I very rarely buy movies anywhere. Between Netflix and Amazon Prime most I want are available for free. If not I can almost always rent them for a small price if I really want to watch them. The only Blu Rays I have ever bought is Wrestlemania 24 and that is only because I was there. Owning physical copies of movies seems pretty pointless these days as it costs more, and takes up space. I'm starting to agree. I sold off almost my entire wrestling DVD collection when I got the WWE Network. I haven't looked back. I used to buy BluRay movies weekly but haven't bought one in...months and months.

Most I bought I had already seen before in theaters. SO often I bought it and never watched it. Or I would maybe watch it once. Why the hell was I paying $15-$20 for something I am not going to use just because "I liked it."

There are certain ones I will keep forever and never get rid of but plenty of others I could probably part ways with and never miss.

I blind buy movies ALL. THE. TIME... The way I see it is, even if it's a movie I don't like, I can still learn something as a filmmaker. Still cheaper than film school, too. Movies I've Blind Bought so I can't judge, because I haven't watched them yet: - Maleficent -Shutter Island -Into the Woods - A Good Day to Die Hard -Edge of Tomorrow -Lucy Movies that I bought on BD, I probably wouldn't have bought at all, had I known: -Bait (the Great Whites in a Supermarket) on BD, I got from Blockbuster when they were closing. Hard for me to pass up a Shark movie, so long as it doesn't end in -nado. -Bridesmaids was painfully unfunny to me. -GI Joe: Retaliation -Hansel & Gretel (Sorry Renner) -Hercules 3D (Sorry Adkins) -The LEGO Movie (sue me, I hated it) - Ninja II (Sorry again, Adkins) -Oculus (I don't get why it was called one of the better horror movies from last year?) -Ride Along (It's really hard for me to find Kevin Hart funny in large doses) -The Three Musketeers (the most recent big budget one) You really should take time out of your day to watch Shutter Island. I genuinely think it's fantastic and I don't know that the thriller noir concept has ever been put to such good use. I've watched that movie at least a dozen times. I really should just buy it. I also really love Edge of Tomorrow. I've heard people compare it to Source Code, a film I also enjoyed, but I think it's a similar concept done much better. It's pretty deeply rooted in the psychology of the characters as much as it is the "save the day" plotline. But yeah, I own EoT and have watched it multiple times at this point. Hansel & Gretel was disappointingly terrible. I'm a big fan of Renner and Arterton too. Yeah, I'm going to watch it here soon. I found it, Se7en, Zodiac, and Old School in the 7.88 bin at Walmart just yesterday, and picked them up. There are some steals in that bargain bin, once in a while. I already owned Se7en on DVD, but it's probably my favorite Fincher movie, and the dude is probably the best working Director in Hollywood right now. So much of what he does is just a clinic. I wouldn't say he's on Kurosawa level. That man's movies are a lesson in filmmaking, every time you put one in. But there's certainly a lot to take from Fincher's movies. Which is why I picked up Zodiac too, which is one of, if not my least favorite of his.

Once you've seen Melisa McCarthy act in 1 movie, you've seen all of her movies.
The worst for me is Fright Night 2 (the remake) I bought it thinking it was the original Fright Night 2, with Roddy McDowel but instead I bought a poopy remake. I hated the first remake with Colin "No Talent" Farrel so it blew my mind that movie had a sequel.
That's my worst Blu Ray. I have tons of GARBAGE dvds.

I was physically at work all day, so that I can get a real pay check. So when I buy something I want to actually be able to hold it. I dont see myself ever buying a digital copy of a movie. I actually prob own multiple digital copies of films. Lots of the Blu Rays/DVDs I buy come with a free digital copy. I never use those codes though. See a digital copy of a film means lots of going around in circles. First websites want you to set up an account. Then set up a password. Then most of those passwords have to contain; a capital letter, a number, a punctuation symbol, no consecutive letters, cant end in a number, a haiku, and blood of your first born. I hate it, I wont remember it. Then I'll spend data to watch something I supposedly own, so every time I want to watch the fim again, ill be incurring more charges. The absolute worst though is the fact that when you buy a digital movie/game/album you pay the same as you would for a physical copy. Think about it. The corporations save money all around when you buy digital. They don't have to pay for a factory to produce the discs and package them. They don't have to pay for a warehouse to store the discs. They don't have to pay for a fleet of trucks to deliver the discs. All that is savings. Yet they don't pass those savings on to the customers.

I always buy physical copies if there is no price incentive to buy digital. Although I don't really even buy digital. I just watch them for free on Netflix or Amazon, or I pay to rent them on amazon or on demand for a couple of bucks. I do buy digital music. But I make make as many physical copies of it as I want. And honestly there is no difference between a movie on a dvd or a movie on a USB drive. The cd and USB drive are both just devices that store digital data. You plug the cd into a cd player. You plug the USB drive into a computer or other media device. It's all digital data on a storage device.

Only movie I've ever bought going in blind on Blu Ray was Date Night and I enjoyed it. I went in blind when I bought The Following on Blu Ray in January and it became one of my favorite shows.
I've bought several movies on regular DVD not knowing anything about them.
Lawless was actually good Friends with Kids (Horrible ending killed the movie for me) The Kingdome (Thought it was exciting) Our Family Wedding (Saw it had Carlos Mencia in it and I like him but the movie sucked)

I prefer DVDs as well. Unless they make free wifi everywhere in the world, there's no way DVDs will go away. Plus some people just don't like Netflix, want to pay for it, have good enough internet, or just straight up prefer having their own copy of the movie to keep.
I like DVD's, I guess I can say I collect them. I try and have every single one of my favorite movies on DVD. Being a graphic designer, I like the cover art as well and a good DVD cover can honestly sell me on whether I buy it or not

Probably Wanted. Not a bad movie but not a great one either, and I can't get rid of it. Same with Pain & Gain

But if those things don't matter to individuals, I can't see why anyone would not go strictly digital.

And why didn't you like Jack Reacher? I'm finding myself like Tom Cruise movies more than ever lately. JR was one fun movie.

I think the only Cruise film I haven't enjoyed in like the last ten years is Knight and Day, which really had more to do with the premise of the film than Cruise himself. The Katie Holmes and Scientology stuff might have buried his personal life and public image but I think he's been pretty awesome on-screen.

And why didn't you like Jack Reacher? Oh, I enjoyed it. It brings absolutely nothing new to the genre, but it's an entertaining action romp. However, I have never had the urge, nor do I think I will, to watch it again, so I deemed it the worst film I bought.
