Completely agree. What's an extra buck or two? Not worth getting worked up over. At what price would you or anyone think its too expensive to buy an elite figure? I saw the 20.29 price at my Target and saw 2 cases of the Elite 34 cena, reign, rollins, jyd case. I have a decent job, but the constant increase in prices at so fast a pace is really starting to turn me off from buying. Someone on this thread said that the wfigs community is such a small portion of who's paying for these. I beg to differ. Parents are not going to buy these for their kids. They will stick with basics. Maybe it's me but whenever I see kids in target, WWE figures is the least of the items I see kids with. I always see adults with the WWE figures. I just hope that Flashbacks don't get affected when Mattel realizes Elites aren't selling at the pace they want and they will need to cut back I'm not sure how many total elites Mattel sells each year but wfigs members aren't covering a majority of those purchases. We're a small chunk of their business. I wish it was the other way around but it's an unfortunate truth. I think $20-25 is reasonable for a figure. I stopped collecting other lines (Star Wars, walking dead, marvel legends) just to focus on my wwe collection. Figures everywhere are going up in price. This situation isn't just a wwe or Mattel thing. Plus, asking hardcore collectors like us to stop buying elites just won't happen lol. Even if I wanted to stop I wouldn't be able to. If I walked into target and saw a flashback I didn't own, I wouldn't even look at the price tag.

Until reading this thread I didn't even know what they cost, I would have guessed $25 to $30 but I haven't bought a figure in stores in a long time, I buy all online, it's just easier. But really we're talking about figures that cost very little. I guess for some of the very young members here 16 and under, $20 might be a little money but for most of us it's not much at all.

Elites are 24.99 here in Canada. Yeah. Even with dollar conversion, the US is only now catching up to what we've been paying for years.

I think if we stop buying elites, they will either lower the quality or lower the price. The quality already went downhill

It's getting crazy.i only collect flashbacks and even that is getting hard to justify the money they are costing. They took the cloth away and gave us these rubber shirts. Pretty soon it'll be cheaper to order online which is a shame. I can't remember the last figure I bought in a store though. I just bought doink last night for 20.99 and that's way better than online prices!

I would like to think that I will stop collecting figures if it reaches a certain price point that I don't agree with but so far, I haven't stopped.
I also said the same thing about Jordans if it reaches the $200 price point, I would stop since I was used to only spending about $100-$150 for a pair. So far, I still haven't stopped since it has reached $200.
Mattel has us by the balls, that's all I can say.

I am a teacher and I tell you. you're insane. $20 is A LOT of moolah for plastic. To the average American worker this is a lot. Mattel has not improved their products to even justify an increase.

What is Mattel going to say? They have a MSRP but that doesn't mean stores are going to follow it. Stores are going to milk every bit of profit they can out of the product. Yeah, I hope this does not affect the upcoming horseman set. Bill did say they used less deco to make it affordable, but who knows what price target will set.

Some of my stores are at 21.19 now
The Target prices are constantly fluctuating. They were 21.99 at one point last year I believe. And then back down to 16.99 at another point in the year not sure what causes it. But some of you guys should relax. It's not a permanent change. TRUs who used to have by far the most expensive elites (I've seen them 22.99 before) are now the cheapest at 16.99.

On a side note, on Friday night I got elite 35 HHH, and I did manage to finally score Paige today at TRU for 16.99...so I was insanely happy about that.
Especially for Paige who has been the white (pun intended) whale around here. I almost shelled out 35 bucks at the Philly comic con the other week just because I was tired of looking for her.
And like others have said, despite cost, I know I won't stop collecting. I backed waaaay off other lines. I used to be a marvel legends junkie but now I cherry pick those.
It's my hobby though...I don't drink or smoke or any crazy crap like that, so I could be doing worse things with my money. It's what makes me happy and it's something fun to look forward to. I'm a firm believer that everyone needs something like that. It's basically therapeutic for me, and as long as it brings me joy, then I'll indulge

Geez, this is why I hate buying retail sometimes, it's not bad. But most of the elites I see there I can get for cheaper on eBay.

They have to make up for all the barbies that dont sell anymore. But we should be happy that the line isn't just those tiny star wars/gi joe type figures that are not worth 10 bucks each or even 20 for the slightly bigger ones.

My personal opinion to this price situation has to do with eBay. I would think that what people who sell all of these figures(WWE, Marvel, Star Wars, etc.), and the amount of money that was being made must have turned a few heads at Mattel, Hasbro. So now we see how much everything is now costing at retail. Would we see prices this high if there was no eBay?
