There was collective gasp in the theatre when QuickSilver died. The entire time I think everyone was expecting Hawkeye given how much time he was given. Plus watching Joss' other works it was obvious but then he pulled a swerve. I agree he should have been acknowledged more. Like Hawkeye and Wanda should have set up a memorial for him in the new facility. Bruce and Natasha came out of nowhere, guess we're never gonna see Betty again. Hawkeye's comments after QS called him an old man was hilarious. As was the "No it wasn't!" I'm looking forward to what comes next. It was the same at my theater when Quicksilver died. I legit heard people saying "No way..." and "oh my god"

Loved the movie! Thought it was FAR better than the first Avengers film.
I dont think Quicksilver is dead. I think they left it open ended and I think he could easily return. This is Marvel afterall.
I am getting the feeling that Civil War is going to almost nothing like the comic version and Steve Rogers is not gonna die. Chris Evans already stated this week that he is off to film Civil War and as soon as he is done there, its off to film Avengers 3. If he is dead in Civil War, what role could he serve in 3? The only reason to kill Rogers off is because Evans is leaving the franchise, as he has said he planned to do. Unless they are going to kill Rogers off in Avengers 3......I think its gonna come out that Evans has signed on for additional films.

Just walked in the door and here's a few notes...
I loved the bits of humor in this one as well. I hope now that Joss is gone that trend continues.
Hawkeye's story was a pleasant surprise. He shines in this movie.
I was disappointed in Quicksilver being done already. I really liked his character.
I like the references to the upcoming Black Panther movie.
Scarlet Witch was awesome.
Ultron was cool but had some questionable dialog.
Vision was awesome. I really like Paul Bentley so I am glad he got an upgrade.
Hulk in both Avenger movies are the best thing to ever happen to me. He's done perfectly.
Hulkbuster was done well also.
Thanos is a bad mother f*****. Hope he crushes it in A:IG.
I'd say this one was on par with the first. Can't wait to see it again.

I loved it! Maybe not as much as the first one, Winter Soldier and GOTG but it's up there as one on the best Marvel films. I had doubts about Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver but they turned out awesome. Loved the accents, something I never heard in my head when reading the comics but I will now. Vision was really cool. I wasn't really bothered by the death of Jarvis but was very happy when he was back. I wouldn't mind a Hulk/Widow stand alone film. Iron Man, Cap and Thor were great. I liked the Hawkeye stuff. The dart scene was fun. Caps wood pile compared to Starks. LOL! I really love seeing Cap do different things in combat. It's sometimes easy to forget just how strong he is and think he's more normal than he is. I love Ruffalo and his version of Banner and the Hulk. The other characters showing up in small parts was great too. War Machine, Falcon, Maria Hill, Nick Fury and Erik Selvig. Visions of Peggy, Heimdall and mentions of Pepper and Jane were nice too. Yeah, I think Quicksilver could come back. Not going to go into detail but that shirt he got from the Avengers along with Dr. Cho and what she can do could play a part in that. I like how Maria Hill explained Scarlet Witch's powers. "Weird" The set ups for later films were niceley set up. Many questions that I'm looking forward to seeing get answered. Can't wait to see Klaw/Klaue. I'm sure Black Panther is not going to like what happened to his country/city. Could he want Banner arrested to answer for that? Thor's vision was interesting.Looked like signs of Ragnorak. I liked seeing Heimdall. Looked like Loki may have been shown in shadow. Will Thanos still be hanging around Asgard? How will everyone from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. be affected by this new Fury/Cap S.H.I.E.L.D.? When Stark got the Friday program did anyone else notice the other one labelled Jocasta? My only complaint is that I would have liked to see more of Strucker. Edit: Just saw on Marvel Wiki that Dr. Cho is the mother of Amadeus Cho. That's cool. marvel.wikia.com/Helen_Cho_%28Earth-616%29

With all the Phase 3 set up they did in this movie, I had completely forgot that Spider-Man is going to get thrown into the mix soon as well.

This movie was great. The mid credits scene was the shortest but the best one yet.

Loved the movie. So many great moments, felt really different visually as compared to the first one. Quicksilver's death was great, even though I read spoilers about it on youtube. Was still trying to put it all together while watching to see how exactly a Quinjet killed him. But once I saw Ultron in it, I figured it out pretty quickly, but it was still very sad. Can't wait to watch it again.

Saw it earlier tonight and still thinking about it.
Anyone notice that Hawkeye named his newborn after Black Widow/Natasha and Quicksilver/Pietro? The full name being Nathaniel Pietro Barton.
Also, any think anything of the little boy and mom thy appeared throughout the movie quite a bit. I think it was also the same kid Hawkeye rescues when QS "sacrifices" himself. I just thought there could be more there since the kid was shown quite a bit.

