Mine is a bit different. I have set an age limit for me to collect. what happens after that I'm not sure. On my 35th birthday I will quit collecting toys. The only exception I will give myself is Hot Toys and I really dont buy many of them. I currently stand at 8.

I'm right there now with a few things myself. My WWE collection is very near and dear to my heart, including my old BCA and CS figs. I'm debating right now whether or not to sell off my Beast Wars collection. It's tough because I know if I part ways with them, I will never see most of them ever again. I don't need money or anything, but I feel like selling off some stuff now makes sense to clear up space.

I'm having so much fun with this line it isn't even funny. It seems like the line is hitting its stride right now. There is so much variety in this line with characters and you just don't see that in many toy lines anymore. I am very biased towards the recent wave of classic figures they were ones i wanted badly so I have been buying a lot of duplicates. I dont collect any other toy lines at all other than a few TNA Jakks figures. I never collected the Jakks Classic figures and was a hardcore BCA collector in the late 90's. I also had Hasbro's and LJN's as a kid so I have always had wrestling toys. I just enjoy collecting these, they are really nice figures.

I've collected from my childhood with the ljn line all the way to mattel and everything in between. I honestly don't think I will ever stop. The biggest issue for me is space. I have amassed over 1000 figures. Not to mention all the other brands and memorabilia I collect. As a result I've had to open several of my newer figures as they take up much less space when opened. The way I look at it, is that I'll pass it down to my kids one day so it's definitely a hobby worth continuing.

I've slowly been selling all of my figures since I met my wife. I had thousands of bca, ttl, RA, da, basic, and elite figures. I'm much more attracted to a down payment on a house than having a wrestling figure collection.

You collectors need to stop buying every single figure because it will burn you out. It has for many of the hardcore collectors, at some point you will reach critical mass.

I just sold all of my legends/flashbacks. I was all caught up to doink and earthquake. I see how you would get tired and burned out. I'm sure I will regret selling someday but for now I'm cool with it.

Coon,
I've been on this board for like, 12 years now? I've gone through the phases of collecting as a child, a teen, and an adult. I am 30 now. I did at one point sell my entire collection aside from a few items. 95% though, Marvel Legends, WWE Jakks, WWF LJN, TNA Toy Biz, all of it.
Then Mattel created this line. At first I passed, but within 18 months I was drawn in. Then came another Marvel Legends collection (which I'm again thinking about selling off, at least all the non X-Men). Turtles figures. World Of Nintendo. Amiibo.... Full on collector mode.
Recently put my WWE collection into a single Ikea Detolf display case and realized I needed 2 because they all didn't even fit jam packed into one. As I'm still hunting and buying I'm also at that point where I'm wondering just how big I can allow this collection to get.
So yeah, I feel you. I don't think I could totally cut off all collecting but I'm trying to figure out what I have to do to maybe have a little less. I say this as I'm thinking about whether to run to Target real quick to check for Earthquake, lol.

Glad I can relate to you Coon as I feel the same way. One way of seeing it is money comes and goes as for collecting, it's tough to recover , especially when prices will constantly go up.

I'm hitting the wall too. MDT has been killing it of late and I'm nearing the end. Comics and Sideshow statues are my favorite hobbies and I've been obsessed with SH Figuarts for a couple years. I've skipped the last few Elite waves (aside from a figure or two), and have almost stopped getting Basics and BP's altogether.
I'm turning 26 this Summer and my wife and I have no plans on kids for the foreseeable future. That said, most of my wants have been made and there's no reason for me to buy just to buy.
I definitely plan on selling a lot of my WWE figures in the immediate future.

Definitely agreed. Even if my figs are just basics, I just can't sell them. I have close/over 500 Mattel figs. And I mainly display elites. Overall, I stopped buying basics with the exceptions of unique ones (divas, basic 48 booker, etc.) But I won't buy the basic 49 Dallas because I KNOW I'll buy the elite. So that kinda saves some room. Only about half my figs fit on my display, and my display is huge.

I have always collected. Wrestling figures have always been there from day 1 of my life. Im now almost 29. So, i dont think i will ever stop collecting. However, i have lost alot of interest in the actual wrestling tv product in recent months. I think i have watched raw 2 times in 3 months. dude just watch lucha underground and NXT (; I was losing interest in the product a year ago and now I'm like when I was a child
