Yes, a few of ya got the gist of my probably unnecessary rant haha Jeans = Laziness (of the wrestler and furthermore, by Mattel, if releasing a certain character capturing their "laziest look", whereas lotsa people prefer him in any of his many other much more awesomely appearing attires) Current Hogan is what he is. He doesn't necessarily wear really any wrestling attire, more like merch shirts sold at stands in the arena with slacks or whatever. Hence, a couple releases have come forth of current day Hogan, which I'm totally fine with. Same goes for Corporate Kane...go ahead release him in the slacks, it's current and up to date...does it look as cool as Monster Kane? Heck no! I think we could pretty much all agree on that. Did many of us buy the shirtless, slacks-only Kane? Probably so! However, to go and make a flashback of a great character that many truly love (he was the WCW People's Champ back then and whatnot after all and coined as such) in an elite form, to boot...and have him in jeans, which could EASILY be done as a third DDP released figure in a basic line, just like Co'Kane in slacks...what would be the point of DDP being elite? Personally, i don't think it's happening anyways, but I felt the need to speak out about the demand for such apathetic lethargy, which is essentially what would be the case if Mattel actually met that so-called "demand" The promo pic shows him during his WWE run, however that doesn't mean that's the one we're getting, though it would make sense. If ya look at the Outsiders pic and then rumors of spray paint cans / shades being included in battlepack, that seems on point with the WCW era t-shirt / jeans promo pic shown of them to promote the upcoming 2-pack to be released. Granted, I'm aware the promo pix don't always--in fact, often times do NOT--match the figures that are then produced. Methinks we're getting WWE era DDP, since WCW era tights DDP was already released (regardless if many missed out). That would be the WWE thing to do anyways, persuade a WWE release of the character as opposed to WCW. But hey, who knows. Either way, I'll take WWE Invasion DDP over bland, boring, "D.D.P." AKA Dull.Denim.Pants ;-) Additionally, I'd much rather have Outsiders in their gear...but we might still get at least Hall in his anyhow later on down the line (pardon the pun) . . . it's perfectly ok for battle packs in my opinion to have them in the jeans...and they did cause a stink, if ya will, during their initial run as literal "Outsiders" for a little while, wearing jeans and t-shirts...truly ICONIC moments in wrestling history...I think that's the difference...during iconic MOMENTS that was their look versus an iconic LOOK during RANDOM moments / matches. For instance, DDP & Leno or DDP & Malone vs Hogan & Rodman...those were big deals even in the MAINSTREAM MEDIA...and DDP certainly wasn't sporting goofy ass jeans during those matches. A U.S. Title run versus Hennig isn't nearly as memorable to the casual fan, I guess is my point. NBA fan who bought the PPV to see Rodman/Malone saw DDP in tights. Viewers who watched the entire DDP-Savage feud saw mostly tights DDP vs tights Savage...if anything, special tights of Savage (green lightning) at Havoc stood out vs. Diamond Denim Pants...same goes for children seeing flashy looking pants who may not know DDP but might pick it up anyways and do research later and learn to love the history of the character and be glad they have him in their collection. Hardcore collectors, even still, would probably prefer something better looking than jeans, though I realize that's not 100% the case. I know one thing: colorful, vivid, vibrant Macho Man might have been released in jeans and a t-shirt...but that sure as heckfire (Ned Ryerson reference from Groundhog Day) wasn't a friggin' elite figure!

I missed the first DDP, so I'm looking forward to this. I just hope he doesn't have short hair.
I have no problem with them redoing popular guys that had different looks/outfits. And besides, if you want to complain there are guys who have had way more figures than DDP.
I'm all for new guys, but we still have a good amount of those coming up, so I'm happy.

Would much rather have a new ddp figure than a cena anyday. BUT I get your point. Lots of over done figures. Every other series there is a cena. Or a bryan.just want flashbacks really.

Im okay with new characters slowing down a bit as i have spent too much the way it is. But mattel has done a great job job getting new characters out in recent months.....doink, earthquake, adam rose, sammy zayn, summer rae, lana, stephanie, stardust, breeze, and neville all have been added to our collections in the last 4 months. Not bad if you ask me.

since we got a WCW DDP I'm hoping for a WWE DDP, his attire was awesome. Plus the short hair will be a different enough look. either way, it's not a matter of getting new characters...to make a figure of a wrestler you need to have a contract with said wrestler for merchandising rights. there is A LOT of stuff behind the scenes that collectors on a forum have zero idea about. Mattel is making another Elite DDP because A) he's a popular wrestler among casual & hardcore fans B) he had 2 unique looks and character styles in his career C) he must be under a contract so they are able to make one I'm perfectly fine getting another DDP. As long as it isn't an exact repaint of his Legends figure. i think him having jeans is the best case scenario...because if u look at all the posts MDT had about re-releasing the MattyCollector Andre legend in elite 29, MDT made it very clear that they were re-releasing Andre due to lackluster legends sales on the Matty site. granted MDT threw us a bone and gave us an afro and different colored trunks. but i will be surprised if the DDP isn't just the matty figure w/ a different colored attire Im good with that. Any DDP from any era.

Can't we just be happy with what we get ? If we don't get it ,it's an issue. if we get it ,it's still an issue. jeesh you know things could b worse these could b made by a diff company with all bodies the same height and same mold etc... No one can ever be happy it seems it's either not enough or too much for some . I. Life you gotta take the good with the bad sometimes

Considering the sales numbers for the Matty Exclusive DDP this IS a brand new character for most collectors. Both fans of new characters or new versions of existing characters will have a lot to be happy for as the line goes along.

I really don't see an issue with getting another DDP. He's only had 1 other Mattel figure which was an online exclusive. It's not like he's had 10 figures, it's only gonna be the second, take it easy.

Is there a new headscan for DDP??? i think u just need to read between the lines on that one. Andre, Tully, Arn.....no new head. re-released Matty Andre at retail because of low sales. If Andre had low sales....then DDP's sales were probably half of what Andre did. Its obviously going to be the same DDP figure we got. If we're lucky this DDP will have different color scheme on tights/vest. And hopefully we get a shirt. and please please please...don't have orange facial hair again

That makes it seem like the same DDP with a new accessory.

Shut the up. My god. Nah, I think I'll continue writing and doing as I so choose to do within my independent, individual rights and / or privileges within the parameters of legality obviously, but thanks for the positive reinforcement! ;-) You're welcome to not read, or even completely ignore, if you do not approve. Several other posters actually complimented, even going so far as to consider yours truly a new favorite amongst the forum. However, to each his / her own, as always in life! Have a splendid Spring day, sir, hopefully filled with ear-to-ear smiles for miles abroad! Peace & love be with ya, mista. I'm off to continue killing the world's innocent civilians with kindness in the mean time...
