Anyone else besides me think that the Basic 48 Hogan is a better base figure than the Defining Moments figure? I just got a B48 Hogan and I am very impressed with it for a basic figure. I realize that with an Elite body you get more articulation, and the DM figure has all the extra accessories, but in comparing the base figures, I really like the Basic 48 better. The heads are the same, so that's a wash. But the B48 body looks more like 1980s Hogan, and the knee pads are actually red instead of that painted maroon on the DM. Dunno, just my opinion.

I have both and dig both for their own reasons. Basic has the closed fist which I like cause I can do his punch now Lolz. I'm a big basic fan anyway tho. I hate when people are all " basics" cause they really are great figures and I like them just as much as my elites.

i say the DM, it has better posability to do the leg drop, as Hogan had his legs spread abroad (and one is slightly higher)
you get a headband, a Title, and a "tearable" shirt, not to mention, Hogan did have the 2 toned maroon kneepads

DM Hogan's knee pads are painted because they are two-toned like Flair's knee pads. I wasn't sure about that at first, either, but it is accurate.

I think the torso on the DM is awful, so I kinda like the Basic better in that regard. I wish the Basic would have come with a headband or bandanna, Savages basics did. However for me, this upcoming Superstars Entrance figure is better than both of them. Again, I hope this one comes with a red Hulkamania headband.

I said before I preferred the basic version. But in many ways I prefer basics over elites, I just don't like that ab joint

Something else interesting I noticed that throws the DM figure off a little. The torso is the shortest of all 3 Hogan figures out now. And he has no navel! LOL! But from shortest to longest torso - Defining Moments, Basic 48, Elite 34. (Forgive my using my custom white DM Hogan, it was within reach for the photo.).. The 'shortness' of the DM torso is necessary to achieve the correct and accurate look of Hogan having his trunks pulled up over his belly button. It's actually one of things I like about the DM figure.

After finally getting dm hogan I think his legs are too long. I think it's a very overrated figure.

I dig both but still gotta go w DM, the accessories, iconic look and more articulation to perform moves with, it is still a better overall package. The basic Hogan does look superb tho, I feel Mattel is doing great figs of him

Yes I like the high trunks look of the DM, but the Basic figure looks like he's more solid.

That white hogan looks awesome
Also impressed with the basic hogan. Love job his legs are spread and aren't tight together like other basics

Yes I like the high trunks look of the DM, but the Basic figure looks like he's more solid. That is the exact word I would use. When I pick it up, it is a much more solid feeling figure than other basics I own. It is very well done.
