...he was facing Rusev for the US Title at Wrestlemania instead of being the man to defeat Lesnar for the WWE Title??
I just think Reigns would be positioned better if he was the one to end Rusev's streak and take the US Title, even building up for the entire year to face the champion then at Wrestlemania 32, whether that still be Lesnar or someone new.
What does everyone think??

I agree. It's not that people don't like Reigns, it's just he shouldn't be main eventing Wrestlemania yet.

He'd be one of the more over guys on the roster in my opinion. He already has a huge following and most of the people who don't like him only don't because of the way WWE has booked him. If he was in the mid card right now most of his haters would probably be in love with him. Including me.

I agree.
But people will come in this thread and say that if he's not in the WWE Title picture, it means he'll be in nonsense feuds with the likes of Fandango. That's asinine. If he was booked correctly, he could end the streak and have a year's worth of singles matches on his resume against Rollins, Rusev and others before earning the top spot.

I still would have put him against Cena in a number one contenders match. Rusev would face Ryback. And Bryan would have faced Brock. Oh well, armchair booking isn't perfect. I'll still enjoy the show.

I've said it before, but I actually really like Reigns and think he can be the face of the company, but he isn't ready yet as a performer or character. I would have him beat Rusev for the title at Mania. This would give him a singles championship and the opportunity to have more matches as a singles star. It also gives him the rub of being the first guy to beat Rusev. Reigns can hold on to it for a while, building up the credibility of the championship. Perhaps even have a champion vs. champion match at SummerSlam or some type of attraction match that still makes him look like an important player. Perhaps have him face Rollins or even a three way with Rollins and Ambrose (this is just a general idea). Then 2016 he wins the Rumble and main events WrestleMania where he wins the championship. Obviously none of that can happen now, but I think fans would have been a LOT more receptive. They also may have been more receptive had he not gotten injured when he did because that really hurt his momentum.

Nah. The stars have aligned for him now. Brock vs. Reigns.

I would like him more if he didnt wear a ing vest and cargo pants to the ring. It looks stupid. Other then that, I think the guy is going to be gold.

I would like Roman Reigns more if it was a year or two from now and he had hopefully improved both in the ring and on the microphone.
He just doesn't wrestle well enough or talk well enough, IN MY OPINION, to be the WWE Champion.
It's not his faut though. He seems like a good kid who's doing the best he can. It's his company that is setting him up to fail by asking him to be something that he's not ready to be yet.

I like him ok as is, but yeah I'd be more behind him if it were against Rusev. Oh well.

yes absolutely. people dont seem to realize that MOST of us who are against this whole Roman thing are NOT against it because of the guy personally
its because the company is soooooo obviously forcing the issue. and it's completely sour. add that to the fact Reigns is not even close to the level that say Sheamus or Del Rio were in their first 2 years...and those guys were mega pushed...and neither of them got to main event Wrestlemania. This company is throwing Reigns down our throats because they WANT him to be the biggest star on the planet, failing to realize that its a new era, and people dont want to be forced into who they should like the best....neither do kids. The WWE should be catering to their fans, not to their own personal decisions....but that's Vince and he's always gonna be that way.
Reigns absolutely would be better off facing and defeating Rusev...winning the US title, defending that title for awhile against all challengers, making a run at the WWE title and failing only to be built up again bigger and better in another year or so as legitimate thread to the WWE title
instead we got him getting to eliminate big show & kane single handedly at the rumble...spearing a few guys, jumping 4 feet in the air, having 1 tag team title reign and somehow he's the greatest wrestler in the history of the entire wrestling universe and YOU WILL LIKE IT
it's horrendously stupid on so many levels.
but it's not actually about Reigns. it's about everything going on around him to force us to think he's "better" than The Rock/Austin/Cena/Lesnar/Undertaker/Sid/Doin/TL Hopper & The Junkyard Dog

I like Reigns don't get me wrong.
But I don't care if you're the biggest Roman Reigns fan there is, he doesn't deserve to be in the Main Event of WrestleMania yet.
Key word: YET.

It's one of those things you really only can do once. And the WWE hasn't even come close to making Reigns like Goldberg. Goldberg had more charisma in his right arm than Reigns.

It's harder to get stuff over these days. Gimmicks that get no reaction like Bo Dallas or Adam Rose (sorry guys, I love you but let's be real) would have been huge in the Attitude Era. I am positive. When Wyatt debuted, what did they fans do? Chant Husky Harris. Lord Tensai debuts? Chant Albert. I forgot who but a wrestler said that it's just harder to get people over these days because of the changed perspectives.

I think that is definately the overall view.
Positioned to be the one to defeat Rusev at 'Mania, maybe even following a defeat to him at Fast Lane (instead of Cena) would have near guaranteed Reigns a more long-term transitional response from the crowd.
