I just watched it back, and you can clearly hear him say it. Also just quickly made this. You can see the moment where he tucks his head in close and thanks him. This has me wondering though. Does this mean the original plan was Reigns to win but he gave it up for Seth? I'm curious of the same thing... Perhaps someone came back with a quality idea the past 24 hrs or so before the show, to help him develop, and Reigns was like "...alright."? I HAVE to believe Reigns won over more than a few people last night? That was exactly what most of us (fans, or not) wanted to see out of him, and that match. Give him a few months to build off that, or hell, even til next WM...I still believe the plan up until very close to the show was to have Reigns raise the Title at the end of the night. I would have liked to see it, especially after seeing Reigns offer up his body to the ring like that, but I have no problem waiting to see it, now. I give him tons of props for last night. He went out and, even though he wasn't leaving with the belt, took shots from Brock and hit him hard back. Give him more build through the summer while he chases and the belt and it will be loads better than just putting the belt on him last night.

The only thing I wasn't sure of, that Roman proved to me last night, was whether or not he could actually come out and perform in the Main Event of WM on his own. Against someone like Brock, who does not exactly carry matches. From his entrance, through the fade out, Roman delivered in the main event of Wrestlemania. I expected he could, but even I had my question marks. Those are set aside now. Now if he could just come out and have the comfort with promos that he does doing interviews, and talk shows -- he's a quality face for the company Post-Cena. I look forward to Roman/Seth's feud.

Am I the only one who still isn't sold on Reigns?

Time to find something different. I'm not a fan of it, either, even if I am a fan of him.

Am I the only one who still isn't sold on Reigns? I was not impressed by Roman Reigns. What did he do last night? He got thrown around by Brock for the entire match until Brock hit his own head on the post, and then Roman Reigns hit 3 of those RIDICULOUS Superman punches, and then 2 spears. So Roman Reigns did 2 offensive moves the entire match. He didn't impress me at all. Brock could have been in there with a crash test dummy.

Am I the only one who still isn't sold on Reigns? Just not sure how much more the man can do to prove he's worth a spot at the top, honestly. He had a great WRESTLING match with D Bry. He had a hard hitting brawl with Brock Lesnar. His mic work is improving, albeit slowly. He has the look, and certainly has the athleticism. I mean, some people will just never be down with him. Ever. And that's alright, the great thing is, you're allowed to cheer/boo whoever you want, but I think that my point is -- Roman Reigns has done more than his fair share, in the small amount of time he's had (mostly because of injury) to prove he belongs, at this point.

I didn't necessarily want to see Reigns kick out of 3 goddamn F5's, when it took the same amount to beat Cena and Taker. Not to mention after the 4th, he still manages a spear.

It's an actual MMA technique used very often.

Let's get one thing straight. Roman didn't "give up" winning the title to end the biggest show of the year to Rollins. Fan reactions changed everything. Romans push fell flat. They had to re adjust. There's not a shot in hell their initial plans were for Rollins to cash in at Mania.
This is a simple case of a respectful worker giving thanks to the guy doing the job for him. They came in together They're obviously close. But there's no one breathing that would purposely say they don't want to get the ultimate rub and then pass it off to someone else. That wasn't the case.

I thought it was rad that he kicked out of them, and was even laughing at/taunting Lesnar. Works well from a story perspective, I think. Lesnar did his part in selling the frustration too. *edit* And if we're talking strictly from a story standpoint here. Isn't Taker over twice Reigns' age? And didn't Cena get another 20 suplexes or more, than Reigns? Just something to note.

In MMA it is done from very close range and the only reason it looks like it does is because it is supposed to be a deceptive move, but it RARELY works. It usually ends up looking like this when guys try it: In real fighting, if somebody came running across the ring and did that high of a jumping punch, their opponent is going to move and then pummel the crap out of him. I know wrestling moves are kayfabe and a lot of time the guy is either laying there or standing there waiting for you to do a move that would never work in real life....but the "Superman punch" has gotta be the worst right now.

Yeeeaaaa, no. There's variety for days with the move. Neither one of your gifs are Superman punches, they are feints. A feint is used to set up a strike or takedown, its a fake. So, yea. Totally wrong there. Also, yea, it is kayfabe. It's fake. It's an action movie, a comic book. Roman's punch is very pleasing to the eye, whether you're in the front row or the nosebleeds. It's the perfect move for a big strong wrestler.

So I just finished watching the entire match, again, because of this thread. I hate to sound corny, but I think that moment, when he said that, is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in wrestling. Because it isn't Seth Rollins saying it; Colby Lopez is saying it. A guy who has climbed up from the lowest indie ranks to win the world title at WrestleMania. Shawn Michaels' boyhood dream is shared by many, and for another guy it just happened. I'm honestly very happy for him.
As for Reigns, look I know it's fake and all but that looked like he took a shoot ass kicking for the good of the show, and that deserves respect. Nobody wanted him to win, he didn't, can we go back to liking the guy now? He may not have been doing Asai moonsaults out there but he played his role perfectly. If I wasn't a fan before, I am now.

Thanks for throwing that together @patchy
One of those great Mania moments that many will never know about. Glad someone heard him say that. Incredible stuff.

I give Roman Reigns lots of props for the ass kicking that he took, but other than that he didn't do anything at all that impressed me. He literally did the two moves that he has been doing over and over again for months now. He did not belong in a main event of Wrestlemania, just like the Miz didn't. However, I think this will do wonders for his career, unlike Miz. He has a long ways to go on the Mic and in the ring but he has a good look now some of that hate for him will go away since the only reason anybody was hating on him to begin with was the push he was getting, not really hate against him.
