I can't stand Vin Diesel. I will never have any desire to see these films. They just look like they have a frat boy vibe to them.

I'll never understand going into a thread where the topic is something you have zero interest in, just for you to let everyone know you have no interest in it.
Like going into a library just to tell everyone you hate books and reading so you don't plan on ever getting a library card.
Just my opinion.

I wasn't trying to call anyone out or anything, just noticed a few responses in the thread with that basic idea and it puzzled me.

Had high hopes for this and they were all completely let down. Terrible flick. At times I felt like Michael Bay was directing this. I thought the beginning was good. A strong fight scene with Rock/Stratham and some comedic moments with Rock/Diesel. The story, overall was strong, but poorly executed. Having Rock out of most of the movie was a bad idea. I like to watch a movie and be entertained. I get that most of the stunts are done for entertainment purposes, but the building jump 3 times was beyond ing dumb. The first jump was great, but the following 2 were just dumb. Diesel's "death" scene was HORRID. The best part of the movie was the end with Paul Walker's tribute. It was excellently done. Really enjoyed his sendoff. The rest....terrible.

People who are calling this film 'terrible' need to lighten up. You know what you are going to get with these films, over the top, far fetched action sequences, a whole load of fight scenes and things blowing up, that's what makes it what it is.
I personally really enjoyed it, I did think the end sequence ran on a bit too long but overall I can't complain. Send off to Paul Walker was brilliantly done, and I have had the song 'See you again' pretty much on repeat all this week as a result.

But the franchise was able to make 5 movies that didn't do that.. They always had some bits of crazy action in it, but nothing that was completely unbelievable.. This over the top reliance stuff started with Fast 6 and was somehow accepted by people thinking that's all the franchise ever was. Like they convinced themselves that's what the Fast & Furious movies have always been about. Which could not be further from the truth. I don't think "you know what you are going to get with these films" is a strong argument.. Because after Fast Five, the entire series took a giant left turn into something it was never about. Anyone that thinks Fast 6 and Furious 7 are the normal for this franchise, go watch the first 4 movies.. But most importantly, watch the first 2.. The first one, 'The Fast and The Furious' is in my mind 100% a future classic.

Enjoyed the hell out of it. Thought it was great honestly. The Statham and Diesel interactions were fantastic. I loved the chicken scene and then the mountain driving was just crazy fun to watch, especially PWalk in the bus. It felt like a bit of fun satire. Like the characters are almost aware of the universe they live in now, which is comical.
I'm a big huge fan of Rowdy, but she really shouldn't of had any lines. Her fight scene was great but she sounded goofy. Still cool to see her but I think Gina is a far more natural actress, not that it's necessary to compare the two I guess.
It was pretty much everything I expected. Would have enjoyed more Rock but I think the franchise moves forward with him and Diesel as the focal points anyway. Nathalie Emmanuel does just about everything for me, so that was an added wow bonus.
Kurt Russell got awesome, Ludacris and Tyrese were as hilarious as ever, and that Paul Walker send off was perfect. They could 100% end it on that note and call it a great run but F7 has already made over 400 million and it hasn't been out a week yet. So we'll definitely get more.
Again, thought it was great, funny, sad, high octane. Everything I expected.

Four is where things changed honestly, the entire feeling the movies just progressively changed through 4,5 and 6 and has left us where we are now. I haven't seen 7 yet but im excited. Anyone that acts like this new over the top direction to the movies is something brand new to 7 is blind. This all started with Fast & Furious and you should have seen it coming. I love every bit of these movies even if they aren't the all around home run that The Fast and The Furious was.

Fast 4 had some change, but still had alot of cars, street racing, and focused on the life of a fugitive.. Fast Five is when it became an action film.. But like I stated above, it's easier to believe what's going on in 4 and 5 than it is in 6 and 7.. Calling someone blind isn't fair either, Fast 4 and Fast 5 are not like 6 and 7.. Fast 6 is when the franchise became over the top.. Not Fast 4.. It wouldn't have been hard to not make these movies over exaggerated action films. I enjoy action.. But I don't want unbelievable action.

But four along with fives ridiculous success are the reasons why the series is made the way it is today.

Says the dude with the Avengers sig.... haha jk man just busting your balls i thought the movie was awesome, unbelievable action? yes totally, but awesome overall. Some of the really cheesy lines were kinda dumb but w/e. Also I really didn't like the whole 3 building car jump... too much for me. But I loved the movie. My wife was sobbing at the end with Paul's sendoff. I cried a bit lol I really hoped they didn't make another one after this. The Fast and Furious franchise began as a kind of underground racing movie, and became one of the most successful franchises in the world. Yes it totally made an 180 from what it originally meant to be, but times change and so do people's interests. Adapting at its finest. So really in these movies you have to go with a mentality to take it as it is, have some fun and enjoy it! It's just an exciting experience! Also did anyone notice that the Rock was watching one of his UM games right before he saw the news on the TV about all the crazy stuff in LA??
