. Goldberg turns the tide against Haas. Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff shows up and he hits the ring and nails Piper. They go at it. Goldberg clotheslines Haas to the outside. Benjamin nails Goldberg and sends him in, but he comes back with a spear. Goldberg goes to set up Benjamin for the Jackhammer, but Kurt Angle runs in and hits Goldberg with a chair. Goldberg drops Benjamin. Angle goes to nail Goldberg again, but he kicks the chair at Angle. Goldberg picks up the chair, but Angle and company take off to the back. Orndorff leaves as well.
J.R.: We've got chaos here tonight. Goldberg and Angle will meet at Summer Slam, but Piper and Orndorff will get it on here tonight. Don't go away!
Commercial Break.
A limousine arrives. Out of the car steps Teddy Long.

J.R.: The Japanese Buzzsaw and a member of the Yakuza are getting it on here to kick things off on Smackdown. It was announced on Raw this past Monday that there will be a Cruiserweight Invitational at Summer Slam and that anyone was invited. We have since learned that Tajiri as well as Sakoda's partner Akio have both signed on for that huge match.
Tajiri chops Sakoda and sends him in, but he is reversed once again. Sakoda connects with a hard elbow. Sakoda drops a couple of elbows and then delivers a back breaker for a near fall. Sakoda pounds on Tajiri. He scoops him up, but Tajiri turns it into a reverse DDT. Tajiri goes up top and connects with a moonsault for a near fall. Akio comes out on the stage and watches.
J.R.: Tajiri nearly had the match won on that exchange and now Akio is getting a closer look at one of his competitors for Summer Slam.
King: The Cruiserweight Title will be up for grabs at Summer Slam and it would be great if one of our Smackdown Superstars were to win it and take it away from Raw.
Tajiri kicks Sakoda in the corner. Sakoda comes back with a hard clothesline. Sakoda goes for a gutwrench, but Tajiri goes over and hits the ropes, but Sakoda catches him with a side slam for a two count.

Shane: Theodore Long how the hell are you?
Teddy: I'm very good playa. I just thought I would come by and give you the same heads up as I did Eric Bischoff on Raw.
Shane: Teddy I heard it all Monday Night about the shake up of the rosters. Believe me I am actually looking forward to it.
Teddy: It's going to be an exciting time for the fans and the entire WWE.
Shane: Teddy thanks for coming by and please be my guest and stay and watch the rest of the show.
Teddy: I think I'll just do that.
Teddy Long leaves the office and runs into Koko B. Ware walking down the hallway.
Teddy: Koko B. Ware. Good to see you back on the scene.
Ware: Oh yeah it's good to be back Teddy Long. The Birdman is in town and he is ready to soar to new heights.
Teddy: Good luck to you playa. Holla.
J.R.: Koko B. Ware returns to action here on Smackdown next!
Commercial Break.
WWE Rewind: Footage shows highlights of the William Regal interview on Raw directed at Triple H.
Evolution is in their locker-room.
Paul Orndorff: Can you believe the nerve of that guy?
Batista: Regal is a very articulate speaker.
Triple H: Yeah well if he ever has the guts to meet me face to face I will articulate a beating he'll never recover from.
Jeff Hardy: Regal is just one of those spineless aristocrats who talks, but doesn't back it up. I'm pretty sure that it's way more likely that punks like Kidman and Mysterio will get a win tonight than for that too happen and we all know how likely that scenario is.
Triple H: Hey they did beat Kane and Taker at King of the Ring. Of course Undertaker can't by a win these days. But enough with the chatter. Tonight Mr. Wonderful is going to put Roddy Piper on disability and the big man Batista and myself are going to walk out of here as the new WWE Tag Team Champions.
J.R.: Evolution are running their mouths quite a bit in the comfort of their locker-room, but what happens when they actually get in the ring with some of the greatest competitors we've ever had in the WWE.
King: I think Evolution is going to dominate everyone in their path starting tonight with the Hot Rod and the Tag Team Champions.
