Whedon sure does love his dramatic death scenes. I should have seen that coming but I totally didn't. I do think the Quicksilver death was a little under played after the scene was actually over. It would have been nice to have them sort of acknowledge him and then subsequently SW because of it. Brief dialogue would have been fine, but the Hawkeye scene on the carrier laying next to his body really wasn't enough imo. Such a minor complaint but I did think that QS deserved more attention for his death. Beyond that, I thought the movie was absolutely incredible. I kind of went into it thinking there is no humanly way it will be better than the first and I think that it probably was better, for me anyway. The characters have all evolved from the first and second waves of films and the interactions and dynamic now were so much easier to believe. The hammer scene at the party was amazing. I ate that entire deal up. The post credit scene literally popped people into a cheer in my theater. I totally agree with the reaction. OMFG. So amazing and Thanos ties everything together. He's this grand design that has existed the entire time and it took like 10 movies to really reveal what is actually going on. My absolute favorite scene of the film was when all of the Avengers were guarding the spike in the middle of the church and they started fighting off the waves of Ultron bots. I got goosebumps from it. I genuinely had like an out of body, I'm 5 years old, can't believe what I'm seeing type of moment. That scene and then the shot of Hulk in the jet from behind flying away were just gorgeous and iconic imo. Anyway, I loved the movie and it more than lived up to my expectations. I do wish we would have seen Winter Soldier though. He's one of my favorite characters and a brief moment with him would have been perfect. Did anyone else get the free poster? My theater had these super nice white Avengers posters that had the embossed logo on it and all of the characters are worked into the design. The nicest hand out poster I've ever seen. I'm planning on framing the one I got and putting it in my office at work. I agree with you on Quicksilver that was one of my complaints about them not even acknowledging him after his death. I also expect The Avengers to have a bit trouble fighting Ultron and his clones, but they all seem to take him on pretty easily. If you look back at The Avengers at first they were beating Loki's Army but as the film went on you can see they were starting to get beat by his Army. That didn't happen in Age Of Ultron since they easily beat Ultron and his army with no trouble at all. Also I HATE that poster man there were much nicer posters the fans could of voted for and they choose the ugliest one.

I absolutely loved this movie. I really don't get why so many people have been down on it. . I have heard very few moaning man.......and the ones I have heard moaning are clearly doing so to be "cool or different" The MCU rocks......its just SO good. I have seen this 3 times and my God its just brilliance. It seems to mostly be the internet being the internet. I haven't seen anyone in person say anything negative.

Nips are still tweaked. Just left the theater about an hr ago, and just walked in the door.
So pumped. Certainly on par with Winter Soldier, Guardians, and Daredevil, easily.

"Please be a secret door, please be a secret door.....yay!" - My favorite one-liner of the movie. There were so many, but that one cracked me up so hard.
I loved that movie so much. My mind is jumbling on things to comment on, but most have already been said in this thread, which is fine. But damn, the whole thing, all of the Whedonesque dialogue and amazing action...just so damn good.

Going to see this for a 2nd time tonight.
Not going to repeat everyones comments in here but have the same sentiments, loved it all around. The one big thing I was hoping for was that Quicksilver's death would have created much more of a divide in the team, that Cap blames all of this on Stark and the animosity leads into Cap 3: Civil War.
But there were a lot of subtle scenes that seem like they have been meaningless but are actually setting the foundation for the future, ie: Ulysses Klaw getting his hand cut off where he will eventually become the Klaw and take on Black Panther.

Loved the movie. People are taking it way too seriously.
My only comaint is that the Avengers didn't acknowledge Quicksilvers death, or atleast they didn't on screen. I thought they did a great job with his character and am sad to see him gone so quickly.
I did love the tribute to him by Clint. When Natasha was looking at the video of his new son they showed his middle name was "Pietro." Nice nod to the character.

Saw the movie in 3D Thursday night and just came home from seeing it in 2D today. I'm soooo happy that this movie exists, it made me feel like a little kid watching Power Rangers (except this is on a whole other scale).

