Tag Team Tourney Quarter Final
---------------------------------------------------
Trace Demon & Nikki Dean vs. Michael Kyzer & Ante Whitner
When the pairings for the tag team tournament were announced a number stood out as strange bedfellows. None were stranger than Trace Demon and Nikki Dean. For months Nikki was a member of the Saviours of Salvation, a group of perennial do-gooders fighting the corruption of Trace Demon and his Final Revolution. Fast forward to last week as Nikki Dean found herself facing Michael Kyzer only to be assaulted before the match even began by the man she won the National Championship back from, Ante Whitner. Despite the assault Nikki fought valiantly in a losing effort to Michael Kyzer but it was the events following the match that really got people talking. As Kyzer and Ante Whitner, who themselves have a less than friendly mutual acquaintance in DMK, looked to continue the brutality Nikki found herself rescued by the unlikeliest of saviours in Trace Demon. The questions going into this match are many. Why would Trace Demon save Nikki Dean? Is he changing his colours or minding his own interests? Can either of these teams work together? Will DMK have a hand in proceedings? When you’ve got questions like that there’s no choice but to throw them all in the main event and see what happens.
Riot in the Motor City

Penny Shannon vs. Lucas Crowe
Ascension was a damn good show for both of these two competitors. Penny made her long awaited return from injury and did so in fine fashion, scoring a victory over both Stan McMann & Jayson Garrett in her triple threat outing. Crowe on the other hand made his WFWF debut and in doing so scored the first pin fall of the Tag Team Tournament, progressing Johnny Hess and himself on to the Semi Finals, and one step closer to their first taste of gold. Both superstars were able to pick up wins in less than desirable situations, but how will they fair when pitted in singles action? There's only one way to find out!
Tag Team Tourney Quarter Final

Drakz & Tugarin Zmey vs. Hollywood Unhinged 2.0
The Tag Team Tournament not only started last week but the game was also upped in that the prize is no longer a shot at the Tag Team Titles, but indeed the Tag Team Championship belts themselves are at stake. When the teams were announced on WFWF.com it took many by surprise, both fans and roster members alike. For instance who would have thought we would ever see the likes of WFWF World Heavyweight Champion Drakz teaming with Tugarin Zmey? Zmey has put Drakz down like a dog in the past and it's fair to say Zmey's boss isn't Drakz's biggest adherent, however with the Tag Team gold back up for grabs maybe DMK can quell his emotions and stay focused on business? That's a big maybe. Across the ring from this odd pairing stands the only ready formed tag team in the entire tournament, Hollywood Unhinged 2.0, although even they are pretty fresh to one another. Whilst Garrett has a storied history with both of his opponents this is going to be Sabbath's first outing with "The Dragon" and the champ. What is HU2's mind set going into this? Garrett holds a singles victory over Zmey and Sabbath has that National Title shot in his back pocket, so both men have to be feeling confident. How confident can you be though when squaring off against such an epic unpredictability?
The New Face of Crazy?
---------------------------------------------------
Daniel Kirkbride vs. Axel Thornstowe
You’ve changed Daniel Kirkbride. That’s the resounding opinion following the shocking attack on Joshua Dean last week after the pair won their tag team main event. Whether Kirkbride was entering his name into the International Championship hunt or not, nobody was expecting him to lash out against his own tag team partner. Kirkbride, for so long a man of respect and conviction, appears to have turned his back on the very things that have made him such a fan favourite in the first place. So the question is, what Daniel Kirkbride will we see this week as he takes on WFWF's resident maniac Axel Thornstowe? Last week Thornstowe came up short in the tag team tournament alongside Jon Gotch, and though he’ll get another shot in next’s show qualifier bout he’ll be looking to prove his worth in singles action tonight. Thornstowe has always showed promise, but will he be able to stand up against the undeniable talent, and the new violent attitude, of Daniel Kirkbride?
Righting the Course
---------------------------------------------------
Samael Ahriman vs. Jon Gotch
Last show both of these men lost in tag team action. Now they're being given the chance at a reprieve in a one on one spot on the card. Samael Ahriman chose not to accompany his partner Tugarin in the WFWF Tag Team Tournament for reasons that are yet to be made clear. We can only assume he has an ulterior motive for his choice to go it alone in the run up to the Tokyo Dome. Jon Gotch hasn't had much luck since he joined the company, but then again he's only had 2 matches, so he's far from written off just yet. His technical prowess was excellently displayed in his Tag Team Tournament match and he'll be given a second chance at a semi final spot in the 3 way eliminator next show, but right now he needs to focus on what's directly in front of him, a former champion and one of the hottest resurgences in WFWF history. After nearly falling into the history books for good Samael has taken back to the ring with a fire we've not seen from him in years, and you have to believe he'll be looking to put himself into a singles title picture with a victory at New Dawn over Gotch.
Testing the New Guy
---------------------------------------------------
Joshua Dean vs. Joey Raid
Joshua Dean, fresh off of a victory in last week’s tag team main event, found himself laid out at the hands of his own partner Daniel Kirkbride. It’s easy to see why Dean was as shocked as everyone else, the pair had worked well together in victory and had a supposed mutual respect for each other. Turns out mutual respect wasn’t enough to stop Kirkbride taking out Dean in an uncharacteristic display of power. Now Joshua Dean steps foot back in the ring with a whole lot of anger to take out on his unfortunate opponent. The opponent in question? The hardcore, high flying newcomer known as Joey Raid. While nothing is known about Joey Raid aside from the fact that he’s a daredevil who isn’t afraid to put his body on the line to win a match, what we do know is that he’ll want to make an instant impact here in the WFWF and there’s no better way to do that than by beating an established star, and right now there’s few men more established than Joshua Dean. Both men have something to prove, both men need the win, but only once can manage it in this clash of experience vs. desire.
