Lupe Fiasco does no wrong in my eyes.
And I'm just now listening to the new Kendrick.. If anyone's a fan of hip-hop Joey Bada$$ dropped his EP this year as well.

This is going to be one giant ramble, so bare with me. I love this so much. I honesty didn't know what to expect because I hated "i". I loved "The Blacker the Berry", and wasn't huge on "King Kunta", but I remember not liking "Swimming Pools" until I heard "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City" and loving it because of how much it fit. So, when I finally heard the album, all those songs fit so perfectly and the rearrangement of "i" is fantastic. The albums has such flow and the transitions are insane. I love the live instruments. Thundercat is all over this thing and he's probably my favorite bassist and Flying Lotus being on a track is amazing too. Kendrick was starting to fall off for me. Started to think he was getting somewhat overrated, but shame of me for ever thinking that. He completely redeemed himself for me with this album, I honestly can't get enough of it.

Not usually a fan of jazz-infused rap, but this album really is brilliant. While it's not as sonically pleasing to me as GKMC, the substance here really is on another tier and Kendrick continues to grow as a rapper. Definitely gonna stay in my top 5 this year.

It was alright. Probably had my expectations a bit too high after GKMC.

This song really kind of opens up to me in my own way because even though I'm not African American or any part African for that matter, I can relate to the anger he feels and the way he feels unaccepted by society. Extremely powerful lyrics, a special song in my opinion because if anyone can find their own meaning or relevance in a song then it will stick with them for a long long time. From what I understand though, at the end he's talking about black on black crime resulting in gangs and blood spillage "When gang banging make me kill a n**** blacker than me? Hypocrite!" I take this that Kendrick is angry at how African Americans are treated by mainly the white members of society BUT he is even more angry at how the black community treats its own kind and that the sooner they wake up and realise that they're killing each other for no reason the better. The beginning of the song however is pro black which is very clear to see as he names out his features and calls himself "black as the moon" showing off that he is proud of his race and doesn't care what anyone says, but the repetition of the line "I'm the biggest hypocrite of 2015" shows to me that he says one thing about his community but feels another, the songs one big puzzle. I doubt anyone will even bother to read this but I thought I'd spread some knowledge and i'm interested to see how anyone else feels about this particular song, as for the album? It's ing gold.