There was collective gasp in the theatre when QuickSilver died. The entire time I think everyone was expecting Hawkeye given how much time he was given. Plus watching Joss' other works it was obvious but then he pulled a swerve. I agree he should have been acknowledged more. Like Hawkeye and Wanda should have set up a memorial for him in the new facility. Bruce and Natasha came out of nowhere, guess we're never gonna see Betty again.
Hawkeye's comments after QS called him an old man was hilarious. As was the "No it wasn't!"
I'm looking forward to what comes next.

Just got back from seeing it. Absolutely loved it, the one-liners were great and the action was really awesome. I didn't think it could top the first Avengers but it came pretty damn close. There was a audible gasp from the crowd with QuickSilver was killed, I don't think anyone was expecting that, and thats an awesome thing about seeing it opening weekend. Is watching it with a packed house.

I haven't seen it yet, I'm going Monday when I'm off, but I read that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was signed for multiple films with Marvel. Does anyone think they can somehow bring him back or was "multiple films" meant to be Winter Soldier and Avengers 2 with possibly flashbacks including him and Scarlet Witch?

Really good, action packed, non stop, summer blockbuster.. Great addition to the MCU, but it spent ALOT of time setting up Phase 3.
That's all I'll say right now, I'm still letting it process.

Yeah when Quicksilver died there was gasp in our cinema too......I think his death will mean more in Cap III. Just a hunch I have since I heard Elizabeth Olsen is in there. Delighted to see all the love for AOU. Also Word™ I agree they DID spend a good chunk of time setting up phase III....but I didn't feel it derailed the movie or effected momentum as some did.

This movie was so much fun! Yes it was....... LOADS of theories floating around about how Quicksilver may not be dead etc etc.....hope that isn't the case as I feel his death may be important going forward.

I can't wait to see Thanos rip the mind stone from Visions head.

Loved it, I became a Hawkeye fan. I was really shocked about Quicksilvers death. I'm hoping Hulk, IM, Thor, and Hawkeye come back for Avengers 3. I love those four guys, and damn they'll need everyone they can get for Thanos. Oh, and that Thanos credit scene was ING AMAZING! I marked out and screamed, so did the rest of the audience. Guardians and Avengers crossover? Please?

I have flashbacks to Visions checkout in the Infinity Gauntlet where Thanos just puts his hand right through him....and pulls out his chest innards. My friend Charlie said the exact same thing as you in work the day after he seen this...LOL.

Popping in just to say that though I haven't seen it, I'm BEYOND excited that Hawkeye finally gets some development. I absolutely love him as a character and am still holding out hope we'll get a solo movie for him.

I saw it last night and ing loved it. I'm glad that Hawkeye actually got more story development than he got in the first Avengers film. I liked the fight between Hulk and the Hulkbuster a lot...especially the jackhammer fist. I found it kinda strange that Ultron was cutting jokes in the movie, since pretty much ALL of the previews have him all menacing and stuff...but I wasn't mad at it. Vision was pretty cool & the fight at the end was pretty epic. Mid-credit scene was fantastic. I'm gonna have to go see if again since I couldn't hear half the dialogue over the laughs of everyone else and some lard ass that was 2 seats over from me SNORING loud as hell during the movie. I mean, who goes to a movie and goes to sleep? Plus, after his pal woke him up, the sat there playing with his phone too, until I said "really bunghole?"

Who was the guy in the post credit scene? And can someone explain to me how he ties everything in? Thanos. In short, the glove he was wearing is called the Infinity Gauntlet and it's an insanely powerful weapon. He wants to collect all of the Infinity Gems, like the gem from Guardians that was given to Nova Prime at the end and the one from Loki's staff that is now in Visions head, and add them to the gauntlet. When he does, the Gauntlet becomes pretty much the most unstoppable weapon in the universe, giving Thanos limitless power.
