I saw it back in December and purchased the Blu-Ray as soon as it came out. I enjoyed it very much, though the terror and dread didn't translate to me as well as it may have toward a parent, which is fine. It was incredibly well done and atmospheric, which is what I tend to look for first in a horror film. I'll be watching it again soon.
It would be my favorite horror film in a while, if not for It Follows.

Very good indeed. This and It Follows were tremendous I thought for the genre.

It's available on Netflix for streaming. It caught my attention as it was featured when I logged in, but I haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Based on the reception from you guys, I'm definitely watching it now.

My nephew told me about it on Saturday. I watched the trailer and I'm going to order the Blu Ray soon

I'm intrigued. It's Australian too, so that's a bonus.

It's pretty great.
Very well crafted horror film; though the reviews I read are either completely positive or completely negative... it's the kind of film you will either love or hate, no middle ground.

Oddly enough I have some middle ground with it.
I found it to be pretty overrated in the end, but I didn't hate it. Maybe my expectations were too high. I found certain elements interesting but I had the entire idea figured out early on so it didn't really mystify me and in that case, didn't show me anything new or exciting, just descending into clichés. Horror is one of my favorite genres but other than guilty pleasures like the first 3 Child's Play movies, I enjoy and am effected by almost none of it.
That being the case, I found certain scenes interesting when relating them to my own episodes of sleep paralysis. I don't think I've ever seen a movie other than this that has fit the bill for what that feels like so well. Whether it was purposeful or not.

The way they captured the sleep paralysis was perfect, it made me genuinely feel worn down and burnt out myself. Very warped and mysterious which made me want to see it out to the end, although wasn't overly scary.

I went on iMDB a few days after and posted about it, asking if people got the same vibe, thinking nothing of it. I was really surprised to find a lot of people responded with the same thoughts. It only happens to me when I eat Wendy's so I don't do it anymore haha

One of the best horror movies I've ever seen. I love how it didn't rely on cheap jump scares and actually had a thought-provoking plot/ending.
Some people seemed confused by the ending... But coupled with other scenes in the movie, I thought it was pretty clear.

Such a good horror flick. The Best Buy version comes with a pop out cover featuring the Babadook itself.

Such a good horror flick. The Best Buy version comes with a pop out cover featuring the Babadook itself. Not actually a Best Buy exclusive. I bought mine from Amazon.
