This is from Kevin Smiths facebook page: Saw some websites are reporting CLERKS III will be my last flick. I did say this at one point, but Tusk changed all that. Now, the next 2 years are booked. We shoot CLERKS III in May. The HIT SOMEBODY hockey miniseries finally follows in the fall, shooting September to Christmas 2015. Then in Feb/March 2016, we tackle MOOSE JAWS and ANTI-CLAUS. And after that? I smell a rat... www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/419409-is-kevin-smith-working-on-a-mallrats-sequelI smell a rat..... God I hope this is true, Mallrats is probably my favourite Kevin Smith movie, I liked Clerks but that was a few years back, probably going to watch them both leading up to Clerks 3

Clerks 2 remains my favorite Kevin Smith flick. I'm down for basically whatever he does at this point. His only real bust has been 'Cop Out'. Tusk has reinvigorated his creative spirit, so I'm looking forward to all his stuff moving forward.
*Edit* I hope they bring Michael Rooker back, too. And Affleck does at least a small cameo. If only just 1-2 lines.

Anything the man does I will stand by and enjoy.
I have vacation in May and he has mentioned needing extras for Clerks III, so if the stars align I may try and make that happen.

I'm sorry but Mallrats was God awful. It was one of those movies that I really wanted to like too.
To me, Kevin Smith's best moments were Chasing Amy and J & S Strike Back. Although in fairness, I haven't seen any of his work since Zack and Miri. I gave up after that one.

The Kevin Smith weed smoking era has been interesting to say the least.
With that said, as a huge fan of Kevin Smith I really hope he does not make a 2nd Mallrats movie.

I'd love a Mallrats 2. Anything to see what Brodie is up to now.

I would love to see Mallrats 2. I love the Kevin Smith movie universe, especially Clerks 2, Jay and Bob Strike Back, and Mallrats.
I've not seen Tusk yet.

And Affleck does at least a small cameo. If only just 1-2 lines. Maybe show him sitting in the back of a Volkswagen... No lines.

Mallrats is probably my favorite KS movie ever. I do have nearly equal love for Clerks 2 and Dogma but Mallrats is the one I quote the most, pretty much since the day I saw it. Particularly the Brodie dialogue. Hartford, the Whale. I would be up for a sequel. Clerks 2 proved to me that Kevin Smith can not only meet the standards of a previous rendition of his work, but improve upon it. So, bring it on.

As a big KS fan, I hope this NEVER happens. I like Mallrats too, but in a, "so bad it's a 90's classic," way. Mallrats is a ing cringworthy mess with some funny moments and classic lines. Leave the memories alone. KS is grasping at straws right now. He's jumping on this B-horror movie bandwagon as a way to extend his directing career, which would probably die otherwise. If he had the foresight to expand the View Askew Universe, instead of doing sequels, maybe kids today would know who Jay and Silent Bob are. And they don't. Mallrats is BY FAR...BYYYY FAAAAAARRRR the worst View Askew universe film. It's GD terrible. But we love it despite itself. Just leave it alone.

I watched Mallrats for the first time sometime last year and loved it, so I would love a sequel.

Don't know if I "need" Clerks 3, but I'd be excited for a sequel to Mallrats. It's my favorite of his movies.

Outside of the requisite "Yes" chant, the only thing that would seem to get my enthusiasm across would be a visit to the easter bunny...

I would prefer Kevin Smith try to branch out and create new characters and movies, but it seems like his attempts to do so lately kind of failed, so he is just going to suck as much money out of his hardcore fans as he can.
I don't think Mallrats was terrible, but when I saw it in theaters I was kind of disappointed because I loved Clerks so much. It has its moments. But I really liked Dogma, Chasing Amy, Clerks 2, and Jay and Silent Bob. Zack and Miri was OK. But Tusk I thought was just completely awful just like Cop Out, Red State, and Jersey Girl.
At some point, I kind of got tired of Kevin Smith the person too. His podcast is one of the most smug, fart sniffing, listen to how awesome I am things I have ever heard. And now it seems he is going to start shoving his daughter into everything too. Honestly, I'm kind of just over him in general.

I'll support Kevin Smith forever.
But I'm not blinded by Kevin Smith, and think making Mallrats 2 in this day and age is not a good idea..

I'd rather see another Jay & Silent Bob movie, honestly.
