As good as it is to see the Boxset made, does anyone else find it odd that they chose to make the faction as they never appeared in the WWE.
This also pertains to any other wrestler/group that are included in the WWE Hall of Fame but never appeared there who could be made.
Do you think a subtle change of packaging should apply perhaps ?.
Thoughts ?.

As a huge Horsemen mark, the only figure that stands out as "not accurate" is the Barry Windham. Only because Windham didnt have a ponytail/beard in his first run with the Horsemen but rather in his second run when Sid was around instead of Tully. That being said, after Mattel said they would like to do a Windham and I made a poll asking what look people wanted, the ponytail/beard look was a complete runaway....so Mattel actually listened to all of us because that's the look we wanted. Other then the Flair sculpt, which I just simply dont like because of the smile and Ill use the DM head for a swap...I think the box set is perfect and for a ticket prices of $49.99 to $69.99, I think its a steal.

They never appeared in WWF. But wwe is really wcw, ecw, awa, nwa, and whoever else when you really think about it. WWE owns all rights and material.

I don't find it odd at all Ric Flair was one of the top 5 wrestlers of all time his faction spanned many years and with out them I don't believe there would have been nWo or dx.

I know people are excited, but I think this set is a pretty big gamble. The older fans, so the 35ish and over crowd, are going to try and tell me I'm crazy, and that's fine, but they're wrong imo. "It's the 4 Horsemen doe!" Doesn't mean that much in 2015. Especially when you consider they were an NWA/WCW faction. I'm a big huge WCW fan, but we're a dying breed. So even though WWE has kept the Horsemen legacy alive, it's not exactly prominent.
Then you have to look at your target demographic for these sets. They're going to be at least $50, which is a great pice, but it prices out most of the moms buying their kid a toy, and it's not aimed at them anyway, so there goes that consumer avenue. So if the production run isn't low, I think there stands a good chance these sit for awhile. If 10 sets of Horsemen show up at every Target, that's more supply than demand. If each store gets, say, three to five, then I say this can probable be successful. I'm honestly expecting this to end up discounted at some point, pending distribution.
Something like DX or the NWO would have sold better, 1000% imo. But neither group is in the HOF yet. The Horsemen might be the greatest faction ever and they're the most popular of any group available to put in a Hall of Fame pack. Bill got the go ahead to do it and he wanted to give us Windham and he made that happen. That's extremely awesome as a guy looking to finish off his Horsemen collection, but at the same time I want this kind of set to continue into the future. We're at a point that if it doesn't work, Mattel will just kill it. So in my mind, a ton is riding on this one box set. A Mega Powers set, an NWO set, a DX Wiseguyz set, Edge/Lita/Matt Hardy haha, just anything. So I'm personally hoping that Mattel plays it safe with production and we see these succeed so we can get more.
As for the Horsemen never being in WWE/WWF, not a big deal. As has been said, you have to think of WWE as WCW, ECW, AWA, WCCW and so on because they own those properties. As someone who saw the Legends line fail though, and specifically Elite 2-packs, I'm just very nervous about this whole deal, honestly.

my only worry about this 4pack is the price - how steep will it be? Bill said Target sets the price, but they are suggesting around $50....which for 4 Elites would be a steal. I'm sure Target will make it $80, though, because they have the highest figure prices of any retail store, to my knowledge.

This boxset is the "put your money where your mouth is". People here said Mattel catered too much towards kids and not adult collectors. This boxset is basically for serious collectors. Its success or failure depends on if people go out and buy it. Target's HOF series so far been a success. If this performs well, we will see other potential sets like NWO and DX. I'm planning to buy a set or 2 when it debuts.

I'm thrilled to be getting this set, and I love that we are finally getting Windham. I already have Tully, Arn and Ric, so the fact that they went with different attires instead of just rereleases like most multi packs are, makes this even more awesome. Bill said it's designed to be around $50 retail, which is way better than I thought. This does open the door for nWo and DX packs obviously. If I'm dreaming I'd love a Dangerous Alliance pack(Another Rude, Stunning Steve, Madusa...) or if the Freebirds went into the HoF next year in Dallas....

So more elites not available in the UK? We didnt get the current HOF set and now we will miss out on this set as well Not to mention we arent get the WM heritage elites. This is a joke, the European market are being more and more ignored. Why am I the only one complaining I mean this is a disgrace, how many times have we missed out on these excellent figures? Why is no one putting these questions forward to Bill and his MDT?
