Did you see what WWE did to ECW? NO WAY IN HELL THAT THIS SHOULD HAPPEN! it was just a joke but i hope sting dont show up until next years road to wm. and then they gave us sting vs taker. I don't think it's going to happen. If I was Sting, I'd be pretty PO'd after that s****y match and what Vince said this morning on that conference call.

I have never, ever, saw any hype with an Undertaker and Sting feud. No matter how many times people suggest it I will never want it.
I hope he is done, he could retire now and still go out great, last night wasn't even that bad really.

In all honesty I could see that promo Triple H cut coming into play tonight on RAW. Sting says he thought Triple H finally saw the light and they shook hands only for Trips to come back out and cut Sting down. Sting says Trips put him through hell but he isn't down yet and he isn't going to let The Authority make him look like a fool again.
Probably won't happen but I could picture it.

People rag on Hogan for his ego and putting himself over, but he's 2nd fiddle to Paul for sure. That tool even booked himself to beat Brock Lesnar once, for Christ's sake. I really appreciate his mending fences with guys like Bruno and Warrior, but his "am I f**king going over or what" stuff when it comes to him wrestling makes me sick.
What was gained by him beating Sting, for anyone? Who benefitted from that outcome in any way? Paul is married into the company, wrestles once a year, his legacy is etched in granite because he's doing the etching. Sting finally showed up as a once in a lifetime thing and he jobbed? That was awful. That was stupid.
And then you know if they have Sting/Taker who will win that as well. Not sure why Sting signed up for this aside from action figure royalties, since everyone on this board at the very least will be buying his Elite..

This match is no different than Hulk Hogan losing to the Rock at WM18. Fans could not wait for Hogan's return to the house he helped build. But he still lost clean in a entertaining match. A match that showed even at his age, he could still go with one of the best. Least Sting was cheated out of his victory instead of losing clean like Hogan did.
Also people need to remember Sting himself has said him and Vince always had a good relationship. So Vince's comment on this conference call was more likely in character. I wouldn't get offended by it.

I was questioning why he lost last night, but I'm pretty sure tonight on RAW we will get the answers we need, if there's no explanation, it was a pointless booking, this match wasn't right for this year, but I guess Sting especially isn't getting any younger, there was limited opportunities to do it on the big stage.

I think Sting lost all credibility when he lost and shook H's hand. That whole match was a cluster with DX and NWO getting involved. Plus Sting's whole purpose was to defeat the NWO when he was in WCW; why the hell now would the NWO want to help out Sting? This is turning into a rant I apologize, but I'm not done yet. Why did they have have Triple H go over? Why, because WWE always wins against WCW? that crap it happened 14 years agao Vince get over it!!! Triple Ego is too big that he wont even let Sting pin him, it's bullcrap! Vince is so out of touch I just wish he'd go away from creative or yelling is someones ear. and do stocks instead.

...am I the only one who watched it and thought it was awesome?! I loved it! I marked like crazy for DX and the nWo! I thought the crowd did too but after reading these threads it seems everyone hated it?
I don't understand why Sting lost though, and why he then shook his hand... that was the downside. One of the best matches of the night for me. Maybe because I had low expectations for it, match wise... and not much interest in it.

I personally enjoyed the match although the ending was a bit deflating. The handshake I don't mind as to me, it wasn't meant to be taken as part of the storyline. I surely hope Sting notches a win in WWE but if not, he went out with in a big way and looked good. I could see a Sting victory over HHH or Taker at SS and then a loss to Taker at WM 32 and I would be okay with that.

This is how I would book it...
Sting comes out and talks about whatever. Says it was great to finally wrestle in WWE blah blah. He closes out by saying that he's now accomplished everything he's ever set out to do in this business and that it's time for him to move on. He thanks the WWE universe and all his fans from over the years and the audience gives him a long ovation. As he's getting ready to leave the ring, the lights go out... Gong. Taker comes out. Stares Sting down. Nothing would need to be said (similar to HHH and Taker in 2011). That would be enough to set things in motion for WM 32.
Either that or have Sting kill Michael Cole. Whichever.

I doubt we ever see Sting again. I honestly think they screwed him. I think they lured him into this company so that they could put the screws to the very last WCW guy they never were able to bury. Because Sting was the heart and soul of WCW and as long as he never did business with WWE, a little part of WCW was still alive and untouched. So I think they lured him in with the promises of a big payday and main stream exposure, they probably promised him Undertaker next year, and probably told him he was going to win the match at first. I seriously think the finish of that match was changed the day of Wrestlemania. None of this DX/nWo stuff was ever eluded to in the build up, and the first time we heard of it being a no DQ match was when Lilian Garcia said it moments before the match. Sting resisted coming to WWE for 14 years because he was worried about how they would use him....how he allowed last night to happen is beyond me. If he was going to come to WWE and LOSE at Wrestlemania, he should have just lost to The Undertaker LAST NIGHT. Realistically, the was no reason for Undertaker/Bray Wyatt to fight, and all it did was hurt Bray. We'll probably never see Sting again in WWE. Before Mania yesterday they probably told him that plans changed, Triple H was going over, WM32 was off the table, and tonight was it. He couldn't refuse to work or he'd get sued and lose all that money, so it was what it was. I truly believe that. I see no other reason why any of this happened. He could have come in and got buried 14 years ago, and he would have had a long enough WWE career after that to where he would have been able to eventually be on top, like Jericho and Booker T. Last night was not the payoff that I've been waiting for these past 14 years. Great post. You nailed it.

You're full of "probably this" and "probably that." I'd love to see Triple H and Sting read your post side by side.
