I collect records pretty regularly, though now a days I mainly stick to digging at thrifts or record joints in the used sections. Get me in a good record store and I'll easily drop over 100$ or whatever records and sometimes cassettes I find. Crate digging has always been a big thing for Hip-Hop heads to do and is a big aspect of the dj element and overall to hip-hop culture, plus theres something about proudly having your music in these big, badass sleeves rather than just owning a cd. Theres a lot of aesthetic and historical importance to me for collecting rather than just listening on vinyl rather than mp3. Same with tapes, it's more about owning the object and what it is rather then playing the tapes, sure I listen to them, but if I collected just to listen to music then I wouldn't be collecting in the first place. This is my current collection, this is all Hip-Hop, but I've started a collection of about 40 or so Soul/Funk records that I'm trying to grow on that isn't in the picture. Plus for me I'm always posting album on my instagram.

I mostly buy classic rock vinyl as I feel that is the genre best listened to on it. But I do buy some 80's or 90's stuff on vinyl if I come across it cheap. I don't get into buying modern stuff on vinyl, though sometimes if something new is released and comes with a digital download with the vinyl I will.