I caught that on my second viewing last night. To me that was a good enough homage to the character dying. And true story -- it was even better the 2nd time around. I don't want to move it above Daredevil into the #2 spot yet, but...it's pushing it. We got CA: Civil War, Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, and Avengers: IW Pt 1/2 set up. Did I miss any set up for Dr. Strange, GotG2, Captain Marvel or Inhumans for Phase 3 in A2?

Read the commentsSo it seems to begin. The "It's the cool thing to hate on Marvel movies" phase. Saying that the quality is deteriorating when we've gotten Winter Soldier, GotG, DD and AoU in a row is asinine at best. Enjoy.

Saw it today. Outside of Hawkeye never running out of arrows I can't think of anything to nitpick about it. I couldn't have wanted much more from this movie.
So onto a subject of what the future holds...
A lot of folks seem to be hinged on Infinity war one ending with the old avengers showing up as it ends. In my opinion, it seems logical for there to be a tad bit of a gap between the films. There's two more phase 3 films in between infinity 1 and 2 so it makes sense for those to take place in between so those characters can play a role in part 2

I went to saw it on Friday in IMAX 3D, which was definitely worth the extra few bucks. Got a pretty cool shirt as part of a deal where if you bought a large popcorn and drink for 27 dollars, you got an exclusive shirt and little action figure as well. I got an Iron Man as my figure, and got this t-shirt which I like a lot: Onto my thoughts on the movie. After avoiding this and the MCU thread like the plague, I can finally browse through without worries of being spoiled. I really liked it, and of the films it's definitely in my top 5 and if you include TV shows it's likely still there, but probably at number five. The focus on Hawkeye was alright, I guess he has never been my favorite so it didn't do much for me. My favorite part was when they were defending the reactor from the army of robots while the camera was spinning and showing all of the action. Vision was definitely a highlight for me, and I really enjoyed Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver a lot more than I thought I would. I wasn't surprised to see Quicksilver die, as he was my predicted death in the MCU thread because it would be confusion with the DOFP Quicksilver, who Fox would be pretty dumb to not bring back after being the best part of that movie. My nitpicks were that Ultron wasn't exactly what I expected him to be, but the explanations that he adopted Stark's personality make sense. I guess I was hoping for a more ruthless villain than Tony Stark lite. And as much as I enjoyed the Hulk/Black Widow relationship in the movie, there being no reason for it happening in the first place kind of put me off, especially after she seemed at least a little interested in Cap during The Winter Soldier. I also really liked that last week's episode of Agents of SHIELD was kind of a prequel to the movie, considering the Avengers used the intel that Coulson and co got from the episode to find the building they attacked in the opening scene as well as the appearance of the main Hydra guy on the show in the movie. Just really cool to see the show play even a minor role in the movie, though I would've like to see an appearance from maybe not Coulson himself but Skye or someone just as a throwaway type thing like they did with Heimdal. Part of me really doesn't think they'll allow Quicksilver to remain dead, as they could very well use the TAHITI program they used on Coulson or some form of new technology that Dr. Cho was playing with through the movie, but having a death be final would be nice for a change as it will make later inevitable deaths of major characters be more realistic. Really excited for upcoming movies and shows. Here's my new ranking of all Marvel properties (excluding Agent Carter as I've only seen the first couple episodes). 1. Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Avengers 3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 4. Daredevil 5. Avengers: Age of Ultron 6. Iron Man 7. Agents of SHIELD (especially recently) 8. Captain America: The First Avenger 9. Thor 10. The Incredible Hulk 11. Thor: The Dark World 12. Iron Man 3 13. Iron Man 2 And even the movies at the bottom of the list, I enjoyed watching. And here's the updated list of movies I'm most excited for after watching AOU (making this list was actually way harder because I'm really excited for all of these). 1. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 2. Captain America: Civil War 3. Doctor Strange 4. Avengers: Infinity Wars (Part 1/2) 5. New Spiderman 6. Black Panther 7. Inhumans 8. Captain Marvel 9. Ant Man 10. Thor: Ragnarok

Yup......Ive noticed this steadily increasing over the last year or two. It was cool to hate on them at the start too IIRC. I doubt Disney gives a f*ck though LOL!! AOU is a MONSTER at the box office!!

Awesome film!
Didn't love how they made Ultron have these random humourous moments, detracted from his character imo. Don't think QS is dead, no one really mourned or acknowledged his death in any way. Sure, SW had that breakdown, but no one really did anything to show he was actually dead.
Going to see it again tomorrow with my girlfriend.

I finally saw it last night.
It was great overall but there were some things I didn't care for.
I do have to say that I am surprised that people were surprised that Quicksilver died.
Ever since I saw Scarlet Witch screaming in the trailer (whichever one first showed it) I figured it was because her brother died.
They sorta tried to make me second guess myself because as time went on they seemed to be building Hawkeye up too much (for him).. I almost thought he would die and would be who she was screaming for since they did have a nice scene together but it still ended up being who I originally expected.
BTW I didn't hear any gasp around me when he died either.
