I have been thinking about this, and wanted to get some thoughts and maybe even a comment from Mattel. I know this died a slow death, but so did legends and defining moments once upon a time. My thoughts would be to bring them back, but likely only on repaints of A level talent (cost down, appeal high) Maybe 6 figures a year? I missed the boat last time (Jakks hang over was still in full affect).....
With the success of DM, Flashbacks and HOF, I think this could work???
Thoughts?

It would be a fantastic way to get obscure 80s and attitude era guys out there!

I'm torn. I'm all for Mattel making new figures, but between RSC exclusives, the HoF set, Defining Moments, WM Elites, and Flashbacks in the Elite line, MDT is really taking care of most adult fans. Since Bill has been there, Mattel has been killing it. I think we should be thankful for what we have and count our blessings. These last couple years in particular have been great!
They really need to change the way they distribute the BaF sets and who are in said sets instead of creating another label, albeit one that's been used before. Imagine them making a Heenan set with four wrestlers he managed being sold exclusively through Amazon Prime...

Doubt Matty will try it again since it bombed in their eyes.

Matty? As in mattycollector.com? Hmmmm...what's the word I'm looking for? Oh, yeah. That's it.
NO!!!!!!!!
Sorry, dude. It's a great idea in principle, but I don't want to see that smug little bastard's face ever again.

I love obscure characters, but I wouldn't pay $30+ each like the old Mattycollector figures. Unless it was Gobbledygooker, Shockmaster, or Max Moon. Considering were getting rereleases of most of the Matty figures(Andre, Brainbusters, rumored DDP), I think all it's gonna take is some more patience imo.
I think we could definitely use more ways to get flashbacks(and repaints of said flashbacks) though.

Be grateful we're getting the HOF series after the Legends bomb. why should we be "grateful"... Mattel doesn't make figures for us, cause we are "grateful". They make them so they can turn a buck, and look after stock holders. I get that Bill try's where possible to listen to collectors and put in figures that we want. But at the end of the day, we can want and be grateful until the cows come home, if they don't think they can make money from it, it isn't going to happen. I am glad that HOF and DM are being made, purely because I believe the best wrestling/wrestlers are in the past, but Mattel makes these figures to make money, not for us the collector. Rey is a perfect example (for the record, I loved Rey figures, I also like Cena figures cause his figures are well done and full of Colours and look great MOC). But if the line was made for Collectors', we would've had BJS and Magnum TA years ago... Sorry for the rant just have issues with being grateful to a company that makes money from me. (and rightfully so, they make a excellent product in my eyes, and one im happy to support and spend money on)++

I'm all for any way to get more legends I liked Randy's idea about the BAF sets being all flashbacks building their manager

If Matty got obscure one-offs once a year, that might be okay. But I don't think they'd try another line there since they couldn't even complete the set they envisioned with Liz and had to instead release her at retail.

Agreed, but that doesn't mean they put out HOF figures just because they like us, they do it to make money, pain and simple. If u and I stop buying them, HOF and DM stop. I don't understand why we should be "grateful" for a product we buy that a company makes money from? But I get where u are coming from, but I just think the word grateful shouldn't be used in this context. Just my opinion, but u know what they say about opinions .

Not interested in paying 30 plus 10 shipping for figures that will be brought back and released in the Elite line down the road at a fraction of the cost lol

Mattycollector will suck as long as they are partnered with Digital River.

I'm all for any way to get more legends I liked Randy's idea about the BAF sets being all flashbacks building their manager Only thing I don't like about the manager BAF idea is the fact that, for carded collectors like myself, it totally ruins our chances of having them carded. It kills me to HAVE to have loose figures along with my carded ones to have the characters I want.

I honestly hate mattycollector I spend money I didn't need to spend on doomsday( contamination suit figure ) that I thought was gonna the final dc classic release then only to end up buying the doomday unleashed figure I truly wanted when they said it wasn't gonna be released
