Jericho would be perfect for this role, imo.

I am okay with seeing veterans on NXT. It helps give the rub to talents who can sure use it. However, it has to be specific guys like Rhyno and even a Chris Jericho. You have to cherry pick talents who would best suit the NXT crowd. I am surprised the WWE hasn't used more veteran women onto NXT. I am sure Lita and even Victoria wouldn't mind doing one off appearances. You can have Lita go against Becky Lynch and even Bayley. As for Victoria, pair her up with Sasha Banks and Charlotte.
What made ECW work was you saw veterans giving the rub to the newer generation. In wrestling, you need veterans to legitimize the next generation of talents. It was one of the reasons why Cesaro was brought into NXT to feud with Sami Zayn. We are currently seeing the same with Rhyno and Barron Corbin.

I really don't like the idea of that. Hell, I don't even like someone like Ryhno getting a spot of the specials.

I really don't like the idea of that. Hell, I don't even like someone like Ryhno getting a spot of the specials. I didn't mind seeing Rhyno at Unstoppable. It benefits Barron Corbin because he is working against somebody who is better than him. After listening to various wrestling podcasts, one common theme with the newer generation is they need to work against people who are better than them. This holds true for the Corbin/Rhyno match at Unstoppable. The Cesaro/Sami Zayn feud did wonders for Zayn. Zayn was put into a position where can can get used to working with somebody from the main roster and help elevate him. The ending at their match at Arrival did wonders for Zayn. The fans saw him as this polarizing performer who they can gravitate to. Making somebody look like a big deal is not only a benefit to the performer who is on the rise but to also the company. A classic example is when Bret Hart and Steve Austin in 1996/1997. Austin was given the rub from Hart who was already established in the WWF system. Gave Austin somebody to feed off of and become a big deal in the eyes of WWF fans. The ending of their Submission match at WrestleMania 13 made both men look incredibly strong. Looking strong does a lot to the performer. Hell, a most recent example is Seth Rollins at the 2015 Royal Rumble. Rollins' performance in that thriple-threat with John Cena and Brock Lesnar help elevate him. Rollins was made to liik like a million bucks and proved he can hang with the best the WWE has to offer. Going back to NXT, seeing veterans popup here and their isn't a bad thing. It helps the guy the machine is trying to elevate into something big. The wrestling industry must evolve. It starts with a veteran squaring off against somebody who could benefit from. This is something a lot of fans fail to realize. You don't want somebody who the WWE has high hopes for fall flat on their face, that hurts the evolution of the industry. Keep this in mind everybody who seems to be against seeing veterans on NXT. Suppose if Triple H didn't create Evolution. Where do you think Randy Orton and Batista would have been today? Triple H saw something in both men, took both Orton and Batista under his and Ric Flair's wing. They became top attractions. Since Triple H is in charge of NXT, he wants to continue seeing the evolution of the industry. Without those veterans who come and go, Triple H's vision for the future can't be achieved.

You make good points. I probably wouldn't have minded as much if it was someone I actually like. I've never remotely cared for Rhyno.

Sure but they should also have former top divas like Victoria and Mickie do stuff with NXT because they could help out just as much as people like Rhyno and RVD.

I think Christian would be perfect in NXT if he is able to compete. Christian vs Zayn would be amazing. Not to mention Christian would be a hell of a teacher for anyone starting out in WWE.

Given how Christian is proven to be a solid worker, he can teach a lot of talents down there. One thing that can help them is teaching these guys different styles.
